    You are so right. Every reseller is looking for that $100 profit. I don't find luxury brands anymore. Not in the thrifts. Not even in rummage sales and estate sales.

      Me neither. I just find cool items not looking at the brand anymore.

      I totally agree! Being able to source and sell items that aren't exclusively based on high str or asp helped us build our business to the level it is and allows us to continue to grow!

    Hi my name is Laurie. Thank you for the information, although it is (at least for me ) easier said than done. I have been trying to sell on depop ( dopamineduzigns ) and now a little on ebay. I source at a north bay dig (bins) garage sales etc. It ia hard to stand out on either platform and make more than a few sales per week. I am having the most difficulty in having faith in investing in style based purchases and since the demographics up here are mainly target and mall shoppers being able to SEE style based garments is an important thing to learn. So thank you again for sharing! I have been considering shopping at SF bins, however being a single female, driving a bmw ,I'm a little nervous of the "neighborhood" . Is is true the SF bins have gaylords that you can purchase for 60 ? And have you guys tried that if so was it worth it?

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 3 dny

      Hi! I definitely agree that style based sourcing and selling can take some time and practice - hopefully this video gave a good breakdown on what really propels style based sourcing into a string business model!
      We frequent the bins in San Francisco and Oakland - personally, neither neighborhood come across as a place I wouldn’t go as a female by myself, but I do understand different people have different perspectives for sure. Also we do have a experience with purchasing wholesale in both locations and it’s definitely hit or miss but overall a good experience for us considering our business model

    so true! this is exactly what I see what's going on! thank u for this video. may I ask u your opinion about Brand's place in the title if the brand is not so in demend or even cheap....isn't it better don't mention brand at all in the title?

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 3 dny +1

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Personally, I’ll usually put the brand in the title even if it doesn’t add tons of value unless I’m absolutely strapped for more room for strong keywords. I’m not too firm on one being more right or wrong than the other, it’s just what I normally do :)

    • @Nataliya0907

      @@TrashPandasThrift interesting...I just had troubles with some brands putting them on the first place (they teach ebay wants it) and when I stopped doing this (the brand label is still in pictures and in describtion) I see more traffic and sales...thank u again for the answer

  • @dianehamm6637
    @dianehamm6637 Před 3 dny +1

    When you list a strictly style based item do you still put the brand name first in the title or replace it altogether with keywords, and just put the brand name in the item specifics?

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 3 dny +2

      Great question! We just commented a bit about this but to expand- the times I would leave it out are times where the brand actually hurts the sale. I’m thinking something like Kirkland, etc, just very low end. I’d also leave out vintage brands that have absolutely no visibility online to add more keywords to make the item sell. Otherwise, I’d say most of the time I still leave the brand in.

    • @brandondeakins564
      @brandondeakins564 Před 3 dny +1

      @TrashPandasThrift leaving the brand in makes sense, but ebay has verified the first 5 keywords are weighed the heaviest, so instead typically I would list "Lauren Ralph Lauren Jacket Women's Medium Blazer " then keywords, but the blazer is ON POINT with dark academia, so should I list "Vintage Dark Academia Blazer Women's Medium" then brand further towards the end?
      I'm just thinking ebay has said the algorithm weighs the first 5 words more heavily so shoppers looking for carhartt jeans are going to type "carhartt mens Jeans" but I'm thinking customers shopping for style aren't going to be typing a brand so putting the style first would make more sense. Idk if this is true as im just now looking into style based selling, but it's the line im thinking

    Is Artsy a keyword? Not sure if I spelled it right. I have a multicolored jacket that has an original price tag of $200+ and I don't know if I have any keywords in it to generate traffic.

      You definitely have to #1 find and sell what’s available in your area, and #2 utilize knowledge of brands, keywords, styles and trends to expand what you can sell!
