In our quest for seeking out a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle, we made a plan that includes zero waste living, tiny home living and full-time travel. We considered buying an RV, looked at trailers and airstreams but settled on doing a bus conversion for our off the grid, tiny house on wheels. We bought a 1996 MCI 102 D3 coach bus and with the Bus Demolition and Interior Shell complete, now we turn it into our Tiny Home on Wheels!

In its previous life, our MCI bus was used as a school bus, although we don't think we can legitimately call it a skoolie. We are confident that converting our bus into a class a motor home will have challenges, but doing a massive overhaul and remodel on a motorhome / RV remodel didn’t seem to align with the off grid bus life we were aiming for.
In Season 4 we share the interior build as we turn it into our home.

Time and again whilst watching people build their bus home or living in their created home on wheels, I see the friendliness, comradeship, and willingness to help others, it is so heartwarming to see such happiness on peoples faces, absolutely wonderful,.. Yet another great video.. xxx
Thanks so much Trisha! We have been blown away by this community❤️
The bus community is really just a great neighborhood, that the front and backyards change, but the people are always great.
Such a great episode - And I have a crossover comment! Don - If you recall, I am also a fan of Sample Library Review - A while back I built a "Laptop Board" to mount my laptop, Focusrite, external HD and power strip so I could have a portable guitar VST interface that I could bring wherever I might play/record - So your "Water Board" looks brilliant to me! 😁
Hey Thomas, your Laptop Board sounds amazing! What a great idea. are you using for live gigs or studio work?
@@Rehabit8 Thanks - I use it for both, but I have to drag my amp along when it's a live gig 😁
Two of my favorite couples! Doesn't get any better than this!
Thank you
ah that makes me smile
I'm glad you got some help on your water system board. I loved the tour their bus and how they their stuff situated. I'm.glad when you get yours done. Can't wait to see another video.
Thank you
This is downright thrilling to watch! Boy-oh-boy, what a difference it makes to have genius help wrapped up with good humor! It’s wonderful to see you two happy and enjoying the build again!
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is so awesome that you are getting help. Especially from someone who has pretty much has figured everything out.
They have been such champions helping us!
Thank you!
This was fun! Definitely the boost you both needed 👍👏💪😊
Now if we just get them on the road!
@@LacroixCruiser maybe we could all give a push from behind!
Yes it was!
Another great video with great content. I think it is great to have friends like this. So glad they gave you a break, mentally and physically. You all kick butt. Sending love and hugs to all.
Thanks Jen

This will get you more ideas for your bus build , and also help with things like keeping the fridge closed . I am so glad you guys introduced them to us . Great video you guys !
Thank you!
Our pleasure! Thanks Sharon
Your bus is coming along so well, It was good to have help this week. The plumbing side of it will help you a great deal, Having that Removeable board is great. Not long now and your bus will be ready for your first adventure,
yay!
Hopefully sooner than later.
So nice to have some help building your dream bus home.
It was fun helping them, we want to see their travel adventures sooner than later.
Such great coaching and support. Love the Lacroix family and builds. Congrats
Thank you!
Love both bus conversations. So jealous I want one now. They had a lot of great ideas for your bus. This is how people should treat each other all the time. Every one has knowledge in certain areas. I learn something new everyday and every video I watch. So thanks for sharing 👍..
Thank you!
I like the water management wall. Will make life easier later on ones you on the road. Tot volgende week
ons dink ook so!😉
All warranties are tail light warranties, it's only good as long as the tail lights are in sight as your leaving the store where you purchased it
Unfortunately true
Turn the pressure tank around where the line from the filter goes straight into the pressure tank FIRST! The way it is now the water will go to the lines that are being turned on/used BEFORE the pressure tank knows the water has been turned on. Also could've dropped the filter & made a straight line to the pressure tank rather than that extra turn. For every turn & connect slows the water down & possibility for a leak. Also why so many cutoffs? A cutoff under a cutoff (where your water hose connects) . Also what did he use to connect the line to the pressure tank? 🤔 I couldn't see it well. No hate AT ALL. Love you guys & have followed from day one! Just curious.
For the pressure tank, it’s a dead end ( water doesn’t flow through it), and according to the instructions it can be mounted in any location in the system. Being a liquid under pressure, the pressure is equal in the whole system.
Hi, I like the finished look of the windows and for your curtains.
As a Texas Licensed plumber,at 7:53 it's best to install the hose bibb before the house filter and please install a backflow preventor so you will prevent a cross connection and so you won't contaminate your fresh water, you can also buy a Hose bibb B.F.P.
This is so cool. I also watch LaCroix Cruiser.
Thank you
His beard and mustache is awesome

That was so cool,Wow,LOve it guy's !!!
Thank you
I envy your creativity and strength to convert your bus into an RV. Buying a twenty year old bus or older like yours for a conversion is not expensive, but the RV conversion and mechanical overhaul must cost a fortune, I'm guessing over hundred thousand dollars. Wouldn't it be a better option to buy an existing converted used motor coach? Yes I'm aware it would cost over $100,000 or even over $150,000.
The advantages of doing it yourself are many, but principally, the layout is exactly as you want it, you know how it was built, and you can decide what is important for you.
Buying someone else’s conversion ( DIY or professional) is a big risk. As for costs, ours cost us around 75,000$ to build
Thanks Kaz Goz. I second what Lacroix Cruiser said. I don't have a final cost yet but it will be under $100,000 for sure. Our design is so specific to our life, the only reason I could fit my pilates studio in was because we built it and designed the bus around it and many other features.
i love your work. 💖💖💖💖😊😊👍👍❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
beuatiful the see help you whit te bus. i follow the other poeple olso.

Hello Don and Mela
Hi Donald!
👍👍
Nice to have help, huh?
so good :)
It was fun to help.
When I do my build, I'm going to be alone. That's why I'm thinking of a box truck or a 7m school bus. However, if I can do it, I would prefer a bus. A bus will be like a mansion for a single guy like me but if I can, I will. I'm a bit of a nerd and I will have multiple monitors in it, or maybe a single 55" Samsung Odyssey Ark
Question: I have a tiny home in a box truck and was looking at a bus but i am somewhat perplexed as to how you get a full size couch into the bus through that tiny door. you are the magicians help an apprentice out.
Our couch came in 4 pieces.
Cold water heater
Hey I want also convert a bus . I have a question . How big are your water tanks .What is your experiece are they big enough
How often do you need to empty and fil them
We went with 125 gallon tanks ( 1 for fresh, 1 for grey water) Most friends living in busses full time with 100 gallons can go about 2 weeks before empty and fill is needed
@@Rehabit8 thanks
We have 125 fresh, 135 waste, 2 weeks is easy, 3 if we are careful.
My curiosity is killing me. What's a tube steak?
Nickname for a Hotdog at many race tracks.
Hey last week I went to look for your latest video and POOF U TUBE strikes again. I had been unsubscribed. Be sure to warn your subscribers to ck often. Also I could not recall the correct name of your channel. Just the One bite at a time!
oh no ! So sorry to hear that but glad you are back. thanks for letting us know
