    I just did my first branch weld today. I noticed you stacked your beads for the cap from the bottom up. My welder taught me to stack my cap ( 3 bead cap) from the top down. Does it matter how you stack your beads?

    • @TheJsote1988

      Downhill, 2 bead cap

    • @felixvilla878
      @felixvilla878 Před 3 lety +1

      You should always cap bottom to top. You have a good chance of undercutting the cap if you go from top to bottom

      I was taught stacking stringers is like setting bricks or building any structure. Start from the bottom and work your way up.

      Get yourself another teacher. No disrespect that's welding 101. Stack from bottom up. Allows you to stack it in there nice and flat. It helps fight gravity to avoid sag because you have a shelf for the next pass to sit on.

    Why didn’t he weld the hole thing out

    • @rigweldernomad932
      @rigweldernomad932 Před 4 lety +2

      Cause some companies require for you weld the whole thing out and some dont!.

      Also maybe didn't feel like welding it all the way out for CZcams
