Kane hit on Cole - Have your say!

  • Evander Kane was gliding through the slot and just happened to glide through the head of Ian Cole. On a scale of 1 (intentional) to 10 (completely accidental), how accidental do you think this was? Have your say!

    i mean...evander was going in a straight line, he didn't change course to hit Cole, but once Cole & he crossed paths, he did give that little "extra" elbow to the head area but isn't obvious whether or not he was aiming for the head region of his opponent. I think a penatly would be fair, but anything else would just be sending a message. No need for a suspension, just dish out his penalty and move along. 'Vander didn't alter his line one bit, both players naturally aligned to cross paths and a rough, mildly chaotic play was created by the two colliding forces.

    Even if it was a 5 minute major, does anything actually think it would have changed anything? Maybe a few more shots not taken by #43 and a few more impressive twirls with the puck on a string without any shots being taken in the end.

    This is an example of a good non-call. If on the other hand it opened up a clear scoring chance by interference it would have been a very different example.

    I’ve never seen a call on this channel that actually matters. All of these hits would have made 70’s fans and players laugh at how tame these silly plays are. Nothing in any of these plays is that bad at all, it’s child’s play compared to 70’s hockey not even close to be rough

      It's not the 70's anymore old man... the people from the 70's may laugh at some of the penalties for suspensions, the game is x100000000 faster than it ever was back then, in turn you have to protect the players. BTW these same people from the 70's didn't wear helmets and about 99% wouldn't be able to play in today's game. Hockey is the best is has ever been... if you don't like it throw your Don Cherry rock em sock em VHS tapes in and enjoy

  • @catdee609
    @catdee609 Před 22 dny

    I understand people generally want to paint Kane as a villain and dirty player but this is not one of those plays. Ian Cole initiates contact and you can clearly see his movement in the video. Kane does not change his trajectory at all but as the puck is played you can see Ian Cole stop skating backwards and shift his weight towards the puck. This small pivot puts him directly on a collision course with Kane. On top of that there is not extension of the elbow either. I don't think any Canucks players thought this was a dirty hit or head shot. They all watched it happen and continued playing. The players reactions tell the story.

    CLearly that is interference. Targeting the head and driving through it..... 5 minutes and a gamer, plus a player safety hearing and suspension. Anything less and the department of player safety is exposed for biased/favoritism. Kane has prior history. That should be at least 4 games... maybe 10 but I dont remmeber all of his history.... With him 10 might be the minimum because of his history.
