In 1972 I began a 29 yr. career starting out as a charter coach driver then latter a tour coach driver. In 1975 My company bought me my first new coach. A1975 GMC or “Buffalo”. Thought I had arrived, then came the Prevost. Drove Prevost from 1979 till my 2001.The year I retired. Your first will always be special, but nothing compares to the Prevosts I drove.
I started a long 34 yr career as a over the road bus driver in 72 and got my first new coach in 75. It was a 40 ft GM coach just like this one. Loved that coach. Drove this till 1980 when. My company put me in my first of many Prevost. That’s when I realized what a real bus was like. Your first new coach will stay with you forever
I absolutely love the quality of this build!! It is a literal house on wheels==with an outstanding garage!! Ohhhh the naps I could have riding on this baby!!
Wow, what a conversion job. very surprised with how much work was done and what they have added. Spitl air/heat, room air in the master. Just a big surprise.
Yvan found it convent to mix his grey and black water into one tank, my RV was designed with two separate tanks. I dump the black tank, then I flush the fittings and the hose with the contents of the grey tank, giving the hose a nice rinse out. I have $35,500 in my used Newmar and we absolutely love it. Ron W4BIN
This is an amazing bus/conversion, and an amazing couple. I had the pleasure of meeting Yvan and Sylvie at a converted bus rally in Titusville, FL in January 2019 and got a tour of the bus.
I drove two of these commercially on charters and tours from Ontario, one was a '74 with air throttle the other a '75 with mechanical linkage...you had to adjust your shifting when going from one to the other. 4905 models I think...used to be lots of them on the road. In '82 I started driving an MC8 then an MC9 they were heavier and not as lively on the road. Also drove a few Eagles...I think they were my Favorites.
its no Liberty or Marathon, but i gotta say, very cool conversion for a bus almost 50 years old. looks like an old "CONTINENTAL TRAILWAYS" (greyhound main competition back then) bus from back on the day. lots of modern/tech upgrades on a cool vintage bus. Yvan sounds like he knows what the heck he is doing. very gracious of him to take the time to share with us. another great vid Andrew, and as always, stay safe and give Sadie some love for me.
As the owner of an early 90’s commercial Prevost conversion (Royale Coach, Monaco), and with friends who have other commercial conversions, including a Liberty, the fact that Yvan and Sylvie’s bus is not a Prevost, and not a Liberty or Marathon conversion, is not necessarily a bad thing. The Prevost bus/shell is a very sophisticated (complex) platform and these luxury conversions tend to have overly complicated systems, all in the name of “luxury.” And they tend to use very heavy materials, again, all in the name of “luxury.” Most DIY conversions tend to be simpler, and built in a way that allows them to be much more easily serviced at lower cost. As a friend of mine says “I built this the way I did because I know the idiot that has to fix it.”
Yvan is French Canadian from Quebec(like me), so he knows how to pronounce PREVOST. Nice bus restoration, unique look inside (not for everybody), modern hardware, solar power technology, overall well done and efficient. I use a BERKEY water filtering system, I stopped buying bottle water, my city water is clean and tastes great. Thanks Andrew for sharing. Your channel offers cool & unique content.
Yvan, your home is beautiful, very well thought out. Andrew, great interview. How did it feel to be up close & personal next to his 47 year old beauty. I wish I had thought of an older coach, with all that underbelly real estate. Yvan, really GREAT job.👍
It runs great, we just rebuilt it, and have driven 4000 miles since, no issues at all, lots of power and no leaks. FYI this isn’t a 4106, it’s a 4905A. czcams.com/video/9aimBkbHp3s/video.html
You make fabulous videos...such positive free as possible, but wise income creating folks and so many possibilities you share at a nice level...God Bless. This man was great. Thanks so much Andrew! I liked that industrial metal not my thing..he could add so much of the lovely wood and painted cabinet look...such a great tour and guy.
Thanks for featuring our bus Andrew. If anyone wants to learn more the complete build is chronicled on Facebook facebook.com/lacroixcruiser/. We are now starting to convert our third bus, and we will be showing the process both on Facebook and CZcams. czcams.com/video/lZ85rKOT0xA/video.html
Andrew Hyman we used truck bed liner. As detailers if it was painted we would always be polishing it.this way it always looks clean, and we can laugh at branches as they scrape down the length of our coach.
engineheatprotection.com/engine-heat/yvan-lacroix-article-from-bus-conversion-magazine-regarding-ehp-rollboard/ We are using it in our new bus as well.
It has a Detroit Diesel 8V71TA engine, 2-stroke cycle, turbo aftercooled, mechanical (no engine computer). Yvan recently completed a rebuild of the engine with the help of DD guru Cliff Allen and Gary Hatt, publisher of Bus Conversion Magazine. Yvan has a whole series of videos on the rebuild. Just search CZcams for “Yvan Lacroix” and you can see a lot of the work. Very well done videos.
I love old school buses....Nicely done my friend.
Thanks
Nicely done bus. Well thought out to use every square inch of space efficiently! Thanks Andrew!
Awesome coach. Thank you Yvan and Andrew. Happy trails!

Good job brother. i been in the coach industry for twenty years man. More on the passenger side until I bought my own Prevost.
Love the paint texture. Looks like bedliner paint only blue.
Correct it’s Protex Bedliner

Nicer buses. This bus is NICE
This site is the company Yvan refers to when talking about insulation if anyone was curious: engineheatprotection.com/bus/
Picked up several excellent ideas... Thank you both, gentlemen.
So weird seeing him without the bow tie and sports jacket!!
The Detailing Studio it happens when I’m not detailing.
Yvan does have a “style” and an image to go with it. :-)
2 thumbs up on this. Great video
Félicitations! Yvan. Quelle ingéniosité.
Louis Lefebvre merci, c’est un travaille de couple.

We should have been given a view of the motor engine section and received a drive around the block to see how this GM 4106 runs
It runs great, we just rebuilt it, and have driven 4000 miles since, no issues at all, lots of power and no leaks.

Awesome bus, I’d like more info on the 1/8 ceramic insulation and the mini split a/c could you please share your knowledge?
Not my style in any way lol, but he did an AMAZING job on this. Wow- very impressive. And 👏👏👏👏 for correct Prevost pronunciation!! 😄 - MJ
Is that same couch Greyhound ran forever? I rode it as a small boy from Glendale Ca to Butte Montana. Over 60 years ago.
Thanks for featuring our bus Andrew. If anyone wants to learn more the complete build is chronicled on Facebook facebook.com/lacroixcruiser/. We are now starting to convert our third bus, and we will be showing the process both on Facebook and CZcams.

Ah. You left out the beautiful engine rebuild he just finished. He certainly knows how to do DIY conversations properly.
Shoot!!!! Don't know how I left that out! Got so sidetracked I totally spaced that.
Mark Bond thanks yes, for those wondering it’s powered by an 8V71TA 2 stroke Detroit Diesel.
Just search “Yvan Lacroix” on CZcams and see the videos he made on the engine rebuild.
Check out his channel. (Also check my channel out for the 8v71 engine replacement I did on my GM bus at the same place)

@@LacroixCruiser Thank you Sir!!
Are does types of bus all wheel drive?
What was the ceramic insulation? I'm interested in that if it doubles r value in 1/8 inch.
engineheatprotection.com/engine-heat/yvan-lacroix-article-from-bus-conversion-magazine-regarding-ehp-rollboard/ We are using it in our new bus as well.
Nice video can I ask what motor you have ? And what kind of mileage do you get ? Thank you

the blue looks like house paint
CrossRoads it’s truck Bedliner
“nicer buses” 😂
I give him credit; he did a kick-butt job on this RV but this is not my taste at all.
Stephen Pruszenski the fun part of doing this ourselves is we could tailor it to our needs. We know it’s not a conventional look, but it’s ours.
@@LacroixCruiser As long as it serves your needs, good for you. Nice job on updating the storage bays.
I hate those round sinks, they're impossible to do dishes in.
For us it’s never been a problem.
No TV? I'm out
ak Andrew edited it out I guess, we have a pico laser projector and an 80 inch screen.
