A 5 year plan from mid championship to UCL is WILD. If i said we will be in Champions league 5 years ago people would have ruled me out as mad, and understandably so.
This happening is like taken from a movie.
    Magical! UTV

A couple of years ago I said to some mates at work that we'd be in the champions league within 5 years. They laughed in my face. I took great pride in laughing back last night!😂

I've been ridiculed for years for believing in NSWE. I've been told that Villa are a relegation club, we were a 1 man team, our fans are entitled and delusional and on and on.
People said the same thing about Wes Edens winning the NBA too.
      VILLA VINDICATED

I love the new set up of the Champions league too.
    4 home games
    4 away games
    8 different opponents
Fantastic to be a part of the new set up.

As Manchester city had lost in their last 4 league visits to Spurs nothing should've been taken for granted,as a long time Villa fan it was obviously fantastic that the result went against Spurs & after a 41 year wait we finally have UCL football to look forward to next season, amazing!!.... up the mighty Villa!!! 😊💜💙⚽🏆✌️

My first Villa game was 1972. 5-1 win at home to Torquay United. Third Division. 1975 League Cup 1-0 win v Norwich (Ray Graydon), then 1982 of course…..been a hard road.

August 2017, we lose 3-0 vs Cardiff with a lineup of:
    Johnstone
    Hutton
    Chester
    Terry
    Taylor
    El Mohamady
    Lansbury
    Whelan
    Onomah
    Agbonlahor
    Hogan
    Feels like lightyears away!

Dont underplay the 94 League Cup win, the comeback against Tranmere, beating a United team going for a domestic treble. The cup meant much more in those days as well.

I'm 41 and not sure its the biggest thing in my lifetime. I think I'd place it 2nd maybe. The playoff final against Derby for me was super special as it got us back where we should be, and started this wild ride. Even the last day survival at West Ham is close. 7-2 Vs Liverpool another top 5 moments, because Liverpool weren't bad, we were just so good that day.

What an amazing season! And on the balance of play we should have beaten Liverpool on Monday. Absolutely unbelievable that we have Champions League football to look forward to next season.
Well done to everyone connected to Aston Villa - our manager, players, staff, owners, celebrity fans (Tom Hanks, Prince William), and of course our amazing Aston Villa fan base and supporters. Oh and our great dedicated Villa vloggers! Thanks Dan, Gregg, Dave, & Jacob. UTV 💜💜

I really want Watkins to play on Sunday because I'm desperate for him to get 20 PL goals. No Villa striker has done that before, what a bit of icing that would be.

Discussing managing the players loads and having time to switch off properly near the end, don’t forget, it’s the euros/copa this summer and the olympics (not sure if any of our players will be called up to their respective national football teams), and then the players are expected to go on tour to the US. I think it could be a tough preseason for a few players and could see us taking a lot of kids on the tour. If teams go deep in their respective tournaments, they’ll need a week or two off, then rushing to the tour and before we know it the season starts. It will be interesting to see how Unai manages this.

It has without doubt been a great season, no question. I do think though that finishing fourth, and the 3rd-tier Euro run, has meant more to the younger fans that haven't seen these kind of results before; and by that I'm probably taking about the 35 yo and younger. For me, I'm a lot older and see it as another big improvement, and a steppingstone towards doing something really worth celebrating which hasn't happened since 1996. The surprising thing for me is the speed at which it has all turned around. Everything is ultimately owed to the owners, Nassef and Wes, and what they've put in place over the last six years. Hopefully there is far more to come, and a shot at some serious silverware soon. The future is bright; the future is claret and blue. UTV

Definitely sunk in for me - its been 40 years coming, I'm afraid since 1982 it's been downhill. The current ownership management combo is the best I've known, it beats Saunders (who I loved) he was hampered by the Bendalls, only to then be followed by Ellis, who with the best will in the world couldn't handle strong ambitious managers. Happy days ahead, can't wait to see the future.

the problem with the automated offsides is they voted against having gps chip in the ball like they had at the club world cup which means when the camera can’t clearly divine it then it goes to var to favour which ever team they want to

Cheers Dan/Gregg, probably one of best if not the best seasons for me supporting Villa over the last 40 years. So many ups and downs but what an achievement reaching the Champions League. Never thought we’d reach these heights.
Keep up the great podcasts and keep them coming over the summer if you can? Always enjoyable to watch after a tough day at work.
Looking forward to some crazy transfer rumours over the next couple of months but let’s hope we don’t have to sell a valuable squad member just to stay compliant. Enjoy your summer and thanks again UTV 💪🏻🟣🔵

Ronny Rosenthal miss so much worse than Diego Carlos. His miss is career-defining. He was a striker too! You see a Diego-style non-connection with a fizzed-in cross several times a season. Not usually from that range admittedly.

Buzzing to make champions league. I’d honestly want Arsenal to win the league if it wasn’t for their fans. They’d be unbearable 😂
