"I'm gonna start my own Pink Floyd! With Clapton! And hookers!"
OMG Brilliant comment!!!
heck yeh
youre some kind of comment genius
Hahaha😂😘👍
Haha, Gold.
Roger actually picked me up hitchhiking ten years and two weeks before this album was released! It was right between Dark Side and Wish You Were Here! He was going golfing with a friend He backed up way too far on a bridge(like a couple hundred yards) The ride was from Trafalgar up through Cambridge! He was very nice and friendly!
Ayyyy what did you guys talk about?
@@jesse5823 Pretty much just small talk, it was on 4/16/74! Dark Side had only been out about a year! I was appreciative for the ride because he first passed me up, and like I said he backed up dangerously too far on a bridge! I recognized him right away! I said," Hey buddy is your name Roger"? He was driving, leaned back with a big smile looking over his shoulder and said," Yeah it's me"! At the time I didn't realize the genius of dark side, or that it would be, in some circles, the G-O-A-T!!! Thanks for reaching out! The story leading up to and after is special! But I guess I am already into a War and Peace!!!🤗
Omgosh....now that would be a bucket list check...
@@tomiole1532 that's one he'll of a story
@@mikpiotto 47 yrs. ago! Roger just had a birthday 🎂 a couple days ago on the sixth, he turned 78!
When this album came out a buddy a few years older than me introduced it to me. I will never forget that night, sitting up late, smoking a joint and taking in the music, rocking it and playing video games. 3 days later his brother told me he committed suicide. I hope you are at peace Chrarlie. How could we have been friends that long and me not know something was bothering you? DAMNN IT! I miss you buddy! Every time I hear 5.01 AM I think of you. The way we sang along to it over and over to it after a few drinks and just had a fuckin' great night rockin' out
Personally, I'm surprised that more fans of Roger Waters haven't committed suicide, homicide, patricide, matricide, filicide, fratricide, geronticide, infanticide, uxoricide, ....
My brother introduced me to pink Floyd in the mid 1980's this started a life long appreciation of all thier work.... drugs at Uni helped along the way...😅
❤
I have been very lucky to have seen Roger 6 times including "The Wall" in Tacoma, Wa. I saw "the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking" live at the Oakland Coliseum. I have tickets for the "This isn't a Drill", which I have had for over a year. I will be 80 by the time I see Roger again and I will be sitting up front and very close. I have loved his words and music for over half my life and I want him to know how much joy he has brought me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤
That’s amazing! Have a nice time in the concert!
@@translatorwannabe7099 If this is the real Al Pacino....I sat in the front row when you were in "American Buffalo". Every time you said "fuck" your sprayed me. I felt honored having admired you for so long. If you're not the real Al Pacino..never mind. Life is good, I hope you are as well. 😊
I’m gonna go for This is not a Drill. I love his music and has always been a dream to watch him live. Super excited!!
I just saw This is Not a Drill the day before last in Jersey! It was awesome :)
@@ProletarianTakeover Ive been seeing all the instagram videos of it and I really regret not buying tickets, he already came through my area
This album is so under rated
I swear.
effing masterpiece
It is underrated only in Imbecileville and surrounding swamps
Totally agree
I keep this vinyl record religiously in my collection, Clapton's guitar is simply stratospheric!!!
The bit about Yoko being mystical always intrigued me about this song I think he met her and had opinions.
I have the vinyl TOO !
Clapton played this? I didnt know that but always thought it was someone doing a Clapton impression.
What he played on this song to my ears is the best he played.
Without Clapton's excellent guitar work, this album would have been a total humiliation for Roger. The songs on "The Pros and Cons" were so subpar. In fact, Clapton showed Roger who was Boss when he decided to join the tour. In other words, Roger ended up touring with Clapton (not Clapton touring with Roger). Roger soon became demoralized by the fact that the majority of the people who were coming to his shows were actually Clapton fans who were only there to see and hear the brilliant guitarist, One night, Roger felt particularly slighted by the fans when they started cheering for Clapton after an incredible solo. Roger became so upset that he threw a hissy, sissy fit, and stormed off the stage leaving the audience perplexed. Haha! I'm sure he thought that he would OWN David Gilmour by hiring Clapton to play his guitar parts, but Roger underestimated the size of his own ego As a result, Roger ended up owning himself. Ha Ha!
Waters and Clapton what an amazing collaboration
Indeed.
who is still listing to rodger????? im 2023 I heard this as a kid and loved it straght away.....
His Politics aside, This Man is pure genius!!❤️❤️❤️
Roger, my main man, any chance bringing this gem back to spotify?
Its back :)
When those backup singers come charging in at 1:38, I get chills every time. I wish he'd play this track live.
He did
I agree. I saw Roger Waters live in Bangkok in 2001 and he didn't do this song, which was a bummer. (The rest of the show was good.)
@@ackwagl4 he did play 5:06 am
he never plays pros and cons anymore, it pisses me off
he did you know ...play it live :D
I remember when I saw this on MTV. Loved it , went out and bought the cassette tape. And loved the whole thing.
except the mtv, because the hook is in the mouth.
Who creates song like this? Genius? I love it❤!
Totally and utterly amazing, I brought this when it came out on tape, and then On CD , Clapton and waters what a combination of talent.
I much prefer Clapton with Jack Bruce. At least they wrote some great songs. No "White Room", "Sunshine of Your Love", or "Tales of Brave Ulysses" on this crappy record.
one of the best guitar solo of all time
+simorado It's Clapton
+simorado
Eric Clapton on guitar solo !!!
Love the mic feedback.-
@@MikeOBrienSDDeadHead i know i know
@@simorado I've heard there's an actual movie of the album but have only found a video of 1 song
This whole album has been a fav of mine since 1st hearing it...aye this Roger Waters guy..is obviously a genius especially when you actually listen to EVERYTHING all those notso
Roger is a genius
Oh yes amazing gillmore to both fantastic love both music ace
Total
@@briancharles1141 I’ve seen the original Pink Floyd , both Waters and Gilmour Solo right after Pink Floyd broke up, and finally a remade Pink Floyd with Gilmour. Absolutely nothing compared to this tour. Clapton in a red silk suit and Waters with this amazing story to tell! Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking was the ultimate Tour! 🇺🇸👊🏼🤟🏼
Roger want mind his own business. All he does is ditch the USA.
a genius, whose ego got the best of him.
July 18th 2019 2pm
I just finished summer camp and played this song on my way home in my dads 1978 Lincoln continental
Smooth ride!
I didn't even know these videos existed until Waters went to Vevo. They're not exactly awesome, but they relate to the songs. It's still kind of cool and 80's ish.
***** Great stuff!
There's videos for Amused to Death and KAOS too.
That's cause it was made in the 80s
Masterpiece, this album is deep as, i listened to at River Road
Whoa. I just discovered this video existed, because CZcams recommended it to me. I never knew there was a video for this track.
I hitchiked with my two best friends from the south of france up to london within seven days. after we arrived in london, we went straight to the batterseas powerstation and the pink floyd exhibition. this song alwais remains me about our adventure. thank you mister waters!
Every stranger's eyes 👀. The best.. Thanks Roger x
Many years ago I bought this CD. (When it first came out). Best money I ever spent. I listen to it to this day.
Roger BEST musician EVER...... come in now think bout it JUST LISTEN.........
As a high school senior in 1988, I was working on Long Island at “Nobody Beats the Wiz,” and was about one-year into loving Pink Floyd’s music. (I had seen the Gilmour incarnation live at Nassau Coliseum for “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” the year before.)
My best friend and I both worked at The Wiz. He had gotten me the job. I bought this album on a cassette tape in our store’s record department, and we were listening to it in my car after work on the drive home. This song struck me as familiar, and I KNEW that I had heard it before - and it would have to have been on the radio, which is hard to imagine. It isn’t really a song you’d hear on the radio, but when I played that tape and heard it, I knew that I had heard the chorus before (and not on MTV, if this video had even ever been played there).
Huh?
@peacefuljeffrey I understand your love of Pink Floyd, but I'm confused. This song isn't Pink Floyd music. It is far from it. This is Roger Water's, contemporary adult, oldies music. The only stations that played this song were the oldies stations on am radio. The only Pink Floyd song I can even remotely compare this song with is "Seamus" (from the Meddle album) or perhaps "Vera/Bring The Boys Back" from "The Wall" (I hate that song.).
Amazing track from a great album, never heard Clapton sounded so good!
Too bad it cuts abruptly at the end...
Roger makes me dreaming of hitchhiking
But actually all our life’s just a dreaming… or hitchhiking?.
I hope so!
Really great song to wake up at 5.01 AM 😅
❤
Clapton's intro in this is amazing.
saw this concert at Alpine Valley. What a night !
That little Shane boy at the beginning just kills me.
Love it
A great album. Underrated.
What a great little stomper of a song. The advantage of it being part of a concept album is it's full of pathos from all the other themes and songs on the album.
Happy 80th Birthday, to the God of his own genre pure works of epic art
His birthday is September 6th, when he picked me up hitchhiking, he was 30, and I was 20! Time flies when you're having fun!
What an album 👌
Masterpiece
Super zic💃👍🧘♂️ pour un clip qui vaut pas le coup d être vu .....

"You saw him, he had a gun"
When he played In Oslo some years ago. There was a problem when he was sitting in the wall. So he told a story about meeting President Gorbatsjov. Sorry for mispelling, but a true story. A friend from Norway.
Love Roger ❤️💕💕
Great song, loved the album with Clapton not to mention Sandborn on Sax.
Can take or leave the video.
"We were moving Away From the Border. Looking for Somewhere to Sleep. The Two of Us Sharing the Driving. Two hitchhikers Slumped in the Back Seat"
another wet dream... awesome!
Музыка моей юности! Спасибо.
Bought this tape in 1985. Then went on leave and caught a train from Johannesburg to Durban. Went broke after 10 days, didn't have money for a train ticket back and had to hitch hike back home.
Took me 2 days of hitch hiking. I sang that song many times next to the road, and when I finally arrived at my spot, I played it over and over ...
SHAAAAANE!
Roger❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This exciting video was directed by the great english director Nicolas Roeg (r.i.p.)

Roger Waters is legend 👏
This blows away any post Waters Floyd albums.
Geniale Roger Waters aver scelto come spalla il magico chitarrista eric clapton.copia stratosferica.geniali ambedue sono la storia del rock mondiale.fantastici inimitabili.Dainese Aldo.
EC killing it
Best guitar solo. On this whole album Clapton sounds a bit drunk, just enough out of practice, and passionately raw. He's clearly having a good time with Blackie and that's not a side of Eric you usually get to see. He''s usually much too polite a boy.
What a wise comment, those of us who follow Eric Clapton closely, always miss that he had been unleashed more often
His solo on Sexual Revolution is one of his all-time greatest, imo.
I remember watching this video on MTV but they would show this late at night because of the content
you had to wait past 00:00
Спасибо_роджер,за_ваше_творчество,оно_навсегда.игорь
Always loved, loved Roger Waters's voice. It isnt technically good like, say Elvis, but it delivers an emotional charge and edge, much the same way Tom Waits uses his voice. Waters uses his voice and vocal range perfectly.
Gilmour has a much better voice, So does Rick Wright and Syd Barrett. Roger's best vocal performance can be found in the Pink Floyd song "Careful with that Axe, Eugene (Live in Pompeii version)"
@@edcollins9377 gilmour has a prettier voice but Waters' has character
RIP David Sanborn. 🎷ist on this song.
I saw this concert in Oakland Ca. I was on LSD. It was amazing
Just listened to this for the first time the other day... Kicking myself so hard. Anyways, I want to give the album a listen while tripping. It's sonically one of the best albums I've ever heard. So much ambience and background.
"You flex your rod, fish takes the hook."
Cada vez que ouço Roger waters vou até aos anos 80/90
classic
2'14"..."come on , he said...why dont you GIVE a try...?"...IS It Eric singing harmony?
Yes. Eric Clapton played the lead guitar parts and sang harmony vocals. 👍
Roger Waters is literally that golf ball. Hard, but genius.
Shut up.
Holy shit, I didn't know there were videos..m
