There's a great video of the making of Tragedy. You'll see how they made the explosion sound. It's wild.
That explosion sound is actually Barry making an explosion sound into the microphone with his voice. This was before digital recording and copying and pasting sounds into a song.
Bee Gees wrote this song. They wrote all of their own music for themselves and others. Over 1000 songs.
No one can duplicate these MASTERS! These guys were MASTERS in writing lyrics, they had a way wit words!!!
I reckon it was Steps. Way too glib and smiley when it needs the drama from the Bee Gees. Great later songs are For whom the bell tolls, I could not love you more, Kiss of Life, My Lover's Prayer.

The Bee Gees only did 1 cover in their life and that was a Carol King tribute. They wrote ALL their songs, so if you heard another band singing something The Bee Gees have recorded, then you know that band or person did a cover of an original Bee Gees song!
I don’t know if you’re thinking of Steps, they made a cover of Tragedy in 2000, although several artists made covers of Tragedy. I love this song and the energy. It’s a sad song that somehow makes you want to move and dance to it, Bee Gees had that ability. Another fantastic song from the same album is SEARCH, FIND from their 1979 Spirits Having Flown album.
