Other is Maryam raised by Maa begum who never not get enough comfortable with her family to share everything.

This is what happens when you keep women so sheltered they don't even know who the family's biggest enemy is, they can't identify bad characters and are gullible like Maryam.
You guys brought up an interesting point in the end, if the audience didn't know who Anas really was...how would we see the situation differently. They would have to change other things too...like the brothel scene and the rude mother... but I think it would have been really interesting if they kept Malik Zubair's appearance hidden from the audience as well or maybe used another enemy for this role? Idk exactly how they would do it but I think it would have been so interesting.
Most of the people criticized for no matter who it was elopement is not justified

it would be v interesting if we didn't know that anas = malik zubair but i wonder if it would have lead us to hating murtasim a lot more in the last few episodes because it would seem that he's denying the rishta for no reason. here, because we knew it was malik zubair, murtasim not accepting it was a lot more tolerable and our frustrations were on meerab for trying so hard to get them married.
similar to when murtasim brought that servant girl and planned to get her married, meerab was in the right for speaking up for her but because of the circumstances she was still blamed. here, imo meerab is still in the right for trying to save maryam from a forced marriage but because he's malik zubair, she will once again be blamed and punished.
it's a big issue for me with this drama where women standing up for themselves and speaking out against injustice are always punished while the men, even while having problematic thinking and ideas end up as the heroes.
She is still right for speaking up against forced marriage, but wrong for helping Maryam elope. Even if it wasn't Anas, it could have been some equally bad guy, someone abusive who only pursued Maryam because she was from money. Also many girls end up being trafficked in this manner or in abusive marriages.Had they not shown that Malik Zubair was Anas, but had shown him pressuring Maryam to elope without atleast trying to meet her family, his mother sl#t shaming Maryam, him not showing up to meet her family, the kotha incident, the fact that Meerub and Maryam did not know his last name, family history, what he does for a living etc, audience would have still seen the red flags, atleast they should have. Meerub with all her trust issues, met Anas once and was convinced that he would actually die for Maryam.But had they not added these incidents, Khan family would have probably agreed to the marriage as well, even if grudgingly. They made a good point about girls being raised so secluded inhibits their judgement of people, but contradicted themselves when they showed Meerub with her liberal upbringing, fall prey to it herself.

Yumna Zaidi nails the guilt as Meerab. I just wish Meerab would learn from this that she can't always be right and use her forced marriage as an example to cloud her judgment everytime. Murtasim had given her multiple warnings but she made it all about her ego to prove herself right. Now deal with the consequences. Murtasim would be hurt and feeling betrayed by Meerab because he had begged her not to do anything that he wouldn't be able to deal with. Yet she did it. It's not about Anas being a good or bad guy. You're breaking someone's trust by supporting the decision of Mariam eloping.
