    I just sold a pair of rose gold sequin boots with a heel that was like a bike reflector, omg I thought they were hideous my husband asked why I even bought them lol I told him because it's weird enough that someone will think them awesome. $$

    So happy to have found your channel! It's nice to hear someone actually say to find the right business model rather than just following whatever is popular in the moment. Love it!

      Aw thanks so much for watching and commenting! Our business ourselves - and everyone else’s honestly - are just a huge mix of things we’ve learned from someone or somewhere else. It’s never going to workout just copying someone else, it’s better to take and try everything that seems like it could fit your business and experiment with them, adjust along the way, get rid of what isn’t working and highlight the things that are! :)

    Greetings Sean and Bethany, from London! 😀 New subscriber to your channel, so I have yet to consume all of your great content, but just would like to ask your thoughts on buying from retail clearance or end of season stock? Charity shops in the UK, seem out of reach price-wise for making a decent profit on clothing especially (I did volunteer in one a while back, and was shocked at how they priced the most basic of things), but there are good prices, like 70% off for end of season. Is this a good idea - great prices, but less on trend? Thank you for your time! x

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 12 dny +1

      Omg this is so cool! It’s so insane to us that people from all over watch our channel - thanks so much for the comment :)
      It all depends on your average cost of goods per item and your average profit per piece. Whenever we make new decisions in our business, we personally always work backwards from how much is an acceptable profit margin for us and how much work will we have to put in to determine whether or not it would make sense.
      I hope this was helpful!!

    • @ritagreenwood9397
      @ritagreenwood9397 Před 12 dny +1

      @@TrashPandasThrift Yes, that did make sense - kind of like reverse engineering from the end objective! 😊 I've also taken to heart Bethany's tips on style sourcing, which has actually got me a bit excited, for thinking of ways to help the customer have a better shopping experience.
      Thank you so much for your time, and guidance!
      Best wishes to you! x

    Hello, I am trying to to grow right now. Currently I am small like 50-100 shoe listings a week. I want to get to 400 a week I only sell shoes my average cost of goods is $2 each pair. How much revenue should I expect to make or how do I calculate this? Do you use Vendoo or list perfectly?

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 14 dny

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment :) it’s very difficult to know what your revenue should be without knowing the kinds of items you’re actually sourcing, whether you’re doing live shows or listing on platforms (and what platforms), and so many other factors too.
      As far as crosslisting goes, we used vendoo for most of our business but also have used list perfectly recently and like it very much!

  • @inspiredthriftwiththeposhp6552

    Hey guys. Where are you finding current trends? Vlogs?blogs? What do you use? Thank you!

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 14 dny +2

      Hi! There are SO many ways to stay on top of trends - some examples are constantly watching and listening to trend videos and what solds, following fashion and fashion influencer accounts on social media, checking platform press releases about what’s trending, observing what people are wearing in major cities, etc.!

  • @WildCardTraders
    @WildCardTraders Před 14 dny

    I watch folks for research and there are tons of brands I never see when I'm out. For sure some stuff is regional. Then there is also the weird thing where one person has a great time selling a certain thing and you just can't sell that same item.

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 14 dny +1

      This is so true! In Austin we used to come across Johnny Was, Howler Bros and Aviator Nation alot more often, here in the Bay Area it’s just not that common (but other stuff is!)
      And so true about different things selling for different stores! I try and stress this for sure - we oftentimes sold Madewell and free people for the same we sold Lululemon for even though other people sold lulu for more and didn’t even want to sell free people!

    How much of your yearly net profit actually comes from reselling individual items in ebay/posh/depop other listing type platforms vs social media, CZcams, wholesale, and live apps like whatnot etc?
    I'm just curious

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 15 dny

      Hi! We haven’t been paid any money so far from social media. Of the $280K we made last year, 100% was from reselling! We were selling on eBay, posh, depop, mercari and FB marketplace, and we also began wholesaling in June-ish. Wholesaling still counts as reselling income for us - it’s just us reselling in bulk to other stores and resellers. We’re still going out and sourcing the pieces that we’d otherwise have listed online ourselves but instead selling them to others who sell on the platforms or have brick and mortar stores. :)
      As of this year, we’ve also started a reselling mentorship program teaching resellers how to start or grow their business with another reselling team (Cayley Elaine and her business partner Nikki) and the money we make from that makes up about 10- 20% of our total income at this point depending on the month - the rest comes from selling on whatnot and wholesaling. Thanks for your question and I hope this cleared it up!

      @@TrashPandasThrift it did, I'm just now looking into style based selling and I'm debating if poshmark live shows would be a better way to move a lot of it than ebay listing would.
      I have 88k poshmark followers so I'm thinking doing a "Cottage core live" and next week a "Y2K live" etc each week or every other week then listing what doesn't sell on the lives.
      I've just never ventured into live shows yet since up until now I've been brand based STR analytics selling

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 15 dny

      I totally get what you mean about the transition from STR and ASP sourcing to style based for sure! We had a lot of success selling style based pieces using keywords and trends on ebay and depop for sure - Poshmark too, but definitely not as much (though I have no idea about the live shows on posh, we sell on whatnot for our lives)
      Your ideas sound great! Experimentation is key especially when learning a new way of selling or entering a new category. Whatnot has been amazing so far - we really enjoy the platform and community, and we have success with selling style based and brands there too.

    • @brandondeakins564
      @brandondeakins564 Před 15 dny

      @@TrashPandasThrift I'm not sure about poshmark lives either, and I originally thought whatnot, but then after thinking about it I have a built in potential audience of 88k on posh vs noone on what not so I'm still unsure

    • @TrashPandasThrift
      @TrashPandasThrift  Před 15 dny

      Either one is totally worth a try! We had zero following on whatnot to start too - and we didn’t even have a following on social media at the time either (we had maybe 2200 on IG? And barely any followed or bought from there)
      Excited to hear how it goes either way - live selling is tons of fun for us personally!
