He may not have realized it yet, but Pete just broke down a lot of barriers on mental health by doing this interview alone. So many people are hiding their pain due to shame. At just 26 years old, he should be proud of himself for that.

When he mentioned bipolar and border line personality disorder, my jaw dropped. One of my good friends helped me realize I have this a few months back and I’m sitting saying wow I know how he feels. And the cold showers and working and music do work for sure.

do you like how he said "and shit" to seem more bro lmaooo baby showers....and shit,
He also suffers from mental health issues. He can relate to him and thank goodness he's not the typical D ppl think he is.
@sabrinachic Are you serious? You actually think 'thaGod' said one word with heart-felt sincerity? He is one self-absorbed son of a b.
For people who struggle with mood swings depression and generally suicidal thought, its imperative to save their life to have people around them who genuinely care about them.
This bro!! This right fuckin here!!❤️
Pete is not just a comedian, throughout these years, he had become a representative of people who suffers from mental health issues, an advocate, a living testament that seeking help is best way to battle our inner demons. He certainly shows that self-awareness and acceptance is the first step. He’s vulnerable and struggling but with the right people, right motivation, he’s showing us that we can all battle through it.

Thank you Pete for this:
What to do when you're feeling upset:
1. Take a cold shower
2. Work out
3. Listen music really loud
4. Read excerpts
5. Go on the calm app
6. Call a friend
7. Wait five minutes
Walk barefoot in grass
A lot of these are from ACCEPTS which is a DBT skill :) the S stands for Sensations which is doing something that shocks your senses to pull yourself out of your emotions (examples: cold showers, loud music, squeezing frozen things, etc.)
This is very much standard care for the borderline, the self-harming, and the suicidal. Thank you Pete for being the messenger, but thank you even more to Dr. Marsha Linehan who had all the same issues and literally created a new form of therapy (DBT) to help herself and then spread it to the world.

The way he speaks about mental illness and self harm without any shame…. I respect him so much. It’s hard enough to be honest with yourself, let alone a bunch of people. He might not know it, but he’s an incredible role model to so many people. He doesn’t give himself enough props for making it this far and coping every single day, all while working to make other people laugh. Bless that man, he’s so pure. Saint Leoraunt HA that’s cold 😂
What does he deal with on a daily basis..if u don't mind me asking?
Will Malone He noted multiple times that he struggles with severe mental illness and has so for a very long time- mainly due to his father passing at such a young age. The only thing that doesn’t bring him to suicide is remembering his loving family. His coworkers at SNL use him as a comedic punching bag and he stated that it’s a toxic ”cut throat environment” in which most people are only looking out for personal gain and that he felt as though he was going to be fired daily. The press follow him and love to twist his words nearly every time he makes a comment. I’d say he probably has it pretty rough on a daily basis.

@@bonesthegod585 wow ur so cool and edgy!
@@bonesthegod585 tryna be edgy lmao cringe
Erik Ledezma same. The only reason im alive is cuz my moms alive lol
It sounds like he’s a “husband” not just a bf. He sounds like he was raised right. I don’t know too much about him but the first few minutes shows this guy is a good human.
He’s so relatable and it’s humbling listening to him. He has the vibe of Adam Sandler- fame isn’t clouding them. I hope he always stays golden.
Wow… so raw and genuine. The love and support being showed to Pete in this interview is real. Telling Pete he wants to see him HERE, going to his baby showers. It’s like Char was asking Pete with almost tears in his eyes “Please don’t ever go thru with ‘IT’! We want you in this world!” That’s love.
Pete is an ACTUAL class act. This man loves his mother, wishes the best for her, and he loves love. He is also open about his mental health. What a great human!
"I just want my princess charming"...Oh my god he's WONDERFUL
“I want everybody to do well” he’s so supportive of all his exes
Shout out to Charlamagne for navigating this interview so perfectly. He was super good friends with Mac but avoided going in too hard on Pete about the Ariana relationship. Charla doesn't get enough credit for being such a great interviewer.
Who hates Pete? There’s absolutely nothing to hate about him. We need to bubble wrap him, he’s real and transparent.
Agreed
He’s a tool bag. You know that.
I don’t like that he doesn’t like Louis ck.. but I don’t hate him
@@tylernolan4069 CK tried to get him fired. Take a look at your heroes
omnitom yea I don’t care. Trying to get someone fired isn’t that bad. You’re acting like he stole and fucked his girl. Pete’s a drama queen.. take a look at your heroes
I always thought Pete was a douche, but after seeing this and the Hot Ones interview, he’s actually a very likeable guy. I’m rooting for you, man.
Me too man. He really seems legit. I hope he figures it out but I think it will always be something he will have to keep up with .
Same at first, and it really opened up my eyes to not judge people before you know literally anything about them because now I’m obsessed with Pete he’s great
Same dude. It was because of what media said though, which is exactly what Pete said.
i thought your profile picture was the nirvana album cover of the baby
Sharon Rose shut up why are you talking in all caps
His honesty is beautiful. This makes me feel less alone
I was really puzzled why Kim would want to be with Pete, but after watching this I kind of get his appeal. He definitely has his issues but he seems like such a humble and down-to-earth guy. Hope he continues to work on his mental health and finds happiness.
I’m only 12 minutes in, and I wanna hug his brain
shoutsunitingeuphoria_ 100000% agreed
Where did you find it? I see a person talking in generalities and describing cutting as wonderful. Your intellectual benchmark is pretty low it seems. Have a wonderful day.
Jerry 1965 oh hey jerry what’s up man
@@lucid_harmony_3921 lmao what
Jerry 1965 he’s just a real ass dude and was asked why he did it and he explained
Pete suggesting to adopt a child with his mom was one of the most heartfelt ideas. That was so sweet.
Its sweet but at the same time his reasoning for wanting a child isnt good. He thinks a child will fix him.. like he wont cut or feel the way he does if he has a child. My granda is borderline, my mom is, and so am I. I grew up witnessing and going thru sad things due to my mother's borderline.. you really have to be steady on meds and in life before that commitment
What, he's clearly broken. Are you kidding me, think!
Sweet, but a horrible idea.
@@adraper30 you rude ass - obviously I would never encourage anyone who is not mentally healthy to care for any dependant at all. Full stop.
What IS heart-warming though, is that he doesn't believe you need to be married to have a child. He genuinely has an interest in raising, being there for, and creating a loving and supportive environment with his mother to raise a child that has been adopted. A child in need of support and unconditional love.
As a person who had their father LITERALLY abandon them and split on their family, the thought of Pete wanting to be apart of a child's life made me feel so happy, because as a child, that's what I wanted too. To not just have a father, but to have a dad.
Pete grew up without a dad, but with an even more traumatic reason for his father not being in his life. He wants to give someone something he never had.
How about you think about that?
Elle Mathews Same. BPD sucks beyond reason, but I would love to have kids soon. I watched vids of children with BPD parents & I can't imagine doing those things. Mine came on from childhood trauma and my awful childhood, it's just not fair. I feel for him.
Dude, Accutane made me bat shit crazy too! I love how Pete Davidson brings everything to light that we're struggling with in like the real world 💖
Pete seems like such a great guy. He is undeniably himself and that is such an admirable quality. Especially for someone in the spotlight. I hope everything is going well for him and if you ever see this Pete, you da man!
