Just wanna say that discovering your website last year has completely changed my diet and lifestyle.
I discovered your recipes because I had met a lovely lady and wanted to cook for her to impress her and this was the one I landed on. It turned out amazing and was probably the best thing I've ever cooked.
Not only did this meal impress the lady (now my fiance) but it's inspired a love of cooking that I never knew I had.
Thank you Julia! So much for your amazing recipes and inspiring me to change my lifestyle to one filled with amazing home cooked goodness.

You can make it with chicken or turkey thighs but I would avoid breasts as they get too stringy when cooked for a long time. I would also reduce the cooking time to no more than 40 minutes.

WOW !

I noticed there is no wine (red or white) in this recipe. Wine adds a wonderful fruitiness and a bit of sweetness to the bolognese sauce.

Sometimes I add red wine if I have a bit leftover but not always. Whenever I share a recipe with alcohol in it the most common question seems to be how it could be substituted.

@@Vikalinka_by_Julia_Frey ok fair enough. Its just that bolognese is a required ingredient and makes the sauce go up a few levels :-)

I noticed that some recipes have milk ...???

    • @Vikalinka_by_Julia_Frey
      @Vikalinka_by_Julia_Frey  Před rokem +1

Yes, some people do add milk and it adds a little richness to the sauce but I prefer not to use it. Many lactose intolerant people in my house, so I don't see any need for it.

Spaghetti is a no. Small meat, big pasta. Pasta should Mach the sauce. No oil at the end if the plate once concum

You are right in Italy Bolognese is not served with spaghetti. However Spaghetti Bolognese or as it is also known Spag Bol is absolutely HUGE in the UK and is a dish everyone grew up eating and loving. Many dishes get adapted as they travel to other countries. As you can guess my audience is not Italian.

  • @rich3222

No garlic like you said and no herbs in the original either , you add the wine before the tomatoes , it has to be done that way or it isn't right .This isn't traditional , no black peppee either. Also would cook for 4 hours really but at least 3.Never use sugar. Also need to cook the pasta in the sauce. Its not the worst ive seen but Italians would not be happy.

I was kind of with you although I mentioned all of it in my video, so why repeat but you completely lost me once you mentioned you cook pasta in the sauce. That is absolutely inaccurate. You boil pasta in water. Italians boil pasta in water, then toss with the sauce. I have very close friends, who are Italians, not American Italians, actual Italians and they are very happy with my food. By the way, the sugar tip came from my Italian friend because our tomatoes aren’t good enough like theirs and too acidic.
