Let me know if I've missed anything or you have questions on how this process works.
Now that was truly masterful - exquisite work!
Thanks so much, Steve! I appreciate you taking a look.
I absolutely love that handle
Thanks for checking it out, Terri!
Thanks, dennis! made a positive out of pine, and then casted it in resin I made to look like ivory. This video basically made that knife.
I’m glad the video was helpful. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! I've marveled at these beautiful handles for a long time, and always just assumed they would be way too difficult to attempt at my current skill level. After watching this video, I now want to at least attempt one and see how it goes. Worst case scenario, I'll learn a lot.
t's a great look, very elegant I think. The key is a good jig setup. Thanks for watching.
That's a classic dagger handle style for sure. I remember their popularity with '70s makers. 👍
Thanks for watching, James!
Thanks for the straight forward tutorial without wasting time... Im not a big fan of this design but I like to challenge myself and make new things
I like that Jig I can see how that comes in handy when accuracy is necessary
Thanks for taking a look
Thanks for the demo and instruction, Denis. Always interesting and just looks awesome.
Thanks so much, Byron! I'm glad the steps make sense. Thanks for watching.
so cool what you do, thoroughly enjoy watching
Thanks for watching, Felipe!
Super duper knife handle. Like.
Thanks for taking a look, James!
Love your work.
Thanks for watching, Dominic!
Man that turned out great 👍 I'll see you at blade show
Thanks for checking it out! Come be and say hi, Richard. 👍
Another great video Dennis! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching, Stephen!
Thanks Denis! nice trick with the ratcheting wire wrap tool.
Thanks Matt! When you planning your trip to Cali? 😜
@@TyrellKnifeworks first week of July were gonna be south of ya in the riverside county area and then up in Huntington Beach area for the remainder. A solo trip for me would have to be next year.. or when ya move to Colorado 😂
@@mcrich1978 We're not sure if it'll be Colorado or maybe Tennessee or some other state. Who knows.
@@TyrellKnifeworks I hear ya! We'd like to get out of Colorado perhaps Texas or Florida.. but ya.. who knows. 😂
Thanks for our weekly dose of knife school! Fantastic as always. Where is the wire from?
This was "artistic wire" I got on Amazon. It's just thin copper wire that was painted black. I should have mentioned the diameter. This is .4mm and I tripled it up for the twist on this one.
Very nice!!!
Thanks for taking a look!
I always wanted to make a spiral fluted wire inlay dagger.
Now you have a starting point. Thanks for watching, Jeremy!
Absolutely beautiful, probably going to give this a try over the weekend! Cheers!
It's a great look, very elegant I think. The key is a good jig setup. Thanks for watching.
gracias.!!!! 💪💪💪🇦🇷
Just finished making a handle for my last chopper, that I wanted to do for the viewer-submitted portion of the chopper challenge, yesterday.
Had I watch this first, I would have done a fluted handle.
I'm not sure I'd want a fluted handle on a chopper, but who knows. Thanks for watching!
Another great video TY. 7:26 hope they were not your wife scissors LOL.
Ha, no those are my shop scissors. (which I stole from my wife 🤣). Thanks for watching!
Very neat! The twisted wire is only 1 strand?
I forgot to mention in the video, this is 3 strands twisted together. Thanks for watching.
I'm wondering how comfortable this particular handle is? Ridges look a bit "sharp". Thanks!
They aren't sharp at all, its super comfortable. Thanks for watching.
I know this Id off topic. My apologies. Do you have any recommendations for handle glue up besides epoxy? I react badly to the chemicals and I wondering if handles can be done without it or some other alternative without the epoxy chemicals.
Hmm, 2-part epoxy is really the best and only thing I’ve ever used. You could use a thick CA glue I guess. Checkout the links in the video description for Starbond.
👀👀👏👏🤜🤛
Being the owner of a wood lathe- it’s a messy thing no matter what hahahah
Right, but the metal lathe is typically coated in oil and the wood chips stick to everything and that machine is for much higher precision work so it's a big pain to clean it. I don't have the room in my shop for another lathe, so I'm just complaining to myself. 🤣. Thanks for watching, Steve.
