US vs Australia Taco Bell | Food Wars | Insider Food - Zábava
I was just thinking “did they upload a new food wars video?” While I was eating dinner & I come on CZcams & lo and behold they have! Yay love these videos😊
Thanks for watching!
In the United States, we know that Taco Bell has absolutely no relationship with Mexican food. Taco Bell is pure Taco Bell. That's why we love it.
I mean, soft tacos are from Mexico…
@@jackietreehorn5399 mexican tacos contain literally zero of the ingredients in a taco bell soft taco lol
@@mr.cook5Taco Bell literally took all its influence from Mexico
@@mr.cook5try tacos dorados de Mexico. That’s where Taco Bell got its influence
@@creepnasty5370 you're comparing a tacquito to, what, a hard shell taco from taco bell? two entirely different dishes with a common ancestor... it's a cute comparison but I think it actually makes my point more solid.
I love this Australian woman! Being someone from southern Arizona it’s adorable seeing her try so hard to say churro but then butcher jalapeño. No shame truly just admiring the cuteness!
Who is she ?
@@mariesophie-6583 Brittany Andonovski
They got to bring back the Doritos Locos cool ranch taco. I miss that so much.
I remember when Taco Bell used to fry tortillas and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on them instead of the cinnamon twists. I preferred them more. But that was like 40 years ago 😂
Australian menu is minimalist... but they are still fairly new here so hopefully that will expand in time.
I'm more a "Guzman y Gomez" guy myself.
Taco Bill's is a proper sit down restaurant, not a fast food outlet. Food is pretty good too.
Almost 6 and a half years isn't new
@@nicholasbyrne6485 they have been in one state for that time. Only 40 stores nationally today.... they're new in the grand scheme of things.
GYG is def worth the extra money compared with how expensive Tacobell is for what you get
@@nicholasbyrne6485 chatswood franchsie open this year so new to northshore sydney
I’m campaigning for them to bring Joe to Australia, and show him Oporto.
But hold on there’s Taco Bell in Australia?
I’m from Australia and I didn’t even know we had Taco Bell, never seen one before.
There's not many yet but there's a lot coming
theres only about 10 in melbourne from what i know
Same here. There isn't many stores in Brisbane from what I've seen online, and all of them aren't near my local area.
I live in Sydney only seen one in CBD while Guzmen are everywhere lol
There is 2 in Perth
Potato taco is the best thing! Adding potatoes to everything is the go to
I wish they would bring back the caramel apple empanadas😭
They announced they will be doing a vote later in the year between the caramel apple empanada and the meximelt, with the winner coming out around Halloween.
The worst crime in modern times is the fact international Taco Bell doesn't serve Baja blast.
dont think anywhere outside of the US has Baja Blast im pretty sure only regular mountain dew and sugar free mountain dew are avaliable outside of the US
A lot of countries don't even have Mountain Dew of any type!
Here in india we just have the simple Mountain Dew😂 no BajaBlast no sweet lightning
German here. I've never seen anything but mountain dew outside the US and I'm pretty sure it's because of the ingredients. A Baja blast would definitely be illegal plus I don't think we would like it, and I don't know even one person who drinks or even knows mountain dew.
Yeah Australia only have the Simple Mountain Dew.....Also MTD isnt that popular in Australia.
Thanks for useful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
We actually do have hot sauce packets in Australia, mild and fire. I don’t know if you can only get them in store, though.
But y’all are missing out the yellow 5,and Baja blast, which I saw Jolly, where Josh and Ollie distributed a sample of Baja blast to high school students, and they said that the Brits fell in love with it.But it was packed with over 100g of sugar in a US Large!Instant sugar rush!
I can’t wait for Insider Food to do a US vs Australia Pizza Hut episode.
I don’t know anybody that’s eaten Taco Bell before in Australia, we just end up grabbing Gyg or take away from a proper joint.
Guzman y Gomez?
You’re missing out, Taco Bell trumps Guzman y Gomez 🌮
@@nathankelleher idk man, I’m looking at some Taco Bell and it’s not the prettiest
@nathankelleher the only thing good about taco Bell is the free refills and the crunch wrap and the cheesy taco but other then that the chips and tacos are better at gyg
@@nathankelleher Mad Mex trumps Guzman crap ,i tasted it in Chatswood it terrible
There is a Taco Bell where I live in Australia but I never go there because the value-for-money isn't there compared to the other fast food options I could pick.
And the service is crap... went there at 11:30am for lunch and they weren't ready to take my order..KFC next door full of people.. Hawthorn store in Melbourne...a bit expensive for fast food.. Dandenong store doesn't serve pork... halal only
you kidding it better value than kfc & mcdonlad and tastes better
I miss the 7 layer Burrito who remembers that.
Fave from back in high school!!!!
That burrito measurement was intense
Always interesting to see how major fast food companies are interpreted and cultural views in other countries. Love the commentary. 🌮 👏 😋
10:40 🎶Fiesta, salsa, quinceañera, baila
Siente el ritmo, ponte a sonreír🎶
The Mexican pizza has my heart ❤
The Doritos Locos Tacos are one of my favourites, too; we also have them in Canada.
Pheonix drinks? THEY ARE CLEARLY SCHWEPPES!!!
I think in USA for sure even for delivery (which is the only rationale) you can get like a suitcase of like 6-each of: soft and hard and burritos and maybe more. It costs more than what the USA presenter said.
The taco bell near me in melbourne is cheaper than the prices she mentions, i guess they are not all the same in aus
I think the best TB menu in the US was in the 90's. 7 layer burritos, Steak soft taco Supremes & Enchiritos. The Mexican pizza, prior to the deletion of all the yummy toppings, was truly something to relish. I love the grilled versions of burritos they serve now and the cinnabons. The cinnamon rocks as a finish to your meal. Of course, the cinnabons are a great sugar rush any time!
Thank you for sharing this video. I always wonder what "Mexican McDonalds" is like elsewhere.
Goes to Taco Bell buys a burrito and put it next to compare😂
There are no Taco Bells even close to where I live. The only time I ate at them was when I was in the States, loved the Mexican Fiesta Rice Bowl, but they discontinued them.
Bringing back the pukka shell necklace ftw
Phoenix drinks? Those are Schweppes, as it clearly states on the bottle.
That little Taco Bell Chihuahua is so adorable, he inspired several movies and a Chihuahua fad around the world.
My mom received (as a gift) all the plushies of the Chihuahua that played taglines when you squeezed them. After she passed away, my dad gave them to the dogs as toys. It was hilarious to hear them screaming (the toys not the real dogs) before my dad realized giving toys with live electronics inside to dogs was a bad idea. He was so looking forward to getting rid of them LOL
That story at the end was wild 😂
_Australia TB has no Baja Blast? What kind of absurdity is that?_
US only. And Mountain Dew isnt popular in Aust either.
@@KuroRyuu86_Not US only. We have it here in Canada as well_
Liking the breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired outfit Britt.
22:30 there was a Taco Bill’s in Newcastle until about 10 years ago and it was the absolute bomb for Mexican food. It was part of that court case as well.
1:05 Crunchwrap Supreme, there we go!
where did she find a taco bell? literally never in my life seen one anywhere. didnt even know they were in Australia
Where in Australia you live
I'm glad you were so literal about it.
@@s125ish Adelaide but lived in qld and been to Hobart, Sydney and melbourne.
As an Australian, I’ve only ever been to one, never seen another since that time (believe it was in NSW somewhere) but as someone who has lived in SA, QLD and VIC I haven’t seen them anywhere except for that place in NSW
Had a look. There are 38 in Australia, but none in South Australia or Tasmania. Annerly in Brisbane was the first one to open, in 2017. If you excluded the failed ones that opened up in Sydney the 1980,s.
For the most part they are in the residential areas of South East QLD, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, not really places any traveler or tourist would normally need to go to. Haymarket in Sydney been one notable exception. I go past one here in Brisbane quite often, though have never stopped and tried it.
Do not slam my favorite cinnamon twists!!! They are so addictive!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I agree whoever decided to make the Doritos taco is a genius! My favorite taco along with the Gordita Crunchwrap! That chocodila looked disgusting!
Those twists are so good but they give me immediate indigestion.
BUT THE PAIN IS WORTH IT!
Criminal not to highlight the creamy jalepeno sauce. Best item on the menu
I know French people get that title of “Sexiest Accent” but the Females in Australia 🇦🇺 easily in the “Top 3 Most Sexy Accents” in the world.. it’s starting to become my favorite accent ❤
My favorite Mexican-esque food item is not sold by taco bell....crunchy flour tacos. In my town, we have taco tico and taco shop chains that do offer crunchy flour tacos....but they don't deliver like taco bell does.
Yes there is a Taco bill near me - its not great but it may depend on the franchise you go to. Its known largely for their fishbowl margeritas (it is what it says - a fishbowl of margerita) and a cute sombrero hat that comes with it when you order it. Taco Bill is more of a sit down mexican restaurant and not a fast food and the food felt very microwaved last time i went there and you dont feel well afterwards.
i love these videos, but they also miss the how custom some of the orders can be. Chicken chalupa or steak versions of certain items are real game changers flavorwise
It's fun they call it "ranch" in Australia because that flavor in most of the world is called something like "Cool American Flavor" or…?
In the UK the ranch flavour Doritos are called Cool Original. But ranch as a sauce is just ranch, however it's still not that well known here.
Solo isn’t like lemonade … It’s a lemon squash - but perhaps the best lemon squash, ever …
The potato soft taco has nothing to do with being vegetarian, it's just good! steak is also a great addition to it if you want it to be meaty
How is nobody talking about the Australian Gal just open facing the burritos like a savage?
I wouldn't really trust the weights of everything. Just because the spec is the standard, most employees don't follow the spec so your weights will definitely vary depending on store, on location and on employee. I was famous for my "fork n knife" burrito when i worked at a Taco Bell. It was so big and so out of spec that you needed a fork and knife to eat it! (Unless you wanted all the toppings to fall out the bottom when you eat it with your hands!)
As an Aussie, I've never actually tried Taco Bell before. I know they have some in Perth but never really thought about it before.
Should do a usa vs australia nandos and gyg. I believe there are a couple locations in the usa
Taco Bell Australia is trying to be a little upscale. The one in Prahran has alcohol and live music. Which one would I rather eat? American TB. We don’t have refried beans here, just black beans. I found that AUS TB was bland. It’s not 5 star by any means, but when I went back to US I was much more pleased by the cheap and cheerful TB flavour.
Hey @Insiderfood - Food Wars... why isn't here a cool new NZ vs USA/UK/AUS??? We have a lot of the same places as you guys!!!
Someone please teach Ms Aussie how to say jalapeño. Its like nails on a chalkboard! Thank you!
😂😂
Kangaroo queen is perfect on her own accent ❤
It's always cringe how them and Brits pronounce it incorrectly
Taco Bill has been around in Victoria for decades. They are okay, not fast food though. They are a restaurant (maybe they do delivery now). They are more famous for their margaritas (including the fish bowl margarita, which I think is about two litres). I used to go to Taco Bill, but there are better places to go now.
They are two different businesses
@@dmangsmile Correct
Didnt even know we had taco bell here in Aus, would like to try it if I see it though
it's not doing very well so unlikely to have expansion. Not many stores and some have already closed down despite not being open long.
The brisk dragon is my favorite drink
The US used to have the Grilled Stuft Burrito, though.
Personally if I’m in the mood for Mexican, I’m getting Guzman y Gomez - I just had their nachos Thursday for lunch. I’d like to try Taco Bell, just because but the nearest one is probably 4 hours from me
Aussie prices are a lot 😮 In the UK there are box deals for much less, there's one with a burrito, taco, fries, 2 churros and a drink for £8.50. It's probably some of the cheapest chain fast food for the quantity you get, I reckon
Can we have these two do food tours?
hot girls holding a big burrito is an oddly calming experience
😐
I have a hard time believing that Australian Mexican restaurants are any more authentic than American restaurants.
No chance.
There are only 7500 Mexicans living in Australia so you are probably right to be sceptical.
In terms of Fast food. We have 3 chains. Mexican Restaurants as a whole we don't have many. Mexican Food isnt That popular in Aust just yet. Only in the last 10yrs there have being a resurgence.
We do have authentic Mexican restaurants, but not necessarily more authentic Mexican chains/fast food. Where I live in Melbourne we have a decent sized Latin American community, some beginning in the 70s/80s and over 30% having moved here in the last five years. Most people are from Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, with some (but not as many) people from Mexico. I don’t think our Mexican food would be more authentic that states in the American southwest, considering their proximity to Mexico, and that they used to be part of the country.
Australia is really good at authentic cultural food, particularly Asian, better than the UK or anywhere I’ve travelled in Europe. But there are some ingredients which aren’t very common here so it would be more difficult to get authentic Mexican food. If I want Mexican then I won’t get fast food, I’ll go to a good restaurant or generally just eat at home.
I get food from Guzman y Gomez very often, but like Taco Bell in the US, I’m not expecting authentic food as I usually get the nacho fries. GyG is really good food, we go there because most of the food is gluten free and the only place my partner (who is coeliac) has not gotten sick from gluten contamination. Zombrero have decent burritos, I haven’t been to Mad Mex or Taco Bill in years but they’re okay. I thought Taco Bell wasn’t in Australia, I’ve never seen one and don’t know anyone who’s been before.
First let me say putting these two young woman together is a great idea and second I used to have a girlfriend who was half Mexican half Puerto Rican and I was not allowed to eat taco bell and she meant it 🫔🌯🌮
The Mexican Pizza isn’t bad, but it’s not my favorite. My favorite choices are the Chalupa meal, the crunch wrap, and the Nachos Bell Grande’. I usually get a Baja Blast or sometimes if I see the Mountain Dew Lightning( KFC has that too). I’m not a fan of the Doritos shell. I tried it when it first came out. I prefer the regular hard shell tacos.
I think the NZ menu is pretty similar to the Australian menu. Honestly the menu is pretty small and just meh here. I don't get why we don't get some of the popular USA menu items
When are you doing more US/UK foreign exchange? There were the best....
I live in Mexico and I always wanted to try Taco Bell, but there are no stores here 😅😅
Me a Taco Bell employee watching this right after leaving Taco Bell
I can see why people want Joe, first you disparage the best item on the menu, the steak grilled cheese burrito.. Then you disparage the Mexican pizza, the second best item, good bye.
exactly! She doesn't know the drinks either. Why would you have someone try to explain what taco bell is who doesn't even know what she's taling about. She clearly hates taco bell maybe only went there once. God im so mad
I’m American but I live in Oz now and I miss Taco Bell SO MUCH
Yeah I have eaten at taco bill. It sucks, best thing they have is Margarita fish bowl
Taco bell would rate better i think. Also Zamberero or Zambies is wicked
Once again why does Australia have churros but Murica doesn't
didn't we used to? I could've sworn my local taco bell had some when i was a kid growing up
@thecunninlynguist I didn't go often but they were more seasonal from what I remember. But my point is you'd think they'd be a permanent item
@@mg0020 instead it's cinnabon, lol.
@@thecunninlynguist or those twist things
I visited my son in the US. He loves Taco Bell. He bought me a quesdilla and burritos. I thought the quesdilla meat filling reminded of cat food.
Didn't even know Taco Bell was in Australia and don't know of a single person who has ever been there in Australia. 🤣
The numbers don't lie, we don't care about the food comparison, we liked those two men interacting in odd continual but post shot conversations. These ladies are good but the chemistry is the same distance as the locations. But I wish you well and God bless 🇺🇲
the jalepeno crunch burrito sounds good...that lava crispy chicken taco too...wow she's never had or seen a mexican pizza? That suddenly makes me feel OLD, lol. it's one of my go to's
Good videos but can you split these up, or shorten them or something? I am interested in these but half an hour per comparison is just too much time investment
I search it up and there only 39 taco bell in Australia as of February 3 2024 that only nearly 5 per state
Taco Bill is a restaurant chain, not fast food. Giant margaritas and party sombreros with diy fajita platters is sort of the vibe. There's a few all over Melbourne, not sure how many exist.
26. One in Albury and the rest are in Vic.
Taco Bell is back in Australia? How and when did this happen? Does Australia have the Baja Blast drink?
0:20 😂😂
We have Taco Bell?
Taco Bell prices have increased over the last few years. Maybe not as much as other fast food restaurants but still a noticeable increase.
guys, we get it. you can stop buying bigger quantities of the same greasy, dry slop. save the money and packaging, we all know how 'murican mush looks like
A total miss opportunity from our US representative was she didn't mix the Mt. Dew Baja Blast and Strawberry Lemonade. It tastes like a Strawberry limeade!
I'm in love with my fellow aussie 😍keep her on! lol
You'd be lucky to find one here on Aus to begin with. Only heard of one in NSW. Anyway GYG & even Mad Mex better food.
Agreed.
@insiderfood where does tried food go arter trying just a bite?
I miss the grillers.
Same here.
A mango based economy?!
You literally have to eat Taco Bell in the car, by the time you get home everything is soggy and gross.
I was wine drunk once after a bad day and ordered Ubereats to my house and got Taco Bell for nostalgia reasons. Worst idea ever. Everything was awful. And if you think being drunk made it palatable, it did not. My dogs wouldn't even eat the wilted lettuce and stiff tortillas. Threw it away, rethought life choices.
In Australia, we dont tend to like Mountain Dew. So not many fast food places have it.
good video
Thanks for watching!
taco bell in the uk is pretty expensive, definitely not my first choice of fast food when i dont want to spend much
I love taco Bell reheated .
We don't have baja blast in Taco bell in the netherlands
