- Dear Diary, today I still had my tuition lessons booked in later in the day. So me and Myra thought it was a good idea to nip out to Islamabad and enjoy some cake to celebrate my 35th birthday. On our return to Wah Cantt we visited our local Karaf Hypermarket where Myra bumped into one of our subscribers. Allhummabarik.

Also, I wanted to ask you a question about the cost of living in Islamabad. Do you think an overseas retiree's monthly pension of USD 2000.00 would be sufficient to cover basic expenses like rent, food, and a housekeeper (cook)?
I am 70, single, and wish to return to Pakistan after living and working in the West for 42 years. Not sure if it is wise to return to a country which may be different from the one I fled as a young man. But no harm in exploring possibilities. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you. Stay cool!

Only bare in mind that cooks, cleaners, and drivers will bring good and bad into the home. If they can take advantage of you, they will. Even the locals complain about maids steal from them.
@@MyBritishPakistaniLife Thank you for the info. Safety definitely is one of my concerns. Looks like I am destined to run all household chores by myself which I have been doing in the West. Will continue the same routine of cooking, doing laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and making my own bed in the morning. No respite even in Pakistan. That's no fun. Be well.

@shazhusssain1738 Yes, you can get a lot of UK products here. I will try and vlog it. Although I'm trying not to promote products that I'm boycotting, and most products I've seen from the UK that are imported here are on the boycott list.
Yes, There are stores that you can get UK products from. ill recommend Esajees store in Rwp Isb, there are other stores aswell but Esajees stocks most of the UK products you'll need. OH yes, Don't forget to avoid the boycotted items.
