I just purchased a Les Paul tribute on Sunday. Arrived today. American Musical. You sound great!!!

Been wanting a Gibson for a while. Zzounds makes it easy to fit gear into a person’s budget.

  • @kentlindsaymusic

Very informative video! I also love the satin necks! Hey, where can I get a cool little scale like you have for measuring the weight of my guitars?

  • @jimmyhartman573

I agree , this Guitar is Gibsons best deal . . I got one of each color and the honey burst LP . .You might have to do some minor adjustments , perhaps a set-up and fret polishing but when done right these are KEEPERS . .I should say the one i had to get some work done on was a very early model 2019 . . the 2022 LP and walnut SG came to me almost perfectly set up . .

  • @paulcatarino2209

I wish Gibson would route the body for P90s as well, the large guard would cover the cavity and Gibson could offer a pre cut P90 pick guard as well.

  • @mattwilliams3104

As someone who prefers a binding-less neck, regular dot inlays, and a satin neck I went with this one and have slowly upgraded the pickups and all the wiring. nitro satin finish, rosewood board, nice case, and USA made used for about $800 to me is a great deal. You can still get a used epiphone SG for like $400 which is a ridiculously good deal but this one was my preference and I have been more than happy with it.

This is basically what Gibson sold as the SG Special Faded back in the 2010's, for half the price. Now, with the price doubled, about all they did was change the wood of the neck and remove the toggle switch plate. I know inflation is a thing and all that.. But I can't be the only one who finds the price doubling a bit outrageous. Luckily I got my Special Faded in 2011...

I’ve had mine for a year now and love this guitar! The poker chip won’t fit, aside from that I have no complaints. I haven’t changed a thing on it and I don’t plan to. I can see this guitar becoming a favorite among players.

  • @christerrio8108

I have the tony iommi signature sg coming next month. Can't wait

  • @Lowtech14

I’ve owned the equivalent of this guitar- main diff mahogany neck. Great guitars, and it’s amazing that a guitar that is so feather light can pack so much punch. The 490r is an uncommonly useful neck pickup, however I wish the 498t was the bridge pickup.

  • @fainnball8694

There was an awesome smokehouse burst SG at Guitar Center a few weeks ago. I didn't play it because it was out of my price range.

  • @DrJeebles

I have fallen in love with the Tributes. As far as new Gibsons go, they are exactly what I am looking for. They are also relatively affordable.

  • @budgetguitaristcom

I've always regretted not getting an SG Tribute back in the day when they were $550 used. It won't be long before you can't buy any used Gibson for under a grand. That said, I think $1,299 is a great price.

  • @johnvrabec9747

You have this and the Epi 335 and you've got it covered, IMO.

  • @r.honeycutt8660

I was surprised that Gibson did not do any shielding of the cavities or pick guard.

  • @AngelMartinez-qs3cf

Great video just as always. i have a question I have the Les Paul Tribute (Made in 2020) Is it worth buying the SG Tribute since the Les Paul Tribute has the same pickups, the 490s? Thank you.

  • @stephenmoore1961

Based on your review and after much research on my own i did buy this exact guitar from your link. I just received it this afternoon and i love the tone. The neck will take some time to get use to as it is bigger than my Fender strat and Martin D 16. Thanks for your review.

  • @andyx6

    Great review 👌😎
