      @@lfc4life410 thanks Mark, yes that's very common. Work on leaving your arms and hands alone and getting that left shoulder over your lead foot in the downswing and allow the arms to fall down naturally. That will really help. Thanks for your comment. Cheers, Troy

    Excellent demo on the key role of the left shoulder in the swing! At one time, I focused on my left shoulder in starting the take away and back swing and then in starting the downswing along with my left side. Then I heard if the right shoulder started the back swing more width would be created. So, now I'm searching! I'll definitely take into consideration what this video is offering! Always enjoy all of your videos Troy!

    I have watched many instructional videos over the months & I have to say that I have learned more real technical swing information from you than anyone I've watched so far. the positions of both shoulders & arms have helped me tremendously. Your calm presentation and explanation and are excellent. Thank you.
    I continue to revisit the videos to reinforce & reminding me of my swing faults. Now it's onto the driving vids.
    Thank you again!

      This was great, I've been looking for "how to start the downswing with driver" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Penamillorn Peerless Prevalence - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to learn an effective golf swing method without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got excellent results with it.

    Really like your style and I believe what you’re talking about is absolutely critical to hit good consistent shots. The struggle I’ve had for so long with these concepts is not letting my head get ahead of the ball. I know these are just demos but no doubt your left ear is closer to the target when you return your shows her back to the position you’re trying to show. Obviously the drivers much more pronounced, but even the Irons in elite players (Scott Stallings for instance Is a very good example) it’s amazing how their head is almost a foot (driver! Irons much less but an absolute) behind the starting point. I’ve been fascinated by this concept for so long, I probably completely overthink it, bur realize there are extremes of motion but it seems not one solid player gets out in front with their head. Just like all stick and a ball/throwing sports. Sorry for the long comment, Thank you, I really enjoy your approach.

      Thanks, appreciate your comment. Yes, it's not unusual for the head to move slightly closer to the target in the target. It's different for all players though which is important to remember and not get stuck on getting it perfect like one other player. Appreciate you watch the video and commenting. Always welcome, cheers.

    Hi Troy,
    Love the video. In response to a previous comment, Charley yoo. At 4.33, you say “ the first thing you want to be thinking about is moving this right shoulder.” Like Charley, I’m confused about the apparent difference between what initiates the transition?????????
    Hope you can clarify this.
    Keep up the great work.
    Keith

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks Keith, sorry about the confusion. The lower body still initiates the transition, but when the lower body moves the lead shoulder will automatically follow. It doesn't want to be left behind. It not so much as moving the lead shoulder as a conscious thought to get over that lead leg, but more a result of the movement of the lower body. Hope that makes sense and sorry I wasn't clearer. Appreciate your support. Cheers, Troy

    Does the lower body technically start the downswing? I struggle with this topic. I need to work on this with your drill.

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes it does, the upper body is quiet and the legs start the downswing and put pressure into your lead leg and the upper body follows behind. Cheers

    Hey great stuff. I struggle with this move despite slow exaggerated repetitions. I get some down and forwards in early DS to definitely get some shaft lean at impact but not ENOUGH to get the shoulders parallel to ground at P6 like the pros. Any other tips/feels to really work on this?

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks Rohit, practice one handed swings with the lead arm can also help. Do this many times and then gradually bring the trail arm onto the club. Cheers

      Hi Jimmy, you can practice this inside against a wall or even put a club along the ground in line with your lead shoulder to use as a reference point getting the shoulder to return there. Cheers
