For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). Dimash also recently released "Ikanaide,'' performed during the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival live stream, which is absolutely incredible. He sings in nearly flawless Japanese.
Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason.

The gentleman in white who gave him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash.
The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish".
Dimash modified the traditional vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique as well as an Arabic maqam which is a system of oriental scales, melodic phrases and ornamentation techniques. He did it all to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced these classical and oriental techniques into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.

This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. FYI, Dimash did not win “The Voice” in China. He took part in an invite-only competition in 2017 for established professional and successful singers, which is called “I Am A Singer.” The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash finished the competition in 2nd place.
The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh CZcamsr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. The final run is 21.73 seconds on one breath.
This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him.
There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. Dimash sang in Russian, and he's very fluent in it. The last run he did was 24 seconds long without taking a breath. His amazing breath control will also show up in the last note of "Stranger". In Stranger he also does a section where he only vocalizes without words just like he did here. Part of the vocalization will sound very Arabic to you, and probably comes from his Kazakh culture. I can't wait for you to discover Stranger. It's in English. Though he's improved his English tremendously since 2017, it still could still use some work. His voice on the other hand, keeps getting better if that's possible!
Other dears have clarified that this is in Russian and not Kazakh, but he does have many songs in Kazakh also. Daididau, Qarym Elim and others. Definitely worth hearing.

If you want to hear more of his amazing songs in Kazakh then I recommend Samaltau, Qairan Elin or Òmir Òter.
Samaltau is about a young Kazakh who was forcibly recruited by Russia in 1916. He was forced to leave his home country and his elderly parents to go to war (WWI) and does not know what awaits him there as a soldier or how his elderly parents are to manage without him. The Best version in my opinion is from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s pure emotion.
Normally there are no vocal acrobatics in his native songs and I love them a lot. In every of this songs you can hear the great love and devotion to his county and his people.

Qairan Elim means Holy Land and is a prayer and the fear about the fate of Dimash's country and the world in general. The MV is fantastic and he even directed it. The man, Renat Gaissin (a Kazakh composer) on the piano is also a friend of his and he has also written songs for Dimash such as River Of Love, an instrumental in which Dimash plays the dombra, and the song Òmir Òter (Ode to Life). The MV was presented of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. Also a must see but switch on the subtitles. A masterpiece. Goosebumps!

Very good reaction, thank you both. I read on a different reactors post that the "trill' (others have said 'goat bleating) is part of a funeral dirge Dimash added to pay homage to the original singer that died in an accident in 2015. Enjoy the journey of discovering new (to you) music.

Please provide where you get this info on funeral. I think it is a Very popular rumor. The singer did die a while back, but this singing is not always for dead people. I heard Dimash father refuted this, but I can't find it. It would seem strange in the middle of a very sensual love song.
By far his best song that highlights his 7 octave vocal range beginning with bass/baritone and ending where the angels tread an original specifically composed for Dimash titled “ love is like a dream” In fact many professional vocalists consider this song and performance the best live performance in the HISTORY of live performances. This song is in Russian, not Kazakh. He speaks several languages, I want to say 5 and sings in at least 13. He also plays.several instruments. I love all his songs. His songs in Chinese are awesome. Careful about Stranger being blocked.
In Kazakhstan, both Kazakh and Russian are spoken and considered mother tongues. Dimash speaks Russian fluently.

Dimash just performed his first solo conceert in Dubai on Mrch 25th - his most recent songs are STRANGER, AVE MARIA, IKANAIDE, BE WITH ME - he has dance moves that would make Michael Jackson blush - he sings in 15 languages and speaks 4 - Check our Diva Dance -written for synthesizer and he floats through it like a vocal warmup
They’re all WOW! Great reaction. None of his songs are the same. If he sings the same song at his concerts, he makes changes each time. He fluent in Kazakh and Russian. His English is becoming very good. He never spook a word of English until he was on the Chinese singing competition called “Singer”. He didn’t speak Chinese either. He’s working on that but he says it’s very hard.

Sara7a dimash is my favorite artist and his style might not impress the majority of the Lebanese people because it's far from what they're used to listen to and for a male to be able to do what dimash does is simply unbelievable, and oh what i wouldn't give to watch his concert live in Lebanon but since his fan base isn't that big here idt he'll ever come 😭. I would suggest reacting to three different versions of it, all sung by Dimash, of course. It would be great to begin the journey with the performance from New Wave 2019 from Sochi, then the official music video filmed in Island with two amazing dancers on it, and finally the vocalize version from his Arnau tour with no lyrics and a water fall from the music video in the back ground of the stage.
