Burglaries and crime isn't down. People just stopped reporting it because nothing happens. It's a waste of time.
So true, I don’t have much faith in OPD these days.
I always report it. But the cops come and threaten me and dont take a police report. Police laziness is the main issue.

The property manager on the video already had the place broken into seven times. If you multiply that by the number of businesses, that number is astronomical. Criminals don't need to ever buy anything anymore when they can just steal it. This is a sad but true message to the citizens of Oakland.

Criminals keep abreast of the laws and policies much more than people realize. The word has been out for quite some time now that the DAs and judges are exceedingly soft on crime and the police have been defunded and therefore are vastly outnumbered. they are basically on their side. It has become a golden age for career criminals in places like the Bay Area
Time to leave that city. It has failed.
Oakland is a horrible place.

what's there to cash in? A vintage shop in that tiny shopping alley? In Oakland? I'm more than positive they are operating in the negatives and have been for quite some time.
Now that I think about it, the city leaders are running it in to the ground so to drive prices down and get everyone selling. Then their supporters can swoop in to buy prime real estate for dirt cheap.
The Bay Area is a free for all criminals.
Don't pay for nothing, just steal it and do no jail time.

Because on March 5, 2024 ALL these business owners will march to the voting booth and vote for every Democrat running.
The criminals know these business owners are scared of change, so nothing is going to change in Oakland.
Criminals will still be criminals loose on the street robbing everyone.
Business owners will cry to media about it and wonder why them.
Remember, your vote is the most powerful tool to change the way things are currently.
Use it wisely and there will be change.
Use your vote in the wrong way or don't vote and nothing will change in Oakland.
However on March 6, 2024, KPIX TV will give the election results fairly and announce that every Democrat won their race that they entered.

seeing all this makes me grateful to live in a commonwealth in the south.I was locked up with a guy who didn't get a bond for stealing a case of redbull lol,the judge said "if i let you out you'll just do it again"
Its down because all the businesses are closing and a lot of break ins aren't being reported because it takes hours for OPD to show up and if they do show up when the crime is being committed they don't do anything anyway. I have no faith in the system.

If I could afford to I would shut down and leave the first time after it happened in Oakland or S.F. You would maybe give it more chances in another city but those two cities, I would pack up and leave after the first incident because things aren't going to get any better. We see the same people in the news after being robbed time and time again saying, well I'll give it one more chance and it's usually because they have so much invested. That brings up another point. I wouldn't open up a business in Oakland or S.F. in the first place with the way the current criminal environment is.

The culture of Oakland has always had crime but it used to have order. The outsiders have taken over the marijuana business that once belonged to the streets. When you take an entire economy away from the poor and give it to the rich yuppies , it creates a void . The void is filled with robberies and theft
