Josue Mpunga I got one client using yelp and another from a Facebook group. I have a magnet for my truck and some yard signs. What I have had most call backs from is putting my business cards inside mailboxes..handwrote notes on the back of each one. I know it’s illegal but who’s taking me to jail 🤷🏼♀️ no one so far!

Keith wow man it seems like I'm committing alot but your so real ..My trailer is a 4×8 ,I drive a 2005 nissan Xterra with 210,000 miles and like I stated before my lawnmower and weed eater is on their last leg .Yes I even painted the trailer with spray paint .Seeing the other guys look at my trailer and lol doesn't even bother me because like you I'm a humbled man ;and in time God will bless me with something better .
v bee I. already do a lot of landscaping. but i also want to start mowing yard's. people around were i live are willing to pay 50$. just for mowing their lawns so im getting a lawn mower through horse tradeing once i make enough money I'm going to buy a weed eater and we'll I already found a pickup truck on letgo for 700$ all it needs is the engine rebilt. I know i can do this.

That could not be said any better. Ive started out a year ago with a mountain of debt and my dads old rusted equipment and a broom out of the back of my suv. Now I have 15 really good accounts, a ute, trailer, 2 mowers, 2 whipper snippers, a blower vac and pressure cleaner all bought with the cash I earnt from mowing. Im nearly debt free, got out of credit cards debt and old personal loans and on got $3000 left on my car. It can be done, its just hard work and dedication. Thanks for videos of wisdom from Keith Kalfas and Greg Chism.

I started a remodeling company way back when with my brother, we had peanuts for cash, so we picked up a $300 piece of crap Cargo Van if CL.
That van made us tons of cash, but was full of problems.
So yes, Keith is sharing his past experiences with us to show that you can start with not much $, but with an immense amount perseverance and action will get you through the most difficult times in your business.

Hey Keith I'm broke no job and I am starting a landscape business. The power of borrowing things or working side jobs to gain second hand equipment is awesome. I was able to acquire a Stihle hedge trimmer, and a Ryobe string trimmer by doing side work. I have a push mower that I am borrowing right now. I have my own Explorer that I put all of my equipement in,lol. Like I said I don't have a full time job, I have my own apartment , bills, and a ton of stress. But I am doing this. cause I have to do it, I want to do it. I am so tired of working for a small pay check, that is gone before the end of the week without being able to pay all of my bills, let alone buy food. I get what your saying cause I am seriously living it. Everything your saying is the truth. thank you so much your videos are inspirational to me.

when I started mowing, I was working full time in a cheese factory and found a Honda mower for sale and paid $30. The deck was so rusty I had to duck tape coffee can over the hole. After acouple lawns the duck tape was coming loose and blowing grass on me. I paid $1500 for a 84 dodge rust bucket. Ive got nice stuff now by doing what you talk about, It can be done.

When I started watching your videos bro I wasn't so sure. So I took what money I had and got a cheap Chinese mower and got a weed eater from a pawn shop and now I have a riding mower that I bought from a friend and I now cut 2 apartment complex and a dollar general store and a few houses when needed. Good money.. let me throw this out there. I'm only 19 lol. Best decision I have ever made!

Your video is inspirational and helpful. I'm in my beginning stages. I have 11 accounts and some crappy "Craig equipment", but I'm busting my ass and I never do a half ass job. My customers are bringing in more customers. I cut in the morning and work my 40 hr job in the afternoon. One day I will cut those ties and head out on my own. It's all a matter of "when". Thanks for the words of wisdom.

It was about 2 a.m. where I live and I began to realize that what I did whenever I was awake.. wasn't doing it. It is coming to a point where I think I'm exhausted of everything; screw all my small activities, all my Non-beneficial goals and anything else similar, as I do every week around the same time. I've read books, seen documentaries and this and that, but.. today, it feels like I've stumbled across someone who I could relate to. One who can explain his life in a way a 'guy like myself' would, who had the struggles I'm having. Anyways, I appreciate the videos you're putting up. For the first time in a while, I feel like "Man, maybe moving up in the world is actually realistic and I need to fall down. That despite things being embarrassing.. that has to come with being successful." And I thank you because I never thought about that. That there's nothing wrong with being Embarrassed with having crappy stuff or being in a crappy situation as long as you are trying to better yourself because that itself is not embarrassing. I agree. I am a independent plumber but did have a lawn mowing and land scaping and tree trimming business. It applies just as well to other trades, businesses.
@ 6:48... or a 13 year old Buick Lesabre pulling a $500 home made, trailer, $25 push mower and $25 trimmer like I did. now I have 2 trucks, 3 commercial grade mowers, 3 trimmers and 3 employees to help with our massive workload. If I can do this, anyone can!!!!

I started a window cleaning business back this past Feb after getting my water shut off while I was at work now I am in to pressure washing and doing pretty good I got a brand new trailer rig to do my house washing in I started with 75 bucks Keith you was my rock the whole time man

Love your videos man. This year will be my third season with my landscaping business(1st season part time). Last year started strong and due to personal reasons, employee issues and life ended last season in a low spot. I have been watching your videos for over a year now and they among other things give me the hope the motivation to continue. Keep up with the vids man. We appreciate it.

My 4yr old son wants to mow the lawn every day with his toy Husqvarna push mower even after We mow'd the night before he asks if we can do it again. When I go to the beach, we always mow my parents lawn and their neighbors lawn and he loves it - all free of charge since we stay there we do the lawns and people see us doing it and start asking us to do theirs as well... This Video has made me decide that if I create an on-the-side lawn care business now and he enjoy's it still it can be something that we can do together and give him some spending money growing up while still in school.
Keith your words are very powerful and encouraging. I just recently started my lawn care business last month after a long time waiting because i hesitated for so long. I have to thank you and Greg #Geek to freak fitness&Lawn care for the encouragement without you I would probably be still hesitating. This video is almost the perfect example of my situation I work a full time job with 3 children and my fiance lost her job a few months ago so I live paycheck to paycheck. But the good side of the story is I am starting off alot better than most people are because I already have a truck, riding lawn mower, push mower, and some other tools that were given to me. I also already made business cards and flyers. My last steps are establishing customers and getting insurance. Thanks again Keith.

started wit my dads ford ranger craftsman mower and Ryobi weed eater no blower just a push broom lol others used to stare and laugh but don't worry about those people either they are employees making some one profit at a dead end job or either they forgot were they came from. Now I am aiming at my 4th year in business and with all this knowledge ohh man believe me is on. GREAT VIDEO KEITH.

Just did. Made my first $500 in the last couple weeks while I do my normal job. Got a refurbished 7 hp honda self-propelled. Got a nice gas blower and weed wacker. Hand edger and some other tools. I've been using my car to do all this. I could really use a truck, but man it would be hard to give up my Charger. Faaack. Been doing as many jobs as I can. Need to do a newspaper ad. Got a lead on a truck at auction and an old wright stand up. Got a guy that refurbishes mowers, so he can make sure it doesn't fall apart on me. Wish me luck.

Awesome and inspirational video. I'm a mechanic and started buying cheap non running push mower's and weedeater. Fixed them up cheap and now have 3 mowers, and weedeater incase 1 fails. Now I finally have my own Facebook business page and it will take time and patience but like you said it only takes 1 customer.
it's scary how accurate this video is to my start up..i still have my 9 to 5 job but I'm getting more and more clients day by day.i cant wait to tell the boss bye👋.i actually think I'm ready but i want to get thru my 1st off season 1st.i went from my 22 inch toro to my 30 inch toro now today i got a 36 inch toro walk behind...awww man I'm high on life right now..the come up is happening!!! you are right when you say it's your priviledge to serve us that watch this video..thanks again i keep watching this video periodically and i see the growth and it's inspiring in all aspects of life.

Man I did hardscaping before I joined the military and now I'm a supervisor at a huge grounds management company and I'm still broke 15 an hour working 60 plus weeks. I've been thinking of going out on my own for a while now and this video has convinced me to do it. Thanks man.

Thanks for this video. I have been at my job now for 6 years and have been doing lawn care 2, well on my 3rd season now. I'm starting to get to the point where I'm ready to put my 2 weeks in and go full time with the lawn care. I have 21 accounts now and believe I can get way more!
Great video man! It makes me want to start a business, even though I have a few accounts already. I heard that thing about the trailer, and maybe for all the people who are thinking about an option for a truck, if there is one in someone'e price range, but a long bed is a LIFESAVER. Better road handling than a truck and trailer together, and sometimes cheaper than a little short bed truck. Just my two cents, and good luck to all the others out there starting out!

I started out with a lawn mower and weedwacker and a broom in my car, doing 3 lawns a week then it turned into 8 a week, and I bought a 7000$ truck I saved for , and from there I got new mowers and weed wackers, blowers tools... These videos inspire me cause Ik the struggle u went through and I gone through it and I can relate thanks!
