Stallone created a character loved by so many. Here we are 40 years later, still Loving every second of the video. Great work by Mike.

I'm sure we could have Googled the locations, but we felt like Rocky was giving is the tour. The Rocky knowledge that Mike has just added to the fun. I will never forget that day. The wife and I took our two young daughters to Philly to visit ESP (Eastern State Pen) and just had to visit the famous art museum steps - being the huge Rocky fan I've always been. It was about 109F that day...lord was it hot. After climbin' the steps, took a bunch of obligatory pics of the girls flexing/posing...we wandered into the museum to cool off in the AC. When we came out and descended the steps we saw a young black kid draggin' a big ice cooler with a piece of rope shouting, "Ice cold Gataw-wade" (with his Philly accent, lol). I imagine his sales were great that day. A memorable trip.

GREAT LOCATION CHECKOUTS. One day day I will run those steps in the grey sweats and the black beanie and throw my hands up in victory. I am an extreme movie nerd and I know I have impeccable taste.....my 3 favorite movies of all time are all 3 major game changing films......Star Wars 1977, yes I am part of the 70s generation and will ALWAYS refer to "Episode IV A New Hope" as simply Star Wars, Halloween 1978 and ROCKY 1976.......Rocky has always been an inspiration to me, in my athletic life growing up and even more so as I hit adulthood and now my middle age, when life really starts hitting you. An incredible movie, I have seen Rocky at least 500 times literally and can recite every line, and hum every note of every music cue. When Rocky is trying to convince Adrain to come upstairs when she's standing at the bottom of those stairs.......it makes your heart melt.....when she's standing there later in the red coat and he says " you're gonna walk down the street breaking hearts the way you look" always gets me......or at the very end after he's been beaten into an oblivion and the first thing he asks her is "where's your hat?" Man, one of the most unforgettable images in cinema history is Stallone at the top of the art museum stairs with his hands in the air. It deserved all 3 academy awards it won, and should have won more. Stallone's robbery at the Oscars is one of the biggest flubs of all time. Talia Shire should have won......and Burgess Meredith TRULY deserved the Oscar more than anyone......but what about Burt Young? God, there's just too many unforgettable performances in the film and so many great moments it's almost impossible to choose a favorite on anything!

It was a statue about a fictional character named Rocky Balboa. It's sad that they moved the statue because someone like you complained that it wasn't a real fighter. It's a shame but it's true. Yes smoking Joe Frazier was from Philadelphia and why they didn't put up a statue in his honor doesn't really matter to me. Ask yourself this question who will be remembered more Rocky or Joe Frazier? The movie was supposed to be inspirational and just because they made a statue showing the true character of a man who tried his best does not bring shame to any real fighters. But quite the opposite. Not trying to insult what you're saying. I still ask the question why they never did I'll never.know Maybe they should have put one up for Muhammad Ali as well. Or how about the real Rocky Marciano which they never made a statue for him either or how about sugar Ray Leonard. Now there's a class act if I ever saw one. What I'm trying to get out here is it was just a movie to bring the best out of people and show that there is hope. Take care

If U haven't had a Cheese steak from Philly then u haven't had one Yet, cause I've eaten cheese steaks in LA, NY, M.I.A, ATL, NC NJ, Now that I've had one from Philly none of them aren't even in the same vicinity of being close to one from Philly.
