    bought one of these only ran it on home heating oil. it started to cut out, after 7 months, got on with sealy . they didn't want to know, said to take it to supplier. supplier didn't have a technician due to covid , after a two week wait for nothing i took it back. stripped it, cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the inline fuel filter. it ran for a while unhindered then started again, but it was always burning way too hot with visible flamed beyond front grill. the front grill burnt the centre out of it about 8 inches in diameter. had to replace it at a cost of over £120. to me. thing still will not run right. cutting out again after approx 3 mins. and getting so hot that the carrying handle pulled of the bolt on top as its plastic.. wouldn't buy again. great heat when working though

      Yeah these are utter rubbish, had nothing but problems with them, and glad I'm not the only one that had the thing burn its front end to bits

      @@gilbymdgrekords8579 looking at the other makes of heaters they all seem to be identical which .Makes me believe they are all just cheap Chinese generic heaters with different colour schemes, , after the front burnt off it lost rigidity and then the inside fire liner cracked when moving heater about , now it over heats after about a minute , I then covered this fire wall internally with fire clay, and brushed it on smooth using water , the heater now stays in for about 15 minutes before over heating and cutting off, yes rubbish indeed and no recourse, tried Sealy they didn't want to know , that was when it was only 6 months old and breaking down constantly , they said take it to retailer , who couldn't fix it during COVID, lockdown, so in then it ran out of guarantee , would never recommend one , stay clear people , and is there any recommendations out there for a different heater ? I can't do without , need one asap, thanks in advance

    Do your research before buying one of these heaters. They are more problematic then the convensional force air heaters (which can last a liftime if cleaned and maintained properly) The sensors and electonic control boards seem to fail on alot of them. There are a bunch of videos here on youtube that show some have pypassed the control board all together (completely removed it infact) and just used a few toggle switches to start and run them.

    Hi Rob , I am thinking of getting one of these for a gym I have in an uninsulated shed, there is a limited power supply going in there that’s why I am choosing diesel . Do you know how much electricity this draws ? Also is there any fumes off it ? Thank you

    Is their much fumes from the Sealey heater? I've purchased a similar unit made by SIP and I'm getting a lot of kerosene fumes.

    I'm looking at one of these for temps that get close to 16 degrees F ... 2 Stall garage... do you think this would work? also how long can it run on a tank of say diesel fuel? Great review by the way!

    • @lifeRobrandom
      @lifeRobrandom  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi it uses approximately 1.5 L an hour of fule and has 20 kW of heating power. so would be more than adequate for heating a 2-car garage

    I have been thinking of getting one of these to help dry firewood with.
    Would this be ideal for this?

    • @lifeRobrandom
      @lifeRobrandom  Před 9 měsíci +1

      They are a good heater I don't know if drying fire would would be its forte. Has any type of heat that burns a fuel is a wet heat I would consider getting something like a Chinese diesel heater that would be a dry heat as it is an indirect diesel heater meaning the fumes come out of a separate pipe

      @@lifeRobrandom Thanks for the advice and I should think with it being parraffin fired should be a dry enough heat to dry wood with or help with drying.
      I guess always worth seeing how it goes.

    Hi, how much did you pay for this? in GBP. Also can it take red diesel? Lastly I'd like to ask where exactly was it that you purchased this from? or whom?
    Thanks & Kind Regards

      Had 3 of these In our workshop, all packed up after about 3 months, was running them on red diesel and after sending them away for warranty repairs, was told by sealey that they should only be run using regular diesel not industrial (Red). Even after running them on regular diesel they were still unreliable and I wouldn't recommend buying these at all.
