Great video !!!
338 Lapua
Fine work
300 Winchester magnum is the #1 caliber for an overall gun. Change my mind.
.338 RUM
@@jedijutn835 hell yeah, a 300 winmag will drop that grizzly in a second
this is true but have you tried .300 norma mag?
300 Win Mag is a 308 on steroids.
300 RUM is a 300 Win Mag on steroids.
300 RUM allows me to shoot heavier 308 bullets because of the longer neck. Up to 240s. 300 Win Mag limited to around 200 grains.
If I want to load lighter to match the 300 Win Mag, no problem.
If you like the 300 Win Mag, you will love the 300 RUM. Get both.
7mm REM Mag w 8 twist rate. 500-1000-1500-mile. Check the BCs and energy and shoot ability. :]
Good stuff!
I'm a Barnes man! 300 win mag
Love what you shoot. It's splitting hairs but a miss with a 308 at distance may be a hit with a creedmoor. It's just that simple. Never wanted a needsmoor but I wanted a rpr. Loved it ever since.
I am shooting 145 Match Burner and I would to lay my hand on some 112gr MB too.
300 WSM. Super flat trajectory and accurate.
The 300 win. Mag. With a 200 gr. E.l.d. Match will take care of anything, man or beast.
I have a 264 win mag the little brother lol
@@thesheepman220 and the .264 will get better results than 300 but not for much more than 500 rounds since it vaporizes barrel throat enough in that many rounds to cause bullet yaw, meaning few X-Ring hits at 1000 yards.
The winner is cartridge that gets VLD bullet to target with highest MOA wind constant. That would be a 6.5/284 with an MOA constant of 22 or other cartridge in that arena. If you know nothing about wind favors getup to speed on it or results with any cartridge will be dismal. Test: Shooting 175 SMK from 308 at 2610 fps having an MOA constant of 10 what is wind favor in inches at 1000 yards for a 10 mph full value wind?
7mm or 300 ultra mag.
Federal Premium ammo! All day long sub min of angel in the right gun
The venerable 30-06 is still KING in my book for long range and everything in between with a good hand load.
It's versatile and a classic but the 7mm Mag gives a huge bump in performance. The 06 can be loaded up but so can the 7 mag.
@@adamelam6385 maybe so but consider the price and the availability and the 06 still rules
@@pipedreams57 I like the 06, I have two. It depends on the intended purpose. If you are going to be taking 400 yard shots at elk the 7mm mag or even 300 win mag are going to be more up to the task.
@@adamelam6385 There are no elk here and I never try to take any game animal at more than 250 yards. Shooting at 4 or 5 hundred yards in NOT hunting in my book. Also the 7mm or 300 mag is about 2 pounds heavier with their 26" barrel and handle like a club, too much recoil for my taste. Brass is short lived, bullets are small selection, reloading costs are 25% higher, and barrel life much shorter. Not my cup of tea, for North America. Africa maybe. The skill is in the hunter,...not the rifle.
@@pipedreams57 if skill is in the hunter, you don't hunt past 250, and you have no elk there the .308 would do just as well. Short action, cheaper ammo, slightly better ammo availability, lighter weight (since that seems important to you), and less recoil. All of those benefits with only losing 125 fps.
Like my 6.5cm for long range and my 300prc for elr.
I can't decide between 300WM or 7MM Rem Mag.
...I like Big bullets' and I cannot lie....
7 ultra mag
300 wsm
Does the grain make a difference? I had heard 308 150grain was best to use with a 20inch barrel
Everything makes a difference
I would never shoot an elk with a 6.5 creed. Maybe within 100 m, but even then I'd feel much better if I had more energy available
The smaller .222 is a nice lil bullet
7mm,,08,
6.5 prc ..over a 6.5 Cm
Why don't people actually compare the 6.5 creedmoor with the 25-06s?
you are right, but people believe in high ballistic coefficients, particularly I use 270 for hunting and 30/06 for informal shooting I never had to use more than 140 and 165 grains 168 and 175, however overheating is always a problem, In addition, a shorter barrel is always more comfortable. If I had the possibility to choose another cartridge I would use the 7 or 270 wsm
I killed 2 white tail in November with a 7mm-08. I think I was shooting 139gr or something it's a really sweet shooting rifle. At 200 yards it might've ran 10 yards. Imo on white tail I can't do anything with a 300 or 7mag that I can't with a 7-08 up to 250 yards
So where do I find a 6mm creedmoor? 😁
Idk about where you live but they have 6.5 at my local gun shop. I like .338 lapua magnum but that one seems harder to find than the creedmore. Even 12mm is more prevalent than the lapua for some reason
@@TheBigChad Yeah I was talking about the 6mm not the 6.5. They did both in the video. I know 6.5 is pretty easy to find, although not super popular.
@@A6Legit I misread your comment, my bad. And yeah we don’t have 6mm here either. Just checked both websites for inventory and nothing lol. They can order it but the shit is hella expensive. I thought my Ruger 5.7 ammo was expensive...
@@TheBigChad No problem. I cant wait for prices to go back down. I was going to buy my first AR before this BS went down... Luckily I was stocked up on ammo for what I have, but I don't like seeing prices so jacked up. Every online ammo place appears to be out of stock for basically everything. 6mm appears to be a decent amount more than 6.5mm, makes no sense to me. How much is 5.7 ammo usually, or currently?
What about 45 70 Gov
It hits hard but the range is limited.
Remember that's a round originally for large game from black powder breech loaders, 45-70 is fun to shoot but it just doesnt have the ballistics of a .338LM or a 6.5 creed more or .300 Win Mag.
they drop like a sack of potatoes.
it's a big fat bullet, not very aerodynamic, made for punching hard at closer range. Most lever guns in the old west days were never intended to be shot out to 1000 yds lol
You guys missed 6.5 grendel better than .308
we have a “6.5 here” aka .264....been around forever.....yawn
6 EM EM aka .243. another bfd
a “7 EM EM” aka .284 will fuck any of those “6.5 EM EM’s” up; tell me i’m wrong
not saying none of those are not good, just saying the marketing machine is full of bullshit
If you don’t know bc what are you doing buying a precision rifle for long range lol
