This mission is 100x harder in definitive edition. The army AIs can shoot you dead from afar before you can even approach the train on that jetpack.
yep, military soldiers have to had a good aim when using guns and so in real life
That and I felt that the jetpack was broken. The jumping over objects in the cargo train too, would send CJ flying off if you didn’t have the jetpack still on lol

I love how all the missions in this game get more silly and outrageous as you progress.
I honestly loved the big military operation like missions like this one or getting the jetpack in area 51 and most of the toreno missions even if CJ despises him lol

Man, I miss the old rotating arrows lock-on reticule, where it actually shows the enemy’s health. This reticule is as charming as a bag of bricks.
That was available only on the console version.
On the PC version, there was a downward triangle over the head of the NPC. It was colored to go from green to yellow and finally to red, depending on the remaining health of the NPC.

Love this mission but would have been cool if the moving thrusters were still there in the definitive edition
Guys here's a tip to complete this mission if you are struggling like I was.
Well, for some weird reason you can only exit the jetpack the first time you try the mission which is weird and you can only do it once.
So, make a save before the mission and then if you fail then go in that save and then do it again.
It's a pain in the ass but it works trust me.
Also if to exit the jetpack in pc is "F".
If you can see, from 00:26, CJ's face is deformed for a while and after that he's keep smiling, like his face is frozen. This glitch also happen in OG version.

Yeah, they definitely redesigned the Jetpack, thrusters don't move anymore.
Personally I preferred the moving thrusters of the jetpack
in other videos of definitive edition I remember they moved properly.

I love how the jar of Green Goo is this object of world-shattering importance, but you don't hear about it ever again in the rest of the game. It's like a subtle jab at the typical "Steal The Very Important Thing" trope that so many games (including the GTA series) use in their missions and levels.
You only hear about the Green Goo again in the WCTR show Area 53 where after this mission The Truth calls them to say that he "has been to the other side" and he "holded aliens in his own hands"
The green goo reappears in gta online in a mission introduced in the last update: LSA Operations, the mission in which you airstrike the merryweather base. It appears as a secondary objective in which you have to steal something that Charlie reffered to as being part of the Chilliad mistery. The object you steal perfectly resembles the green goo, even the container is the same.
The fact it glows now... all I can think of is Rick's portal fluid. Good upgrade, but that circle around it when the crate is shot open is mediocre. Used to glow like the sun's rays, that gave it a menacing presence.
0:35 this feels like the only moment where the lipsync actually works, in a 60 bucks game.

Sneaking into a secret military base to get a jet pack which it was a $60 million prototype. Then robbing a military train Full of soldiers to retrieve some green goo. And then you bring it to him, and he just droves off leaving you penniless.

I'm playing the story for the first time on the definitive edition but I keep getting absolutely slammed by the aim on the npc's for no reason, they just snap onto you so hard my health just drains in a second sometimes it doesn't even feel fair
Yeah this mission was a piece of cake in the OG version but here they made these AIs too OP.

This mission was hard until I realized going near the gun store and riding on the highway and shooting from it gives you a great advantage

Pisses me off to this day they cut The Truth’s mission after this and we never learned what that green goo was all about. Furthermore, they missed the opportunity to put the cut mission in RIGHT NOW. It’s official. Rockstar has fallen from grace.
The green goo is probably some new experimental fuel or some bioweapon or some tech component, i'm just taking a guess but i'm leaning towards either experimental fuel or bioweapon

It probably was an alien substance, not too long ago, i watched a theory video involving this mission, and one part of that video piqued my curiosity, remember what the Truth said when CJ gave the green goo to him? He said they'll call it Year Zero, and the theory is this, the Green Goo is probably a bomb or a bioweapon and it could either one: destroy humanity and leave Earth a barren wasteland, getting rid of overpopulation therefore referring it as Year Zero or two: after the explosion, humanity can build something new on the planet, new tech, new homes, new everything and then it would be known that Year Zero is an devastating but necessary event to evolve humanity or all life more

I just shot enemies whist riding the jetpack as I didn't realise you could get out of the jetpack whilst on a mission

I'm on Xbox one and cannot use the jetpack..? Only the thrusters to move left and right work, no other buttons do anything besides aiming and shooting, I can't even remove it during the mission...... and whenever I try to search for an answer I just get the cheat code to get the jetpack..wtf lol someone please help

@@SuperBadGateway502 I ended up having to just do it with the jet pack and then after the mission I saved and quit, reloaded the game and it worked again. So not sure if it glitched or the mission locked it for me. But the button for me on Xbox was Y to drop it.

He just keeps falling down whenever i try to aim... This wasnt like that on original versions either on PC or PS2.

Hey I don’t know if this will help any of you guys, I couldn’t beat this mission for the life of me with the horrible jet pack controls. If you get off of the jet pack and wait at the tunnel kind of where you enter or leave las Venturas you can just snipe all the soldiers on the train and then easily fly in and get the green goo that’s how I beat it.

Exit Vehicle Worked, but only on that specific Part of the Roof in the video. Couldn´t take it off anywhere else. Probably Scripted that way.
They need 2 fix the glitches N this damn game. Once u beat the mission, the dollar sign for the property doesn't appear, neither does the jetpack. And when u go inside and save your progress, the floppy disc disappears.

The first train mission wasn't that bad when you go on top of the Train so instead of riding then complain about BS's accuracy you can just turn that into good accuracy.

Yes. I kept having this issue which I why I came to CZcams. Eventually after dying a couple of times and restarting from the auto save it allows me to get off the jet pack by using the Y button. But strangely only when I’m a certain distance from the airfield.

*[INCOMING RANT - Sorry, but this is the first mission in DE that made me rage quit]*
Well, on my end, the key to do so is bugged, so I just thought it wasn't a thing with this shit port.
Everything else about DE is tolerable [gunplay with a mouse is awesome, and I like driving with a keyboard], except for flying controls.
Planes control like shit, helis are annoying but workable.
Jetpack is ok for flying, but the shooting makes no fucking sense:
Because you ascend with left click, but you also shoot with left click, but to shoot, you have to press right click to aim, but right click is descend, so while engaging enemies, you either slowly float down, drop like a pebble, or shoot up, WHILE trying to fucking shoot someone.
I TRIED landing on the roof, but it wouldn't let me take off the pack, so I can't use other weapons, and get mowed down trying to use my duel Mac 10s, and hey, guess what, when you master a submachine-gun, and are able to hold two, your DPS increases, but you lose all the FUCKING accuracy.
GRRRRAAAAAAREEEEEEEEEEeeeeee!

i might be 2 weeks late but to take off the jetpack you have to get into the same position on roof as shown in the video then press the exit car button
