This episode was nuts they popped tf off!!
make sure you listen to all the credits to get the full song!
Just wait until the next 2 episodes
I love how everyone always sleeps a bit on Percy, then he does some wild shit and reminds people.
Remember the Movie Old Boy? đđđ
I will say it till the day I die, PERCY IS A MUTHAFUCKIN GANGSTA!!!!
âPike just kill herâ do not take relationship advice from Roshi yâall please

How do you think he got Sheera?
@@DiamondHeart144she threw ice at him
@@ChromaticEaglelmao
The âI would like to rageâ line is what Travis Willingham (Grogâs VA) would say to use his Rage ability while they were playing D&D so thatâs why that line is so hype for me. I was literally screaming when he said that shit bro. đ
i haven't watched the campaign but i'm imagining him just calmly saying "uh, yeah, i would like to rage, please" and then a few years later he's voicing Grog, yelling "I... WOULD LIKE TO... RAAAAGE!"
@@griffin8346 He does often yell it lmao
Another hype line that was used a few times in the campaign and a one-shot adventure was "Vox Machina, Fuck. Shit. UP!"
So good.
Travis is actually the best when it comes to his reactions to what happens in whatever campaign he's doing. In a mini-campaign he did set in the same universe (Exandria Unlimited: Calamity), there's a particular thing that's just SAID that he absolutely loses it to, and it's amazing. (Y'all who watched it know what I'm talking about. "Weakest.")
@@RabidDogma can you clarify, please? You made me super curious.
Kevdak: You should've gone for the hea- (gets cut in half)
Grog: Nah. This works for me.
Kayle's plan wasn't exactly "sick": she has absolutely no plans to be intimate with Scanlan. However, she DID know what kind of person he was/is and how best to get him into a compromised and vulnerable position. That's some bit of cleverness combined with dedication to her goal, because you could tell she was disgusted the entire time.
Its okay to say that Kaylie may also be acting a bit irrationally cuz this is the first time she's met her father and all she's ever had to go off was stories. Not everyone can be perfect and maybe she pushed it a BIT too far in order to make sure he wouldn't run.
@@mateobarrett6829 well he kinda proofed her point though by getting lured in and immediately undressing. so her reaction is fair.
Matt also revealed that Kaylee was a surprise to Sam/Scanlan so it was a "fitting" way to catch him unawares.
If Scanlan was known far and wide for his love of a juicy steak, she'd have baited him with a big, well cooked Ribeye laced with sleeping drugs.
If he was known for not being able to resist Draconian Poetry, guess who would be luring him into an indefensible position with Draconian Poetry.
Scanlan is a massive horndog. So the easiest way to catch him off guard is with a traditional honeytrap.
@@jos-josradvanji6203 Absolutely, they've both done fucked up shit, him more than her sure, but they both made mistakes.
Its okay to make mistakes btw, even if the internet doesn't think so. Nobody is perfect and things rarely happen perfectly.
The important part is what we learn from our mistakes / how we atone for them (if atonement needs to happen)
They absolutely nailed this show every step of the way. I don't think I was bored a single time
Same canât wait for next season
Yeah same this show needs at least 10 seasons
The fact scanlan singing and rocking out is a party buff for them is awesome.
Kevdak had these Titanstone Knuckles/
He wailed on Grog as he chuckled/
But while Kevin laughed/
Grog sliced him in half/
And said "These are mine now, fuckles!"
đđ
Who TF is Kevin? Why is he concerned here?
/jk I know its supposed to be Kevdak.
@@jled787 hey even Voldemort was named Tom
Fun fact: Scanlan's backstory is based on Eminem's life, Scanlan travelled along with Dr. Dranzel's (Dr. Dre) travelling troupe to support his single mother, Juniper. And the fact his daughter is named Kaylie and Em's being Hayley was actually a complete coincidence.
I love the bit about grog discovering what his strength is
The discussion after the episode đ
When the snow starts falling... They are going to have a rematch
I love the scanlan's songs this season... so freaking catchy
The "Rage" song in this ep goes so hard
Metal and DnD! Hell yeah. Do any of you know what the song at the end is?
This was the best episode by far, the animators went fuckin nuts on this fight
My name is also Sean and I agree 100%
The last episode has great animation but this is great as well
@@OhyeahMrKrabz To be honest the animation as a whole this season was superbly fantastic.
Outside of Arcane and The Bad Batch its the best animation I have seen. Not even sure its fair to compare them. Also art is highly subjective.
TLOVM is the best animated show I have seen. Better then Arcane, Avatar the Last Air Bender, Invincible and Attack on Titan. Which are 4 shows I also really enjoyed and have seen recently. (Within the last 18 months)
Campaign one: Sam is Daddy Issues
Campaign two: Sam is Mommy Issues
Campaign three: ??? FCG weâre watching you
Especially when Matt inadvertedly revealed that FCG's Patron isn't what you call "good" aligned.
Campaign 1: *BIG* mommy issues.
@@jled787 The Changebringer is chaotic good if i remember right. And FCG fliping a coin to see how she is is not exactly a reliable way to decide it. đ
Campaign three: straight up issues
Props to the show for not making any of VM feel redundant or useless. Very hard to pull off with a large main cast but (personally) i think everyone gets their chance to shine and grow
Yeah. I'm glad that they split the party before going to the fey realm, otherwise it would have been a lot more difficult to give them all moments to shine.
It's honestly thanks in part to Matt Mercer (the DM for the D&D campaign/host of Critical Role and the voice of a TON of characters in the show, since he had to voice them originally anyway). He made sure that every member of the party got to go through their own personal "side story" (Grog and the herd, Percy and Whitestone, Vex and Vax's dad, etc), and also made sure that they had plenty of opportunities to get their buffs and unique items. They're honestly so overpowered by the end it's ridiculous. Level 20 Percy during the one-shot near the end of Campaign 1 is actually goddamn insane. If you know you know.
@@RabidDogma I felt like that turn would never end.
@@Stefan-xt5sk the cramps in the animators drawing hands also thanks the story rewrites xD
Sad that Vax didn't get the big finish tho
For me this was one of the best episode this season , everything was perfect the fight the music, the i. Daddy in the end ,it was wholesome episode
It is hilarious that Scanlan's backstory is literally just ripped off from Eminem...but then his daughter being named Kayley was a complete coincidence at the time!
âNot much of a cover if you can just walk right in there,â
I mean, have yâall ever seen a dragon walking a dirt road?!
That "Vox Machina... fuck.. shit... UP!!!!" line is ICONIC. In the game the battle was planned, this show made it far more badass. Not to say the og wasnt baddass, it fucking was
Scanlan is down horrendous. Bro tried to sleep with his own kid. đ
Sweet Home Alabama
If she seduces you and you have no clue that you even have a daughter... eh. I wouldn't say that this is worse than trying to sleep with any other person. She almost looks like a 1:1 copy of him though so that is weird.
@@Stefan-xt5sk but shouldnât she be significantly younger than him? thatâs creepy as fuck
@@jos-josradvanji6203 D&D gnomes have longer live spans of 350-500 years, but reach adulthood at around the same rate as humans. Scanlan is 69 (because of course he his). Kaylie studied for three years in a Bard college and is probably close to 30. They are both still relatively young.
I'm not surprised Grog didn't die from that stab, Goliaths have more health than most races in DnD.
Plus Rage can give you temp hit points. Heck, there are abilities that allow you to keep fighting past zero hp...until Rage ends, then...well...not so good.
@@thedarkstarr11 Didn't know that one. I'm a Goliath monk in me and my friends game
Hp isn't dependent on the choice of species in dnd. The only benefit a Goliath gets is a special ability to reduce incoming damage once per long rest. It's called stone's endurance. Otherwise, hp is solely based on class choice and current level.
â@thedarkstarr11 rage does not give you temp hp. Unless there's a specific subclass that does so. Rage functionally double your hp total against slash, bludgeoning, and peirce damage because you gain resistance to those attacks. Reducing the damage by half.
His skin stretching far before he gets fully impaled was a nice touch to show how tough he is.
Pretty much exactly how the reveal who Kaylie was in the stream. Was a real wake up call for Scanlan to get his shit together.
The power of friendship with a dash of rage.
While the human sized party was having the time hiccup, Grog Pike and Scanlan were traveling across the mountains, the whole montage song was taking place in between thatâs how I made sense of it at least
Letâs go!!!! Grogâs most insane fight!!! The Vox Machina pull up colder than the Avengers Assemble!!
"Grog is dead from that."
Lol flesh wound to a Barbarian that took like 30hp at most from his almost 200....
"Catch daddy lacking" had me rolling, holy shit
YASSSSSS I've been waiting for this episode broâđŸâđŸâđŸâđŸ Grogg screaming them into battle had me in TEARS man. GID TIER episode
This is hands down the best fight they've done so far. Can't wait for season 3, animators popped tf off
Probably my fav episode of the whole show. The battle with accompanying original music went so hard I was hyped af
Best episode of the series so far. Big ups to titmouse on this one. That shot of percy on the roof with the fire behind him is one of the rawest animated shots Iâve ever seen.
Is it me or did the fight in EP 10 of Vox Machina give at lot of Castlevania (Netflix) vibes? The Father and Son "exchange", the villain ripping his arm off then throwing it at a protagonist, creative usage of magic/elements, etc.
I think it's because castlevania has a lot of ttrpg vibes.
Castlevania aired around 2021. The campaign session where everything in this episode happened was back in 2016. So really Castlevania was giving Critical Role vibes
The fight animations this season have been crazy good! I can't wait for the next season đ
Kevdak should have outlined more rules if he wanted a 1v1 lmao
It ends if someone dies. That rule doesn't specify that the death has to be from one of the duelists xD
@@Stefan-xt5sk Technically you can argue that it ended when Pike killed the dude who tried to grab her
7:24 Percy looks like Vash from Trigun.
...while a metal song plays in the background.
â@@happyslapsgiving5421 Right, right.

Scanlan legit says "I'm okay with being called daddy if the occasion suits", that shit was just painful, the biggest oof!
He was just making a fist lol, not everything is pocket sand
fun fact: travis was sick with a headcold when he recorded the last half of the fight with kevdak, and he wanted to rerecord his lines, but everyone said it worked because he sounded like he just had the shit kicked outta him
It's truly awesome how much of the show is a direct representation of what happened in the actual campaign
Was waiting for this episodeâs reaction đ„
In the campaign, Scanlan actually started the strongjaw chant with a spell, which is why Scanlan was shown chanting with the rest.
You can hear the fully Shimmi I song during the credits fyi
Seen so many people saying this was the best fight but alot that never saw the campaign don't realize this was actually a fight they were meant to lose and by sheer luck and crazy ideas they ended up winning.
I thought Sheera had already reached the level of Scanlan's dick jokes and would understand the last line of the song at the victory party, but it looks like it's too early...
Magical Items in D&D automatically resize to the user (armor, weapons anything really)
gotta respect grog for still being able to throw hands with bearly any muscle and god dam was the poke ball theory(can you put anything in a poke ball) sick as hell to watch in action
It's a spell called Enlarge that boost a person height and strength
the capturing Grog and launching him over Kevdak was the actual Vex and grog play in the D&D campaign too. The players having fun are better than half of Hollywood.
I've never been to your channel, but right off the bat, that intro is awesome!
Nah I think for most of those 3 weeks, Grog and Co were just on their way to Pop Pop.
All magical powers are represented.
Nature.
Divinity.
Music.
Gun?
When the fight starts and lupa' like "ah dude blood haha" .....ahh poor innocent lupa, keep watching...there so much more to come
Btw:
The blind dude (Earthbreaker Groon) is the Dawn Marshal of Kord, the god of battle competition and storms. And Kord is also the God, who created the Titanstone Knuckles.
So in a way, Grog got tought a lesson in the ways of Kord before he could get the Knuckles.
I really wished for a slow-mo anime style slice of Kev-dak as Matt described Travis did it in the campaign, shaving off his ear, continuing, leaving just his jaw bone exposed, before it going real time and Grogs body slamming into the ground body destroyed, smiling then face planting, but this was good too.
You know what makes the scene with Scanlan and Kaylee more weird?
Sam Riegel: "Watching this scene with your kids."
"HOW DID YOU EXPLAIN THIS!?!"
Sam: "It was very difficult..."
Been waiting for this one to drop. Great reactions, as always.
At the end of the episode you have the whole song that Scanlan sings. Its really catchy x3.
Another good line that they subbed out was Grog to Kevdak âThe mighty Kevdak bending the knee to a dragon. I must ask do you also squat when you piss now?âđđ
7:18 looks like no mercy percy is back
...did i hear a "*GRIFFITH!*" at 4:53 ? bruh. why you gotta hit me with that
Time To Bring Down The Thunder- Lord
- Kevdak a Goliath Barbarian / Fighter & father to Zanroar / brother to Stonejaw / Uncle to Grog is voiced by Ralph Inson who was Dagmer (Game of Thrones), Amycus (Harry Potter franchise), Chris Finch (The Office), & many more
- Zanier is voiced by Abubakar Salim who was the voice of Bayek of Siwa (Assassin's Creed)
- Kaylie is a forest Gnome bard voiced by Aisling Franciosi who was Lyanna (Game of Thrones)
Vax fumbling Keyleth hurt my soul bro
*Grog beats Kevdak and drops his health to 0*
Kevdak: Adorable. Tiny Grog still has some fight in him.
*Kevdak slams his Titanstone Knuckles together, sending a surge of electricity through his body as it grows to more than double its normal size. Above his head, Kevdakâs health bar refills as his name changes to Thunderlord Kevdak.*
Thunderlord Kevdak: Oops. Looks I do too.
7:14 better than pocket sand every time
Scanlan and grog has become my favorite in this season so far
And can I recommend you to watch inside job, it's an amazing show
Grog and Scanlan really were the heart and soul of C1.
Love you guys so much that I was rewatching an machina reaction video right when you uploaded this oneđ
My favorite episode of the whole season
I don't care WHAT my parent did...that is not the plan!
Never get between a man and his gnome.
I still feel like theyâre (edit: Roshi & co.) either underestimating the dragons or over estimating what one vestige can do. Cuz umbrasyl would absolutely body a Titan stone knuckle Grog in a 1v1.
Yeah it's less a case of "We can kill a dragon now!" and more a case of "We're not gonna be able to keep the Herd around very long and we have no idea if we'll ever get the drop on a dragon again, let's chance it."
@@Taliesin_ understood but I was also referring to roshi and company not the characters. He made a comment wondering why kevdak (with the knuckles) wouldn't just start a fight with umbrasyl that had me concerned they still don't know how ancient dragons are THE problem in d&d. But hopefully they get it with the fight that's about to come.
@@Shugoshin9720 Ahh, gotcha. Yeah spot on - those might be some mighty shiny gloves, but it's still food wearing 'em.
I saw a comment that called Grog's development arc 'Grog of War' and that is the most fitting name I've ever seen
Okay Iâm new here, but that opening is fire my guy! Def got a sub for reacting to this show!
3:19 Conquest ( Invincible ) VS Kratos ( GOW )
Kevdak hit Grog with the Hoarah Loux
The full song Scanlan and Kaylie is played during the end credits.
VM went off all S2 long
1V1?
Nah it was 1/Glove V 1 so its only fair Grog called in the sqaud
The timelines line up because in the 3 weeks the one group was gone, the others were having a traveling montage.
The challenge, the call to VM, the pokeball tactic and final blow, exactly like in the stream. Also, "At dawn we plan," and, "We're all cows." Kaylie's reveal - except the nudity and bondage - also pretty much like the stream. You should find that clip from the livestream for everyone's reactions.
Oh very fun fact about Gnomes from D&D, they can live for Hundreds of years and im pretty sure scanlan once said he was like still under his first century around his 80s or 60s so it seems creepy when thinking about humans but he is still technically in his teens and just reaching his early 20s
Yes and no; as they mature as the same pase as humans; both Kayle and Pike are near their 30's (Pike is a bit older) and are considered full adults... also, Scanlan ALLWAYS has spoken to the rest saying he is WAY older than them and that he has lived and experienced all. His attitude is lots of times of the bitter crancky old man he trully is... but because his coping mecanism is of pure scapism and survible mode; he just takes the 'The world doesn't care about me; so I won't care about the world'; and that's why he seems like a crazy teenager some times; not because he is not emotionally mature.. but because acting inmaturelly is his way of not falling into a depression.
That's why when he allows his facade to fall down (like with the Sphinx) he shows he has the wisdom of his longs years... but in his day to day he borrows that wisdom VEEEERY deep
I just finished watching y'all Last of Us episode 6 reaction, then I get hit with the Vox Machina notification. Good times.
Oh man, you could have heard the whole song during the credits of this episode.
I genuinely want Grog as a guest character in the next Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter game! And I want his finisher to be that axe chop from the sky with the moon behind him while he screams âI would like to RAAAAAAAAAAAGE!â
I've been a long time fan of Critical Role (used to time stamp the vids when they came out).
Seeing this animated is INSANE. I've been holding off on watching the show, but if they're already at THE KILL BOX?? I might need to watch!
You gotta watch it
This episode randomly isn't in the playlist
Scanlan is 69 years old btw.
this is my favorite episode of the show so far
Kaylie beat Scanlan at his own game đ€Ł
You could have heard the lyrics to Scanlans song if you let the credits play.
Look at home girls eyes. She's lit as fk lol
I would love to see you guys react to the mini campaign EXU Calamity. I know itâs long but itâs well worth it. Itâs the prequel to Vox Machina btw
Grog and Scanlan are the goats of this squad
They missed the "At dawn, We plan" so upsetting
As I said the fight in this episode is a banger Iâm glad the gang agrees đ
Next episode 1000 years of death!
This was one of the **best** fights in there 1st campaign for Critical Role. The may have changed some things around during the season; but this was sooo satisfying to watch it go down in animation. I'm still completely shocked at how well they've managed to adapt there story telling and roleplaying to animated form from the table. Amazon was absolutely right to give them a season 3 and judging by the fact they just signed a deal for a Campaign 2 (Might Nein) animated series and a possible movie for there one shots (or Exandria Unlimited content).
To think this all started with Liam O`Brien (Vax) just wanting to play a game of D&D with some colleagues is wild.
Why isnât this episode in the playlist I was confused I thought CZcams took it down
1:57 nah thatâs not the same Wakandaâs is a whole ass force field
