    As salaam aleikum akhi. What would be the approx break even time to recoup a solar panel set-up so that you don't have to rely on the electricity company but instead be able to use and store your own?
    Great vlog as always.

      @@MyBritishPakistaniLife Break even happens at around 4 years. We installed a 10W setup in Islamabad, back in February, for around 14 lac. It's an on-grid system with no batteries. Produces around 56-64 units a day depending upon the sunlight etc. Right now is probably a good time since the prices have come down a bit.

      @deirdrenugent1887 The truth is we actually don't cope with the heat. What we do love here is experiencing the different seasons. Whereas in the UK or Ireland, it's the same grey skies 11 months a year.

    Salaam as you teach GCSE level subjects to students back in England can i ask what subjects you teach brother? and have you not looked into doing Private Tuition for students in Pakistan as a extra income, i am pretty sure anyone coming from England as a teacher to Pakistan would also be in high demand to teach English subjects in one of the many Private schools in Pakistan and as you live in Islamabad which is a modern City you would be not short of offers to get a job as a English teacher in the many Private schools in Islamabad.

      @cheetah8667 walaikumsalaam, yes, I have looked into it. Basically, I make more working online 10 hours a week tutoring kids in the UK and then working 5 days a week in a school.
      Even private tuition is not well paid enough for me to take on local children.

      @@MyBritishPakistaniLife I just had a look at tuition rates its between £20-40 per hour even then I could never have fathomed that in Pakistan the pay was that poor suppose you need to try get a few more students to teach from UK it's a nice earner for 10hrs a week only well done.Like your missus said "work smart not hard" fairplay...

      Or if you did a monthly budget breakdown of what a typical one would like for a British family of 2 or 3 who moved to islamabad or wah cannt and other bidden costs etc like you said budgeting for gifts and the variance.

      @@hn1695 So many other places in Pakistan people moving from UK to Pakistan can live in, and be way cheaper if you was on a smaller budget. It all primarily depends on what you spend you can live off as little as £200-300 a month or could easily spend well over £3k a month even more it all depends on yourself, so any budget is down what kind of lifestyle people moving from UK to Pakistan want to live.

    Have you ever thought of moving out of Pakistan to another country before? Because Pakistan in my opinion is not really a safe country especially if you want to start a family.

  • @TheTeaisDelicious
    @TheTeaisDelicious Před 20 dny +1

    Pakistan is not a poor man’s Dubai! It’s expensive. If you don’t own a house and have to rent then in isloo you’re looking at 2-4K a month £! That’s to cover rent, food, utilities, fuel for car and generator, school fees, socialising, etc. To buy a house in isloo you need between 500-700k £ it ain’t cheap and it’s a cut throat place. I meet British expats regularly and they typically leave after a year or three tops. Not a place for the faint of heart I’m afraid.

      @TheTeaisDelicious thank you for sharing. I completely agree, I think this is prices for the main F,G,E sectors, but yes its not cheap to live here hence why I always advise £1500 per month minimum.
