This may be the best Scenic Cruiser Restoration/Conversion I've ever seen. I looked into the feasibility of such a project many years ago and after studying the project I decided it was not practical. What this craftsman did in raising the roof and lengthening the coach is nothing short of genius due to the original design and engineering.
SharpEnuff I think you are dead on! What a gorgeous vehicle! Beautiful craftsmanship inside and out. Too bad the camerawork was not better to really see what was going on inside.
This has to be one of the best home made bus conversions I have ever seen in my life !!! I know about these things because I converted a 1984 MC9 and it was a lot of work ! This looks like a palace compared to mine. The really impressive part is the engine transplant !!! To change a V drive to a T drive I here is a lot of work !!! That coach must fly up a steep hill with a series 60 !!! I have a 6V92T and I'm down to 25 mile per hour on a hill ! Amazing Amazing work !!! Congrats !!!
LMAO.... I'm watching this in 2022 to get some ideas for my own Scenicruiser conversion. I'm guessing back in 2012 when this was made it wasn't common knowledge not to flip your cameraphone back and forth between portrait and landscape! Beautiful rig though, and I love your layout! Thanks for the ideas!
GREAT Job on the bus, awesome work. I so love these things. I spent Spring break and the summer of 1981 driving one of these for a bicycle tour group. The front was standard but the rear was all bunks, triple deck. We went as far south as Key West, west as San Francisco, east as Halifax Nova Scotia and north to Michigan's U.P. Awesome to drive and dead quiet up front. Our bus was almost all white and nicknamed 'Moby Bus'.
Hi Im from NZ and own a 30 foot Motor Home. I have to join the chorus, WOW! What a wunderful, streamlined and sleek coversion inside and out. Professionally equipped with beautiful fittings and of cause abrand new detroiter.. Exterior paint gives it a clean sleek look Just a stunning tribute to the iconic interstate cruiser, that is Greyhound. Grace, pace and american built safe! WOW over and over.......
I would love to see a video of this bus that I didn't have to tilt my head and could actually slow down and view!! Absolutely STUNNING coach!!! AMAZING JOB!!!
Like, this video is hosed because some portions have its image rotated ninety degrees. Despite the video itself being hosed, it depicts a wonderful bus restoration/conversion. Way to go, babe!
So you think that sentence ends "you found you are calling" Your, not you're is correct. Sorry, just wanted to see a better vid of that bus, it's the coolest GMC custom I have ever seen, not trolling.
Your exchange with ThaBusDriver is comedy gold, louis! (or is it you're?) :) You often see people pointing out the, "Your/You're" mistake.....This the first time I've seen, "You're/Your!!!! But then, I scroll down to the next set of comments and we get the classic... " just messing. your good"!!!!! Holy Crap.....pretty funny! There are quite a few comments about the sideways video and TBD has gotten sensitive about them. Obviously, the vid was shot with a cell phone....(one of the hazards of shooting cell phone video)!
That's a beutiful motohome and best part new motor and it's all done in one place its something that will never go out of style vintage but all mechanical parts new.
Lol.. I didnt even notice the fact that it was sideways till i read the comments :) great build. The owner seemened..not camera freindly? Or..not very inviting. Really love the work on it. Beautiful build
From what I could see after turning my head sideways to straight then back again...was this is a magnificent bus! it's my dream, I would love a bus like this one day. Probably wont get it but I can dream :)
that was more than a restoration, a customization is what it was. That had to be in the 300K range for all that work, someone that specifically wanted them would buy it
Vomit inducing camera work. Whoever told you that would be a good idea should be fired immediately!!! The bits that are right side up look quite nicely done.....couldn't really stomach the other bits...... nice and shiny!!
wow this is beautiful. great craftsmanship. this is a project a lot of people would love to do, but very few get the opportunity. its stunning. looks like how i would want it done. you appreciate our interest in it and we appreciate you for sharing! thank you!
Very nice. It's like a Hot Rod RV. Must have taken a lot of work to raise the roof and stretch the body. Can you post in your description what year and month the Bus Conversion magazine covered your conversion and if it's available to read online?
what great talent. this is what made America Great. where is your shop that you created this beautiful artwork. we drove rout 66 in the 50s from Indiana to Oklahoma. visiting family every holiday. I well remember these Busis. thank you for sharing.
wow very very nice work i wish my over price pos beaver was built with the quality of this ! never mind the bad camera my phone did the same thing after i uploaded it to shutterfly !
Awesome Purrfext exterior Stainless Steel work and what an engine! Interior is decent but needs Italian modem spacious cabinetry like Leisure Travel's but again, impressive exterior!
Yeah I wish we could actually SEE the bus.. It would be sweet if manufacturers would remake vintage style buses. Just modernize the drivetrain and insides..
How much of this work did you do yourself and what kind of $ invested? I was looking for ideas, I'm about to take on a 4104 or eagle. I'm attracted to both because of the look, obviously the skirting is a big part of that. What made you chose to change it to stainless, easier maintenance and higher shine? I had intentions of polishing the skirting on whichever bus I got, not sure how to polish stainless but I have done aluminum before, but maybe replacing it would be easier long term?
Fabulous bus ... However, the cameraman needs a new profession!!
Nah, just do what your dog does. Tilt your head sideways and the video looks just fine!
Nice bus absurd camera work!

LMAO....

Some people say that's a criminal offence filming like that.... Personally I think it shows creativity. Surreal.
That is beautiful, wow
Top shelf Job.
I hope your still enjoying this wonderful
Creation.
Should have flipped the camera upside down for best super HD quality.
I was thinking the same thing. I mean he went this far, might as well give it super resolution with upside down photography.
I truly take my hat off to you. What an amazing job you've done.Absolutely beautiful bus
thank you!
Ya kware just enjoy, an not always find something to grin about, I bet you couldn't restore the lid off a bottle...

Wow...I would love to watch but the camera work is NOT GOOD!!!
Been seeing this bus for years at Carlisle, finally glad to see the insides. You should be REAL proud of what you've accomplished!!!
Frank feroeqinologist thank you it will be there this year again
Absolutely beautiful.
The most beautiful Scenicruiser on the road!
What a phenomenal bus. Great job on the restoration. A classic still lives on
I don't usually comment on youtube, but this is a FANTASTIC creation.
I really would love to see the interior of this beauty filmed by a competent cameraman.
I would love to see a video of this bus that I didn't have to tilt my head and could actually slow down and view!! Absolutely STUNNING coach!!! AMAZING JOB!!!
Wow, this bus is incredible!!! Really awesome RV conversion!
that thing is sweet , looks so bad ass , nice head turner
Very nice grayhound bus restoration
Like, this video is hosed because some portions have its image rotated ninety degrees. Despite the video itself being hosed, it depicts a wonderful bus restoration/conversion. Way to go, babe!
This is the best vintage scenic cruiser I've ever seen !
Amazing cinematography, cameraman, you found your calling
louis malinak amazing writing you found "you're" calling as a writer minus learn how to troll correct with spelling next time.
So you think that sentence ends "you found you are calling" Your, not you're is correct. Sorry, just wanted to see a better vid of that bus, it's the coolest GMC custom I have ever seen, not trolling.

TO GET IT TO COME BACK ...... wow, more understatements ....
That's a beutiful motohome and best part new motor and it's all done in one place its something that will never go out of style vintage but all mechanical parts new.
my neck hurts after watching this !
Very stylish and impressive, turning alu into stainless, lifting the roof and then expanding the whole thing ... wow!
Klaus Hildner thank you it took us a bunch of failed attempts to put the panels on right esp since they were so expensive sheets
An amazing bus Mr. McNeal.
loved that bus but what up with the camera man ?????????😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😒
That man is incredible what with all he did with this magnificent coach.
Sir, you are a craftsman! I don't think a lot of people realize how much work you did to that thing.
thank you god bless
PLEASE Mike, don’t call this amazing pease of ART a thing, have a heart
Too bad the cameraman didn't know what the hell they were doing.
What is the cameraman smoking?
Absolute perfection! Just a wonderful job, and it shows!
It hurts my neck to look at it but it's a gorgeous bus
Sideways video? Really?
sideways comment really?
+theblane2001 well obv we didnt know that would happen. but u are more than welcome to build youre own bus and we would love to see the video.
You're awesome!
Lol.. I didnt even notice the fact that it was sideways till i read the comments :) great build. The owner seemened..not camera freindly? Or..not very inviting. Really love the work on it. Beautiful build
This is what I was planning on doing somewhere down the road. It looks better than I could ever have imagined.
BRAVO....SUPER NICE
Fantastic coachwork, a real joy to look at!
That thing is beautiful, inside and out
nice restoration. I like the way it shines
Dang. Only gets 9 miles to the gallon. Gotta have some BIG BUCKS to own and operate this. Very nice renovation.
my ford ranger only gets 15mpg.
From what I could see after turning my head sideways to straight then back again...was this is a magnificent bus! it's my dream, I would love a bus like this one day. Probably wont get it but I can dream :)
I want that bus too. But I know they are rare so the chances of me getting one (in Australia) is 1/1000000
That's beautiful ! Nice job.
that was more than a restoration, a customization is what it was. That had to be in the 300K range for all that work, someone that specifically wanted them would buy it
i remember riding in these in 60s
Beautiful.
GREAT job, thank you for sharing.
Vomit inducing camera work. Whoever told you that would be a good idea should be fired immediately!!! The bits that are right side up look quite nicely done.....couldn't really stomach the other bits...... nice and shiny!!
The exterior and paint are top notch. The old dated oak interior not so much. but it must look the beauty on the highway.
wow this is beautiful. great craftsmanship. this is a project a lot of people would love to do, but very few get the opportunity. its stunning. looks like how i would want it done. you appreciate our interest in it and we appreciate you for sharing! thank you!
What a boat!
We have this saying in NZ "Yeah Nah" it means not good, not good at all !! That award goes to your cameara man !!
Nice bus, would have been a good video if the camera man didn't keep turning the camera sideways.
Beautiful Bus
Beautiful machine
Beautiful restoration!
Thats awesome.
That thing was awesome , camera man was smoking something !
One hell of a hot bus but the cameraman needs his eyes check
Very nice !!! Show.
Wow nice job sir. My dream coach
The cameraman was like a duck using it's mouth and just turning it upside down
Absolutely badasssss
Why was the camera held sideways?Really hard to see something with that bad angle.
Very nice. It's like a Hot Rod RV. Must have taken a lot of work to raise the roof and stretch the body. Can you post in your description what year and month the Bus Conversion magazine covered your conversion and if it's available to read online?
I felt like I was experiencing a roll over!
Great job.
Dreams can come true, it can happen to you.
Nice coach but you sure need a new photographer.
Super-awesome Conversion!
What a beauty. I agree - reshoot the video, please!
what great talent.
this is what made America
Great.
where is your shop that you created this beautiful artwork.
we drove rout 66 in the 50s from Indiana to Oklahoma. visiting family every holiday.

Magnificent creation.
Gorgeous Bus ... STUNNING ... too bad the camera shooting was so horrendous.
Great job,
love the bus really cool. but Cameraman your fired. i was getting seasick
incredible job!
Beautifully done. I especially like the stainless steel exterior. Very nicely done. How much are you asking?
Giving a thumbs down because of the camera angle, whos idea was that? Had to stop 1/3rd into it cause I got tired of it.
Wow that is a super beautiful bus great taste i love how they restored it every detail? How much is it worth?
Human race for the win. Awesome.
this is a great dream! :)
but not the camera man. his work is a nightmare...
Much respect to the skills put in to rebuilding this old beauty...sadly, the video is sacked by the rookie cameraman.
It's absolutely gorgeous. Where is your shop and do you offer Green, eco-friendly materials for interiors?
I like how the Owner can walk on the walls. He's Vert talented guy. LOL
How much of this work did you do yourself and what kind of $ invested? I was looking for ideas, I'm about to take on a 4104 or eagle. Very nice
beautifully done. bravo
PD 4501 number 516. I have seen this bus at Carlisle parked outside of gate 3 a couple of times.
Yes that's my dad hopefully we will be there this year
cant imagine that amount of time and money in that thing. impressive
