Thank You for the book for all we ever wanted to know about Carpenters. Thank You for the album, because the clearest path to hear Carpenters Music is through your talent on the piano. And Most Of All Thank You For The Music.

I'm very excited to receive this book! The Carpenters had the class to record the most sophisticated pop music at an unsettling time in America. The quality of their music is the reason it will go on. I hope I am one of the lucky ones to receive an autograph copy - what a treasure!

Richard has never overcome his insecurities. He deserves a lot of credit for the Carpenters music of course. Praise should be given and not taken. If he would give Karen the credit for their success he would come across as very gallant. Karen always gave all the credit to Richard because she loved him and she was so basic. The truth is that the music was beautiful... but the audience loved and adored Karen and her unparalleled talents! Richard has made beautiful music with other talented vocalists, but never duplicated the success that he had with Karen. Our beautiful Karen was one of a kind. I don't want to be mean toward Richard, we all miss her terribly.

I think he did a pretty good job of giving 🌟Karen🌟 credit on this recording,
      Not sure where.

You are absolutely right! In any interviews I’ve ever seen with Karen and Richard, Karen always, always went out of her way to compliment and lift her brother!! KC always had her brothers back. She looked up to him soooo much. He should have had her back.
He is still making money off the Carpenters so many decades later so yes, their music will last for so many more generations. He’s “redone” their music so many times, I like the originals to be left alone.
Just think, Karen would probably be a grandma by now!! Man, still so sad Karen didn’t have that one person in life, that could have held her hand tight, and not let go until Karen could take that walk alone.

Without Richard the world would never have had the pleasure of hearing Karen Carpenter. Yet I believe the world would still have heard Richard's talents even if Karen was not part of his career. He was the ultimate musician, songwriter, and arranger. There's a reason Karen has always been Richard's greatest fan. She understands he made her career.

@williamsmith-kd4bd. Richard Carpenter has always given Karen the credit she obviously deserves for her magnificent singing and drumming! He has understandably and quite rightly only been miffed by the fact that many people would erroneously give Karen full credit for the Carpenters' sound when Richard was 2/3 of the Carpenters' sound because he along with John Bettis wrote a number of their biggest hit songs AND Richard selected the musical instruments and arranged the music on their great songs!

@@carpenterscollector2910 Thank you for the information. Much appreciated. Richard is one of the very few masters of music we are fortunate enough to have with us. I still believe that his Christmas album he spoke of doing years ago, but never released, would’ve been a masterpiece.

@@josephcormier7457 Bit of interesting fact about that as well :) He was never actually going to release a christmas album, apparently the plan was, that he`d put together some christmas songs and wanted other singers to pick them up and record them, either existing singers or new upcoming ones, but what happened to that idea, i have no idea. Many have been waiting for a second R.P.O album, but i don`t think that will happen while Richard is still around. I have a theory as to why, but i`ll share that if and when it comes true :)

In this interviene Mike takes the lead and gives Richard short time to express his stories and ideas.

I didn't hear Richard in a long time... He used to talk really fast and with enthusiasm, he seems
kind of weird. I think Mike is trying to "help", or like, trying to keep a fast tempo for the interview. I don't want to sound rude, I'm just surprised about Richard's way of express himself.

🤣 274 views as of October 1st. I continue to be amazed at how the best selling America group of the 1970s gets no love what's so ever. The untold story was mentioned, Little girl blue was not! Interesting... Chris May is a super nice guy, professional & always has had a "SINCERE" interest in the Carpenter's. I thought that Chris's approach in this 90 minute piece was stellar! 👌 Listening to Mike talk was like listening to a used car salesman & Carpenter's fans know that. Yes, Richard has gotten older, set in his ways, a long distance from bouncing from piano to piano playing Dizzy fingers, or the young RC playing the concerts with Karen's. If you know Richard, he is a man of many different personalities. I really think he came into his own as a man during some of the documentaries one of them being when he was explaining the beautiful Ava Maria piece. Go back fans & take a look at Richard's demeanor excellent right? NO MENTION OF WHERE THE PROCEEDS ARE GOING, OR NOT GOING. You guys know I'm big on that. As to all of the Loyal Carpenter's fans out there that idolize them beyond reason, it's appreciated but guys like Pedro, Simon etc... at the end of the day are just fans even if you met them ok. These people are more recognized by you tube people. We need a lot less Randy Schmidts, Sally Olson's, Jenny Sinclairs & instead just remembering the Carpenter's music for what it will mean to each & every one of us forever. Good book.👍Great new cd by Richard.

Richard is definitely struggling with memory and might have some sort of oognitive issues....stroke or Parknsons. Sad. So much of what I watch is the young, vibrant Carpenters...then, the slow decline of Karen. He still seems "lost" with out her.

I’m a big fan or Carpenters music. And Richard was a brilliant arranger & musician. But the way you guys dance around his ego reveals a lot about his personality. (Of course it isn’t entirely his fault; the same mother who groomed Karen to feel inferior, groomed Richard to be a little arrogant & narcissistic.)
