If you check your book, it will tell you specifically the math for factory 45’s and field cut 45’s (because there is a difference). Some companies will order 45’s and others only order 90’s and therefore you have to make your own 45s (and odd degrees) And the trick to making odd degrees is a whole other video. (Quite simple however, just measure the bend, divide that measurement by 90, then multiply that number by your desired angle)

A aweasome trick for laying out odd angles is the 57.25 rule. You draw two lines using a square and draw a arc 57.25 inches 90 degrees. Then every inch on that arc is 1 degree. Then just mark the arc by flexing a stick ruler for example 20 degrees would be 20 inches on the arc. Snap a line back to center for your desired angle and draw your fitting. You now have 3 coordinate measurements for any angle on any size pipe.

Somebody needs to do a video on the 57.25 rule. You can also find coordinate measurements on saddles. I don’t have a camera or the computer skills for a CZcams video.
