My 2001 xt225 has 6 speeds. Produces the same horsepower. Thing is unstoppable. Why they remove a gear. 5 speed is not enough gears.
Xt225 was a girl's bike. That's why they discontinued that pos

The XT250 (current version) was never a match for the XT225. I own a highly modified XT225, and it is the perfect small displacement trail bike. Even now, 15 years after its production ended, it has not lost value, and still has 10 times more aftermarket parts and accessories than a new XT250. At least the original XT250 (current version) was a real motorcycle to begin with. Yamaha completely ruined it when the changed it from a real motorcycle to a computercycle in 2013.
If you went through the effort to highly modify an XT 225 you've got more money than you've got sense. They're both just mediocre trail bikes. I have no idea why you would think that fuel injection on an XT 250 would make it worse. I have a 18 XT and it does everything I need it to do.

@@56Spookdog Anything can be improved, and customized for the way you intend to use it. For the XT225, you can build it into pretty much anything you want. If you like 100% stock, you can ride it that way too, though I don't believe I have ever seen a completely stock dirt or dual sport bike unless it is brand new.
Also we do not care about millimeters.. we measure things with inches. If you make videos for Americans then get with the program here.
