By now, most politicians learned to ask questions which, previously was the act of brivery. The reality is none of them, here and beyond, have any idea how to answer them and how in practice solve them for average person in today complexity of the world. They do not understand technological developments, scales of different expectations, how speed of technology in financial systems is used for corruption primary....
Hurra Musi or Malema or whoever mean nothing in practice today. ..

Q: You said you could be one of 4 people who could be president of SA in 2024. Can you expand on this?
A: I have come back strongly into politics. I have known both victory and I have known defeat. I am coming in with a fresh set of eyes to say where can SA go. I believe I am leading a party that can garner support.
(Other's don't? I would have thought that his answer would tell us why the other parties don't stand a chance.)
Q: Aren't there others who are in front of you in the queue?
A: People follow people. It's probably CR ahead of me then Malema and Zille. I am looking at where the individuals sit.
Q: With Bosa polling where it is, is it credible to say you would be president.
A: In 2019 people gave CR an increased majority, I can't see EFF without Malema. DA has its own problems. 12% of SA said they would vote for Maimane. That's why I said people follow people. We have branched out in all provinces. We want to build an army of 100k by Nov - we have 20k now. We have 10 point plan. What I am trying to articulate is we are not a fly by night.
(Other leaders are not people so people won't follow them? There's no answer vis a vis "I stand out".)
Q: Can you translate your popularity to votes?
A: We are sitting within a global platform where we've seen significant change politically. Change is possible. In this country, we will be bring the change.
(Other leaders have the same set of global platforms, don't they?)
Q: Will you renounce your business interests if you make it to parliament?
A: I was a leader in the church, I stepped down. I have been behind the pulpit, been in academia in the classroom, with my own master's program, now my PhD. I come equipped with a vast array of skills. The work I am doing it to ensure you have the best arsenal of tools to offer the best calibre of leadership.
(I stopped at 17:48. Maimane is here to tell his DA leaders that "look at me, I am not a failure". He is not answering the ques he is asked.)

Dr Walsh-Mpofu, you made a point, as long as we still have political parties, accountability will not be achieved as Maimane believes.
Thus OHM’s goal is to get rid of political parties in both elections and in parliament.
This then makes people elect representatatives for their constituencies as well as vote directly for the president.
All these people will be accountable to their constituencies not their political parties as there will be no political party in parliament even if most of the elected representatives are from political parties.

You cannot entrust a country with this kind of complexity with someone who thinks people can and should hold hands and sing kumbaya in the face of the most conspicious display of material and racial inequality in the world. For those of you who equate eloquence in the English language with political clarity and understanding then you are part of the reason we are in this mess. He equates his popularity to Julius, what is he smoking. Whether you like him or not you cannot compare your popularity with that fellow. Africa can sauce power from in-house must instigate the Grand Inga Project with the urgency it deserves- it can power Africa's industrialization quest and the excess power sold overseas. And can create your own medicine in-house, got the most diverse plant species in Africa to create your own medicine instead of being poisened and exterminated.

If what the leader is positing is a posture towards the Russian-Ukraine that's reflective of our foreign policy and trade-sensitive, then the non-aligned position we have adopted is the one best achieve that outcome. If our non-aligned position is viewed by Ukraine and the West as implied consent, then, logically, condemning Russia would be read by Russia and it's aligned parties, or at least neutral countries as a pro-west posture which would jeopardize trade with those countries. I hold a strong belief that our non-aligned position is the best in the circumstances and one that would achieve the outcome that the leader is advocating for as opposed to his subtle an subliminal pro-west position that he elegantly masks in refined terminology.

The very time that I ever even heard of Maimane was when he was being insulted in parliament by ANC MP's refering to him directly as a "Rented Black "... He is pretty haunted by this label to this day and an inability to fully define and assert himself politically.

And the 200/200 MPS is shambolic.
If you need 400 MP then divide SA into 400 constituencies. Each of them should have one MP post.
If ANC or EFF have enough support, the candidates they put in place from those constituencies will win and represent them in Parliament.
MPs should be representatives of the people in the first instance, not the Party.

So what about the Proportional votes/seats? You can't convert the whole 400 in to constituency, otherwise you are going to render the minorities in to insignificance.
For instances in Limpopo only 1 municipality in Modimolle is not ruled by the ANC and the rest of the municipality are under ANC.
So using your philosophy it will mean all MPs to national assembly from Limpopo will be coming from the ANC. The same thing will happen for Eastern Cape.

@@sibulelesolilo2892 the very idea that a legal citizen can vote and that vote be considered a waste under any circumstances, is unconstitutional. Every vote counts, regardless of whether it agrees with the masses or not. This is true republican democracy.

    • @oupamakola1685
      @oupamakola1685 Před rokem

@@onismusmoshashampe3383 I'm not sure exactly what you are missing. What minorities are you talking about. Let me give you an example. SA is divided into 400 constituencies. Limpopo say has 50 constituencies. Say Modimolle is big and concentrated enough to make up 1 constituency for 1 seat. The majority in Modimolle will elect a person to represent that constituency. If all 50 consituencies in Limpopo elect ANC MPs well that's democracy. It wont be different to what happens now. The only difference is, those 50 will be elected by people from those areas to represent them in parliament. Unlike having 400 people in parliament and half of them you never know whee they come from or who they represent except for the ANC or parties. A vote by the people for the people.
