Rob is a very humble person, I remember asking him if I could get my picture with him and he said sure don’t know why you would want my picture I am no one special.

"Learn how to jerk the trigger without moving the gun" -The Great One

My favorite quote of his. On fire control. Hold the gun really tight. Point the gun at the target, don't aim. Pull the trigger without moving the gun. That's it. That's all there is to it. Once fire control is in place then aiming will mean something. Doesn't matter if you aimed when you pulled the gun off target. I hate when folks blame the trigger. I jerk the trigger they say. Then learn how to jerk the trigger without moving the gun.

Learhom is an exceptional shooter no doubt about that. And there are shooters that are approaching his level of perfection. The reason that they are doing so it’s because they are pulling in as much time as he did in acquiring shooting skills. I have noticed my own ability and skill increasing tremendously because of the time iPod and Shooting. I will never be a Ron Leathom, and that is because I will never put in the amount of time that he does. What is great is that he is showing us how to become as good as he is. He is a tremendous attribute to the Shooting sport. And I hope he continues to educate us. Now I have known men who called out, shoot rob Leathom. They are combat veterans, and one of them told me if he could not shoot that well he would not be here today. He is faster and more accurate than Rob.

You can put in all of the time you can but will never be at his level. It is about God given talent.

Anybody noticed the “huge” sign in the background stating eye protection required! I guess they both had the eye pro close by 🤪🤓

I'm disappointed that Rob didn't mention how he and Brian Enos lived pistol shooting in the 80's which revolutionized competition pistol shooting. Look up the book "Practical Shooting - Beyond Fundamentals" by Brian Enos.
I believe Brian came up with the 'modern' way we grip the pistol today. In his book he relates a story of how he came about this.
It was good listening to Rob.

What's wrong with having fun, we are not pros. I do this sport because I enjoy firearms and defensive/tactical shooting. When I play any sport I play for competition but also to socialize with people that share the same interests. I'm not offended by his comments just sharing my own humble opinion about this sport.

The finish on the barrel, breach face & trigger group’s slide rails is horrible. Mine was new in box and looked like it had 1,000 rounds through it. The dealer offered a swap and sent me pictures of another one that was just as a bad. I handled a third in a local store and while it was slightly better, it still had more ware than a new gun should ever have. Springfield told me it was “normal” & sent me some swag as a consolation.

I was wondering why Rob looked so uncomfortable? Then I saw it. The mic is right up against his neck. So he can’t turn his head.

Rob has had back problems for quite awhile going back several years. That being said he was still out gunning everyone and winning. I shot with him in a group back in the early 2000's at the Single Stack Classic and watching him in person next to everyone else is insane. He shoots so fast it is hard to believe until you see it. The real scary part is what he can see! His vision was so acute he could tell you exactly wear the bullet hit on target instantly I mean INSTANTLY that you or I would struggle to see. He's one of the most friendly Pro shooter you could ever hope to meet. He is in every measure of the word a Legend!
