Media are fuming we’ve got 4th, either not talked about our achievement or people like Simon Jordan saying if we don’t get Champions League next season he’ll be sacked 🙄 but then defending spurs saying they haven’t failed this season.
I wonder what Jordan would of said if it was villa in spurs shoes? If we were top of the league unbeaten after 8 games etc....
He would be saying we bottled it if we were in spurs position now lol
One hour of Jordan and White talking about the culture at Spurs. It was pathetic.
I've stopped listening to them. They talk total crap
I think this team hasn’t just appeared overnight, it was one of the youngest in the league under smith right up to Gerrard arriving. He added some older players but ultimately the youngsters maturing have formed the basis for Unai. Both Smith and Unai have set milestone records on the way, 10 wins on the trot, most games won at home, only team to survive in our position with 7 games left, this teams done everything but win a cup and is just in its prime.
Just like to say a massive well done and thank you for your podcast coverage over this incredible season. Literally fantastic!!! 💜💙 UTV Lads
Being even older than Matt (!) I've been disappointed too many times to go completely overboard but this is the best I remember since the mid 1990s. I'll go further, Emery is the best manager we've ever had, the two Ronnies included. In fact I don't think it's even close.
As a supporter for 50 years, it's often been "just as long as we beat the blues", then "as long as we beat Utd" Bloody hell what aspiration do i have as a Villa fan now?
Beating Stevenage?

Mr. Emery said something on Monday night which I think really speaks to the character of the man. In his post-match remarks he expressed his concern for Zaniolo, who had to come off injured only a few minutes coming on as a sub. He stated that the medical staff will assess him and do everything possible to help him be fit for the Euros where he hopes he will be part of the Italy squad. Bear in mind that this a player who we might generously say has been a qualified success at Villa and who might not ever kick a ball for Emery again. Plenty of managers wouldn’t give a player in that situation a second thought, Emery clearly feels otherwise. I think it demonstrates a capacity for inspiring loyalty from his players that matches his tactical brain. Players and supporters alike are lucky to have this mean running our team.
We’ve all seen the Alex Ferguson clip after the Newcastle loss game 1. Do great managers recognise other great managers before the rest of us. We have a special manager, so looking forward to the next few years.

Having managed Villa in the champions league in FM24 with the new champions league format, I can speak from experience that you need around 16 points minimum usually to qualify directly for the round of 16. I have won it about 40 times
That’s is weirdly good indormation
Can’t get enough of all the content today! Still buzzing 💜💙💪🏽
The new champions league format sounds really good and i think it'll actually help villa progress into the next stages where the last format we'd have probably struggled..its now all about getting all our injured players back fighting fit and who we sign in the summer ..all really exciting
Well done to every villa fan, supporting the lads threw highs and lows over the last few years... But... We've done it, the players have done it, Unai has done it. UCL here we come ❤❤ lets look to finish top 4 maybe 3rd next season. Keep progressing year on year.
UTV... Villa till i Die
I think the Brighton 6-1 game was our most important because that was when Watkins first came into form and just didn’t stop for the rest of the season
I'm just going to enjoy looking back at the season, this season has stressed me out like no other over 30 years just because I wanted Champs League so bad, I'll think of next season after the Euros..let's just enjoy the next couple of months
Im really proud of the Villains, don't really know what will we do in Champions League but we haven't played there since 1982
1983
its a shame we just came up short in the cup,, we are better than what we saw,, injuries and suspentions and fatigue just got the best of us,, its been really tough for a few months
with the two games a week,,, but when you compare how we have done compared to brighton newcastle man u and west ham it has been pretty remarkable
If Birmingham city fall of the pools coupon I'll be a happy man a Villa fan who grew up in South Brum
I think Leverkusen will win Champs League next year! The intensity and creativity of their football around and in the box is next level! If City are a souless robotic machine, Leverkusen are like Picasso playing Chess! Theyll be frightening next year! 20+ points ahead of Bayern, think on that! 😬
Glad to hear it 😘
The aim will be a trophy along with the same or better league performance.
I think the pots are split across top teams sit in each pot and the middle and lower are evenly spread also therefore ensuring no pots of doom or death!....
just want to say what a great season started a little shakey finnished a little leggy but inbetween was legendary and also a big shout to all the backroom staff who do there jobs without question or fame but are as important as the rest of the club
i think the slow grind starts now of inching ourselves higher in terms of position or consistency. can see us hovering up and down around the 7th - 4th/3rd positions for a few years while we try and force ourselves as high as possible. Any European spot finish for us is a success. so 7th or above and a challenge in one of the 3 competitions. wether thats ucl conference fa cup league cup etc. if we can do any of that each year thats bloody amazing. Just dont want to turn in one of those teams that claims to be having a terrible season if were not in the top 4 every year, like man u, like spurs etc. We need to be happy with anything around 7th or above. Were not going to have fantastic season every season, the same way you cant win every game of football.
Very sensible. It's such a competitive league especially with ourselves and Newcastle joining the party. 4 (or 3) out of 8 big teams will miss out on CL going forward. Finishing e.g. 5th or 6th next season will not necessarily be a failure.
Id take 6th for nxt season or even 7th
As I said few weeks ago, next season there will be a new top 6 and we will be part of it, so the media need to get used to it 😁
Do you think Emery will put a reasonably strong team out at the weekend to try and get Watkins his 20th goal or mass rotation to get the kids playing and treat it as a pre-pre-season game.
Pot 1 just contains the current holders in position 1 pot1 to start, The rest is european rankings(however that works)
I think we'll get trough to the last 16 for sure, what would help is if we get the harder teams away where we're not expected to win and the easier teams at home where we can get wins.
4th or higher would be great next season to aim for but I don't think that should be our expectation. Lot of big teams in the PL so it will be tough. I'd be okay with top 6 again considering where we have been in the recent years.
Unai said last night The Dream ''was'' To move away from 17th and get to European Football when we got there the dream changed to Champions League now we reached that the Dream is to win Champions league He commented Premier League is alway s Most Important but the dream is to win and as we know he's very Demanding UTV
Pikelet... And... It's a Cob!
Simon Jordan already saying Emery could get sacked 🙄
Why can’t non Villa fans just let us enjoy this?
Simon Jordan is a tit
What a clown.
Jordan apparently likes villa, but I'm beginning to think there's a jealous streak coming out, thing is, he knows we are big enough to not b a one season wonder, and that scares the " big 4".
@@kevinjeeneshe’s best mate with Levey so he’ll say negative things about Villa
@@LG26 He also knows how big the potential of villa is, sky's not the limit, the universe is infinite!
Id love to get Olise from Palace! And sorry, but I think we need an upgrade on Luiz, id take £50M from Arsenal right now!😮
Top 4 or 5 (if 5th gets it next season) good run in the FA cup id like but I’d be happy with champions league again
Steve Oram to play Mat Kendrick
Handsome fella 🤣
we can get drawn against English sides but UEFA have said they're confident that won't be necessary next season. There's no advantage on the pots only other than it is linked to your coefficient and that determines part of the prize money you receive! UTV!
The reason for the pots is to split the teams by rating ie, best teams in pot A, lowest rated in pot D. There's not meant to be an advantage as to what pot you are in.
no its a mix
@@gazzam3172 I'm referring to the pots before the draw. The best teams (coefficient) will be in pot A etc etc
THE PROBLEM WE AND EMERY NOW HAVE IS-
Expectation- VILLA fans cannot expect this as the norm. Tottenham, Chelsea and Man U will be better next year. All of them have class players. Newcastle are in there too.
Hardest League in the world. TOP 6 has got to be the aim every year. TOP 4 is going to be harder
Emery al Pacino all day even his mannerisms
PLan B was in the Sweeney film
24 out of 36 says to me we have a 2/3 (66.666...%) chance of getting through to the K.O. stage but what do I know, fingers crossed! 🤷♂ #UTV
Adrien Brody would play emery surely
With Liverpool having a new boss, City with their charges, I think we could be in with a challenge for the title next season with Arsenal, its already looking good for next season
No one is winning the league till Pep leaves City
@LG26 they are facing charges...as soon as they get them Pep is 1st 1 out the door
@@AndyHiley1 they won’t charged with anything I reckon
Everton and Forest yes. Man City no. Money talks and rotten clubs walk.
They are already charged to split hairs, but I agree they won't be found guilty of anything significant unfortunately @@LG26
I dont even rule out Villa winning Premier League in next few years under Unai! Another 8 wins this season and we'd be Premier League Champions! And we lost n drew at least 6 games we could have won! This guy took Villarreal to Champs League Semi Final, and beat a stronger UTD along the way! No offence to VILLArreal, but they are not a club the size of Villa with our fanbase, and owner clout!! We are the ONLY club right that is rock solid and 100% UNAIfied! City have FFP to face, and Liverpool, UTD, Chelsea, have issues n fan division! 😮
Ha!, the manstream media mafia can't stand the fact that we've gate crashed the Northern/Southern club monopoly of the top six Premiership places. Even now all they can talk about is Arsenal/Tottenham 'dynamic'. Simon Jordan was particulary patronising on Talk Sport, basically saying well done to Villa (pat on the head) , but this will just be a moment in time, and expect the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham to back in their rightful place come the end of next season.🙄
When is the mighty Ming’s going to be returning to play first team football?
He'll step up his recovery over the summer, be amazing to have him back for the start of pre-season wouldn't it?
@@ClaretBluePod the one man I really want to see back as a regular 🤞🏻💪🏻
I'd prefer to see Matt with Mings' haircut rather than McPhee's.
Win the league cup. Get knocked out of CL and go into Europa League and win that and qualify for CL again. That’s my dream ❤🎉😂
You don't drop down to the Europa League anymore
@@ClaretBluePod o well that’s the dream over then hahaha
Timothy Spall isn't a brummie Mat! He just played a brummie and did it with a crap version of the accent.
No no no. Unai Emery is the spit of Alan Partridge so it’s got to be Steve Coogan.
