Pete Davidson is the purest sweetest soul out there, and our sad generation still finds ways to bring him down and pick at him for every little thing.
Pete is that kid at school who would pick on you till you decide you had enough and then run to the teacher because you punched him. Using lame excuses like it made him feel better or helped him forget just how sad he feels. That's why our generation is hard on him. To let him know that what he says or does comes with consequences. In my case attacking and demonizing a couple of my friends just because they're sex workers. Hopefully, Pete is working on himself but it will take years for making me stop thinking Pete is a manipulative self-depricating prick

Maybe the kindest thing a person could do for your friends is make the joke that gives them a moment's pause to think "gee, maybe I should stop now"...

First, both of their movies - Hillbilly Elegy & The King of Staten Island - were both fantastic. But more so, I am very surprised at how polite and eloquently Pete spoke to Glenn and then, too, how much she studied up on Pete and how much he genuinely amused her. This was a great Actors on Actors!

I came here for this comment! Glenn made an effort to get to know Pete and his career; and also came across as so genuine and interested. Pete seemed very nervous, but was so polite and fun. I really enjoyed this interview.
I don't know why people keep sh*ing on Pete Davidson. He seems funny and intelligent. He does seem fragile and I feel the need to protect him. Glenn Close is a LEGEND and does deserve a legit Oscar. I'm on-board for that project.

I met Glenn Close many years ago and have to say she is the nicest celeb I've ever had the pleasure to speak to. Incredibly down to earth and makes you feel like your existence is important (even though I was nothing more than a retail Assistant at the time). It comes as no surprise to see her engage with Pete Davison this way.
For me the best was Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen, but this is also great

Wonderful in so many ways. As someone with Bipolar And BPD I l admire Pete's honesty and courage to ignore the stigma, and to show that having a mental illness does not in any way preclude success.

Yup, 90s kids were raised with that movie played from VHS tapes. For our generation the movie is a standout :D I probably still have the vhs at my parents’, so nostalgic :)
It's one of her best performances. I've always been salty that she wasn't Oscar nominated, although it was a very strong year in 96.

I've always liked Glenn Close, but I LOVE me some Pete Davidson! He's adorable, he's hilarious, he's honest, his laugh is the best thing ever, etc. I really enjoyed this interview.
He seems nice especially here but his appalling behavior at the Rob Lowe roast made me lose all respect for him professionally, he was OBNOXIOUS, throwing shade at Ann Coulter whenever he could AFTER his set was appalling especially when he heckled her during her set. I don’t like Ann’s views on the world but she was HILARIOUS at that roast and I’m glad she got the last laugh by not reacting to this vitriol thrown her way
@@j2forew974 It was because she said something about 9/11 widows. That roast was really old. Pete was only like 21 there. It was just re-uploaded more recently. A lot of people that age are still very immature. I was.

She has made very racist and insensitive comments about 9-11 , among other subjects. She was there because she was pushing a book. Pete was very young and undiagnosed at that time. Also, his father died while trying to save people at ground zero. So, her attacks on the 9-11 widows was very personal to him. The part about the sheets was very fitting for her. He has matured and medicated. He isn't for everyone.
An unlikely paring that becomes absolutely charming is everything. You can see how Pete Davidson wears his vulnerability and how Glenn Close is confident and reassuring. They are just lovely.

This is purely a joy to watch. You have to appreciate Glenn Close for being such a pro. Everybody says about the Oscars regarding her loses, but nobody appreciates the professionalism this woman brings to the table every single time. And Glenn is always so nice to everyone, but in this interview Pete allowed her to be a bit laid back and chill, which if you watch her on ig, she can be very goofy and funny. I love how even a screen legend, Glenn Close, can be nervous of meeting someone, very different than her, which also shows how professional Pete is, unlike his comedic personality or the one that is created by tabloids.
