      Lived in azle my entire life and it’s sad to see all the people moving here. Azle for most of my life was a country town. Now it’s turning into a place like Saginaw. All the woods are being torn down, the deer have nowhere to go, and the traffic is awful. Azle is being destroyed.

    Lived here way back in 2007 when one of the only places to eat out was a Sonic. It has grown like crazy.

      Right?! It grew up so fast!

      I graduated high school there in 1983, when one of the only places to eat out was the Sonic and the DQ. You're telling me that between 1983 and 2007, there is STILL only the Sonic?

      I was BORN there in 1966, moved away in 1997. Talk about changes! Where's Buddies? (it became Winn Dixie, now gone) Where's Jimbo's Chicken and Tiny Thom store on the corner?

    Just so you know. Coming from Azle into Lake Worth... You're gonna have traffic! Guess what, it's hasn't changed in 30 years.

    While there's no Chick-Fil-A, there is a far-superior option, Chicken Express!

    To much building and bringing in crime. Apartments right across the street from high School. Really to much traffic.

    This looks like a nice place to retire, but still be an active retiree. What about that lake? My daughter lives in North Texas she stated mosquitoes are everywhere at lakes of course in the summer. Is that a problem? I live in a desert town right now, and never even seen a mosquito.!!

    • @thedfwhomeowner
      @thedfwhomeowner  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yeah...mosquitos are going to be thing (lake or no lake). What I usually do for the backyard is get a few of those torches with insect repellent. And of course a bit of "Off" spray.

    Please don't bring more people here! And...do not build a Chick-Fil-A as I do not want to live in a suburb. I want to keep Azle - Azle.

      i want azle back to how it was before the wal mart!! no that would be nice...all these suburbs going up just killing our small town and destroying the hell out of what wooded areas we have left

      @@billycook9868 The parking lot of the WalMart is where the house used to be that I grew up in. It was at the back of the parking lot near the water tower.

    It's a great location but an ugly city with substandard schools.

      What would make it beautiful and what grades would make it above standard?

    • @BirdDogey1
      @BirdDogey1 Před rokem

      @The DFW Homeowner They need to take a hard look at their approach to planning. The last 30 years have been a municipal nightmare.
      The police department is held in slight regard.
      The schools place way too much into sports and not nearly enough into academics.
      They have a sports hall of fame for those that performed well in high school but no recognition of those they went on to attain professional success. For example, a national VP of Office Depot is an alumnus. That isn't me BTW.
      One positive note, it isn't Lake Worth.

      Good for you. This doesn't mean the schools aren't substandard. I had to go back and fill in many missing areas on my own. The District even lost its accreditation at one point. I I doubt losing your accreditation is a mark of superior performance. @@tornadotj2059

    RE "a affordable suburb"---Sorry, but I can't listen to anyone who doesn't know that "an" goes before a word starting with a vowel. I lived there in the '70s and '80s, and the schools were perfectly good (i.e., intelligent because no hires based on "diversity"). Have no idea what's happened there in the past 40 years. RE being an "ugly" city: This whole part of the state isn't that pretty. Great sky, though.
