will they also stay on when you start the car? I want to do the same on another vehicle but would like the kit to work as DRLs on when the vehicle is turned on and off when the ignition is off.
Yeah they stay on when you start the car. That’s it’s whole purpose. To come on when you unlock the car and stay on when you turn the car off, and then turn off when you turn off the car and lock the doors
thanks for the fast reply that's awesome news theoretically couldn't you just connect the aux wire to a switched fuse such as the cig lighter that only gets power when the car is on rather then using the dome light?
@@bhxtyrant2962 so the lights don’t get power from the dome lights. The dome lights just tell the control box to turn on, once the control box is on, it gets its power from the fuse I pointed out in the video. I’m sure you could get creative with the aux wire but I don’t want to guarantee anything without actually knowing for sure
how did you route the red wire up there? through where?
I just routed it the side, then removed the pillar cover on the driver side just enough to tuck in the wire, I didn’t remove it all way, just enough.
And then through the head liner
If I wire the auxilary wires to one of the fuses that turn on when the ignition is turned on, will it turn off by itself when I turn the ignition off? Or will have I to turn it off using the remote everytime.
What I found is that the auxiliary wire doesn’t work tapped into a fuse. I had to use the dome lights for it to work properly
@@luiproductions Gotcha , I just reached that part of the video. If I try tapping it into a fuse that turns on with the ignition, will it turn off by itself when the ignition turns off?

@@luiproductions yeah the only way I could find one to purchase at msrp was by calling dealerships before they even knew they were getting one. I got a quote and waited 2 weeks to here about the allocation. Then signed all the paperwork for final price. I know the wait is worth it. Are you looking into any tuning software? Hondata has a 250hp/250tq tune that I’m thinking about putting on once I get the car.

I can’t imagine why not. Should be pretty easy to wire it to a switch yourself

Even after you lock the doors? Of you did exactly what I did and they don’t turn off when you lock the door then off reach out to Opt7. They have warranty so they might be able to help you or send you a new one.

@@luiproductions the dome lights you run them to come one when you open your door right?..if so that may be my problem I got a 98 2door tahoe.the only only lights comes on when I open my door it the middle and rear light.you think that could be the problem?.
@@jr_da_great2403 yeah that could be it. You need the dome light to come on that’s the switch power that will tell the lights to come on. You can try wiring it to the ones that come on when you open the door
