After spreading seed, AFTER raking top, then add more dirt on top of seeds. Not rake seeds around. And those filled in holes are going to sink as it rains, etc.
If you'd filled the holes a little less you could have a second bucket with a compost grass seed topsoil mix to put a layer on the top. That mix works really well.
