    I have a couple friends living in neighboring cities. We all started about same time using almost identical business. approaches. One had 15 accounts, one around 20, third 80 after first year. The only difference I could see in approach was demand. Some cities haven't reached full capacity for lamdscapers yet and if you are in one of these places you can grow very quickly.

    Man your videos are great, how did you learn about all the fertilization and weed control? I have the Pesticide Applicator Certification Manual but it doesn't seem to tell me alot about what chemicals to use and for what weeds, do you recommend a book that tells the name of weeds and how to treat them? I live in Savannah GA by the way. Any help helps man! Thank you

    What is your attrition rate (actual or anticipated) ?
    Thanks for sharing all this valuable experience.

      Dicofole I have lost about 3 or 4 customers so far. I think that is pretty good and I wouldn't be surprised to lose a slightly higher rate in the future. It is part of the business

    You seem to be very knowledgeable in everything that you do. What selective herbicide would you suggest for use in lawns and for use in beds where grass is growing in?

    This contractor I used to work with was getting 1 to 3 customers a day, almost all through Facebook. Fortunately, he was losing them as fast as he was getting them. He seems to have plateaued around 60.
    This guy would have an accident at least once a week. All he did was rush jobs. He did all of his planning in his head & constantly forgot about customers. Still, the customers kept lining up.

      @lawncarelife  Před 8 lety

      +UnblockedOne2 It is a demanding industry with plenty of customers out there. Sometimes managing the business can be harder than getting customers

  • @timd4715

    Other contractors pass on the spraying for a reason. They value their retirement and health too much.

    long story short, i use to have my own tree service business, and after a few yrs or so, the phone would not stop ringing etc..., andyways, iam thinkin of begining a lawn mowing service, do u suggest advertising in yellow pages and craigslist and of course the internet . thanks good videso as always,

    • @lawncarelife
      @lawncarelife  Před 9 lety

      hunkydude322 I have never tried the yellow pages but I don't think it will work very well. Craigslist may bring a few customers. My best methods this year have been getting leads from my website which is ranked highly on google, getting referrals from lawn mowing guys (they send me fertilization/weed control customers), direct mail, and postcards.

    • @5ATX12
      @5ATX12 Před 5 lety +1

      I dont touch a lawn if its under $40. The people that charge $25 attract customers but you do not see them the following year. Under pricing will lead to business failure.
