    I got this watch for £1350 in perfect condition not a scratch on it which is amazing for the age. It didn’t come with original box or papers but bought off a legitimate local watch dealer with a great reputation for his shop and also a good friend of my dad (maybe another reason why I got it cheap). I’ve got two Rolex’s and the James Bond titanium seamaster but this is my favourite watch despite being my cheapest my gran told my dad to give me a 2k limit on a watch out her inheritance so it holds a lot of sentimental value

    I think it looks very small in the hand but absolutely perfect on my wrist. It is indeed very comfortable on the wrist but if the bracelet were to taper down to 18mm, it would be even more so. This is such a great watch and I do no know how likely Omega will offer another true midsize diver anytime soon. Chances are, it would be a 38mm refresh, if at all. Incidentally, my Omega Weemaster was a $1700 USD impulse buy from a Japanese pawn shop and two years later, I have no regrets.

  • @mathewazzopard8100
    @mathewazzopard8100 Před 3 lety +2

    The upgraded versions are simply great, replacing the aluminum insert and the pins in the bracelet was although delayed, a wise move. The previous version, which I bought mid 90s in Chrono was the reason I never buy a diver's with aluminum bezel. After one summer season at sea the blue bezel almost turned colorless. My only complain with the 2017 versions I bought is the absence of micro adjustments on the clasp and the half links don't cut it. The mid size is a great option for wrists smaller than 6.25". Especially in black, it's a versatile watch, it may be worn with anything. Wise choice Abe, buying back your SM. After buying the Sub and having back your SM am sure you can see they are 2 different watches. The under $2k price is a great value for money deal. Edit: awaiting the Lange review, I did mention that to me the brand holds the top of the watches pyramid.

      @@leonheuer9076 hi Leon, basically anything above cal 2500, everything with that movement are aluminum inserts/pins for bracelet links. I don't have anything with the current cal 8800 but I own 3 from the previous, 8500. Ceramic insert/screws for bracelet links, same type of screw as Rolex-oyster. Given the cal 8800 is the latest, I bet you can find great deals with pre-owned (in mint condition) with cal 8500.

    • @mathewazzopard8100
      @mathewazzopard8100 Před 3 lety

      Actually the skeleton hands and the scalloped bezel were on SMs from mid 90s that they launched the new line. At the same time, or almost, they presented models with sword hands. Back then I bought 1 plain, 1 Chrono, and 1 Chrono America's Cup that was 45mm. The AC was with sword hands. They always kept the scalloped bezel as some form of SM mark. Coin bezels were introduced with the PO line. I don't really mind the scalloped or skeleton but I opt for sword, they are definitely better. I recently bought a SM which was pre-owned, skeleton, but the confirmation was like new, under warranty with full pack plus 3 straps and in addition to all that the price was great. Had to set aside the swords lol.
