It's amazing how certain events in the history of pro wrestling change, depending on the perspective of the person viewing them. I was ten years old in 1991, and I didn't even know that pro wrestling existed. My grandmother had a descrambler (yes, I'm that old, lol), and so we would go over to her house every weekend and watch free PPV movies. There were always several commercials that came on before the movies, and one night a commercial came on for Starrcade Battlebowl '91. I knew nothing about pro wrestling or anyone involved in it, but the commercial just made it sound like the coolest thing ever. I begged my grandmother to tape it for me, and she told me there was no way in hell she would tape that crap for me. The next weekend, she handed me a tape with "Stupid Wrestling" written on the label. I watched it as soon as I got home, and I immediately fell in love with professional wrestling. A show that is universally regarded as one of WCW's worst PPVs is the show that sparked my love for the business. I have been a super fan since that day.

I am 2 decades younger than you, but it was the WWECW that ignited my love for Wrestling with guys like Punk, Christian, Big Show (who looked awful but was booked to be a dominant force even beating Flair). Along with the RVD vs Cena match that was despised by the crowd but that I loved every second of

That WCW Japan Supershow led me into my love of Japanese wrestling . I hunted down every Puroresu show I could find be it AJPW or NJPW and it was WAY harder to find back then !!!!! But it was gold to me when I found it ! By 93 or 94 it became easier though still kinda expensive . Thank the wrestling God's for the internet and youtube now days .

Good video! However, and maybe I need to rewatch it because I missed something, but the final portion about USA versus the World seemed a bit off topic. Great content still, just maybe I missed the connection to the 1991 review.
Side rant...I was a huge UW fan as a kid. I was 9 going on 10 in 1991 and was devasted when the Sarge took the belt from him!

Yo man I really do enjoy your videos a lot. I just started going through your catalog by finding you randomly. Just to preface; I’m not trying to be a dick I promise, I like you and you for sure have potential to be great. My little criticism is that you copy and paste old things you’ve already made over and over. I’ve heard you talk about like ~10 different things a whole bunch of times. And that’s from just random videos of yours I’ve watched. Maybe you want the videos to be longer to run more ads? Idk the reason whatever, but it’s kind of idk disheartening to hear about the same thing across several different videos. Like bringing an event up again to reference something sure cool but just copying and pasting the same segments over and over is well, not good. Like I said not trying to be a dick but it’s something I’ve noticed is you using the same exact bits you recorded over like a couple years worth of videos it seems. I want to keep watching your videos and become a fan but it’s a little exhausting seeing the same bits redundantly. I really do love your content and I think you have a huge opportunity to become really awesome and get better and grow and hone this craft. Keep up mostly good work man. I just kept having these thoughts while watching your videos and I felt I finally had to leave a comment and say something. Sorry for all the words lol I’m not good at being short

That’s fair, maybe I’m wrong and maybe I was watching other videos from this series and not noticing it’s a part of a series. I didn’t like write down time codes or anything like some nut haha! It’s just something I’ve noticed over like maybe 10 of your videos I’ve seen now. Again not trying to be an ass or anything. I really hope you continue to grow and get better at making videos.

I understand your argument that some of the stereotypes and storytelling methods used in professional wrestling may not fit modern sensibilities, but there is a reason they have always worked, and continue to do so. Professional wrestling is like holding a mirror up to society, and sometimes that reflection is not something we want to see. As a trans person, I don't like the depiction of many LGBTQ characters within professional wrestling, but I also realize why we are depicted that way. Audiences continue to respond to those types of characters because that is what a large segment of society perceives us to be. Until that perception of us changes, those types of characters will continue to be used and will continue to be successful. As I understand this concept, I do not find it as offensive as I probably should. As we have seen with trans people in the US, you cannot force change before it's due time, or there will be unnecessary backlash that will cause that change to take even longer than it would have otherwise. These tropes will continue to work in professional wrestling as long as those stereotypes continue to exist in society as a whole, and as we have seen with AEW's failure to grow, you cannot force change until a large enough segment of people are ready to accept that change. Maybe one day stereotypes will cease to exist, but until they do, they are a necessary evil in professional wrestling.

17:21 I always thought if you were gonna bomb WrestleMania 7 at the Los Angeles Stadium then moving it to the arena didn’t make a difference. The Manchester Arena was bombed by a suicide terrorist and that building had a capacity of 18,000 far less than the 120,000+ capacity of the LA Memorial Stadium, so the bomb scare lie didn’t make any sense. Col. Mustafa aka the Iron Sheik was Iranian and Iranians hate Iraq even more than America did at that time with the Iran/Iraq war happening less than 20yrs earlier, with Iran winning that war until America put Saddam Hussain in charge of Iraq and giving them the weapons to win the war

I like you and thank you for giving me this timeline about the years in the wrestling in each video but you're really starting to make me sick with your anti American views are starting to show. Yes there are people who try to undermine the United States even our so-called friends in Europe and yes there is such thing as good and evil even when they are mixed in with. We needed that patriotism in the United States during the Gulf war because they were called to Serve their country and so what if we made it a storyline leading up to WrestleMania 7 it put a lot of smiles on people's face here in the states but unfortunately you don't know what it means to be an American.
