- Today at Ewetopia Farms, we go through all the various sheep and lambs we have to feed each day. We start off with the bottle babies and explain how we feed them, how much and how often. We also discuss how ewes feed their lambs and what can happen to a ewe's udder in the first few days of lactation. Next we head over to the Coverall to see feeding milk to the bottle babies and feeding creep and hay to the new lambs. At the same time, we see how the adult sheep are fed. We also stop to have a closer look at a few of the new lambs.
Sheep and sheep farming is our passion and we hope that the love we have for what we do is obvious to you the viewers. Our operation is a large scale, registered Suffolk and Poll Dorset sheep farm combining the best of pasture and confinement to manage the flock for maximum comfort, minimal stress, and producing a consistent, very high quality product. Our focus is on providing breeding stock for sale to other sheep producers. All our sheep are treated with the utmost compassion which I think will become evident as you join us on our daily rounds on our working sheep farm in eastern Ontario, Canada.
I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like to follow along with us and experience life on a real live sheep farm on a daily basis, please subscribe so that you don't miss a single episode!
Thank you for taking the time to watch! We love to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment as well.

Your persistence paid off! Calm, slow and patient training works. Soo much better (healthier and happier) for baby, mom and you.
Goodmorning Lynn and Arnie I just love those lambs all the different colors ,I have to say the suffix are my favorite looking at the momas ears looks like butterfly wings.Stay safe and have a blessed day .
Yes, Suffolks definitely win for their ears but Dorsets with those fluffy faces are hard bot to love too!😁
Your Suffolk bottle babies are a hoot, always getting into trouble. They are like human toddlers in their "terrible twos." 😂
The Suffolk bottle babies are trouble-makers!😆
Good morning Arnie and Lynn. Awake early today so watching the lambs was a super start to the day. I so appreciate your efforts getting those lambs to suck off their mom. That was such a success in perseverance. The lambs make any gloomy day sunny. The sister to that humdinger ram was quite the beauty as well. They both are exceptional looking. Although Looney has the prize for cuteness. I don’t see anyone beating her out for that title. Arnie does have fun with the lambs. And I enjoy his brand of humor. You have to laugh. A great day. Blessings and big hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Patricia!🥰🥰🥰
Yes I like how you two use humor to get through the day! And the lambs are all so adorable 💐☀️
Glad the sun came out for you. We have had a dream day today
Yeah! Glad to hear it!🙂
Great video
Thanks!
♥️♥️♥️
Hi from a very hot and sunny Sydney.. we are looking forward to winter already x
Funny how that works!🙂 We can't wait for summer at this point! But yeah, by the end of summer, we will be looking forward to cooler temperatures too!😁
This informative, with important ideas, video will go down in history. It happened, which I always do view at your past videos, but you became a professional reporter you can have more paying jobs now but I believe you are doing what you enjoy. Congratulations.
Thanks
I’m so glad that you give your ewes another chance because I watched some other people’s videos & they cull their sheep for the most silly reasons & they put a massive cross ❎ in spray paint on their back & I think that’s so sad, you’re sheep in this video had a big udder & your giving her another chance because the lambs are fine on her now but other people would get rid of it straight away, thank you for caring so much about your sheep 😊
Thanks. We are very soft, and many people would criticize us for not being realistic. However, we respect the animals and try to give them the benefit of the doubt if possible. There does come a time when culling is necessary, though. This is a sad time for us.

🤷♀️ Lynn 🤷♂️ Arnie, please Ignore all rubbish statements. 🕳💣 Please tell us more about your other bow-wows 🐕🐕🥂
I ignore the nasty comments because they don't know what they are talking about. I will try add some info on the dogs in an upcoming video!🙂
I reported them as harassers… so it may been have dropped from the responses. They can move along to another channel.
@@justinanovak8040 thanks Justina
I hope you have a big pot soup going so you don't have to go home and cook your tea
I wish!😁
What a great video. You are very patient with lambs when feeding, but you are following a system. We experience gorging with our goals because we do mot offer them hay 24/7. I am looking into this. Do you know that 50 lb goat kid 4months old in saudi are sold for 160 usd. But a bag of 40kg rolled barely is 20 usd and a 40kg crushed corn for 23 usd and a roll of average hay 43 usd.
Yes, that is crazy! People should be ashamed for not paying farmers properly!
How often do you roll a roll of hay or straw for Beding weekly or monthly? I am glad you have a lot of hay and you can afford it. Does the falling hay from the feeder be adequate for beding?
Everything depends on different things. Humid weather, high numbers of sheep mean bedding gets dirty quicker so has to be added. Less sheep, dry, hit weather means less bedding. Hay falling out if feeders is not enough bedding for us
Hi Lynn, I was wondering how many sheep in total do you all have in your flock?? The reason l ask is because you have brought many groups of ewes in to have their lambs. I was try to keep track but lost count. As Arnie brought the 2nd lamb over to you it looked really plump! I'm guessing that's a good thing since he looks so healthy. 🌴🌹
We have about 400 sheep here at the moment. Yes, that lamb was a really nice one 🙂
@@EwetopiaFarms Gee that's a lot of baahaahing, you must hear it in your sleep. LoL
@@mariacambre8971 I actually do 😅
Hi Lynn, just for my info, do the rodents pose a health problem for the flock?
Of course anything that dirties the feed can cause health problems
@@EwetopiaFarms ok thanks, I thought so but was not sure, then the same can be said for “flying rats”...pigeons, I see a lot in there with the sheep, how do you guys control them?
@Abuskeleke not much we can do about them. We find nests and shake the eggs. Plus our resident ravens eat their eggs. We also have hawks that eat them
@@EwetopiaFarms wow, natural pest control with hawks and ravens, that’s perfect, thanks so much for the information
Yo don't clip sheep and trim they nails be for have lambs ???
No, after
Depending on when it is done clipping hooves before birth can be uncomfortable for the ewes. Let’s face it it is uncomfortable unless the sheep is sitting slightly to the left/right of the tailbone/spine. The way Ewetopia does it the ewe has her vacs, feet trimmed, a quick once over to add any details further to electronic records and WOW it is done. NB Hoof trimming is hard work physically whether you have a new dangled sheep cradle or not. Electric clippers make do make it easier. The way Arnie does it day by day takes more care of his back and hands.
