  • 🇷🇺 What does a man have to do to get a beer around here? Well if you're in the Siberian town of Taiga then the answer is quite a lot. I searched everywhere for a beer and met legends on the way. Welcome to the towns other bloggers don't show you, where everyone is a character with a twinkle in their eye.
For you guys searching on a map for the towns I visit in this film, they are: Novosibirsk-Bolotnoe-Tomsk-Taiga-Taishet
This is part three of my journey across Siberia. Follow my Insta for trip photos @realbaldandbankrupt

Oh, my! 🥰 Thank you so much for your video about Siberia, my homeland! And your Russian is sooooooo good! I'm so happy to watch it because I'm from Tomsk, a Tomichka :D By the way, it's not 'Tomachi', it's 'Tomichi', 'Tomich' for males, 'Tomichka' for females. 😊
That funny lovely woman in Novosibirsk was right about people in Novosibirsk; they are cold or colder. She might be from a town; we, people, from towns view big city people like this. But still it depends; I love Saint Petersburg culture for example. Russia is too vast and diverse to jump to quick conclusions about such differences but Siberians in general are viewed as some of the most humble and warm people.
I was rolling in laugh at 19:50 😂 My Tomsk family still use those. 😂
Lenin monuments are still all over Siberia; in Tomsk central square there’s a big Lenin Monument next to a church. 😂
A friend from Netherlands sent me this video and when I saw the title contains Deepest Siberia” I thought it must be about a tourist going into Taiga forest or somewhere in Yakutia because for us, Russians, Novosibirsk, Tomsk are not the deepest Siberia; in fact, it’s the opposite, it's a developed/industrialised Siberia. Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia and Tomsk has been always called "Little Siberian Europe" due to the good number of universities and the international relations it's got. Taiga and Taishet are 'deeper' but still a bit far from the deepest. It's just interesting how perspectives differ.
Again thank you for getting in real touch with the locals, and I’m sure you left a great impact on them; they’ll remember your friendliness and kindness. If more tourists like you were visiting Russia, I believe Russians would change their views of foreigners, the world and their own place in it.
“What am I going to do? Stuck in Taish**. 😂
    Good luck! You’l need it.

My both thumbs and big toes up! Enjoyed you video so much.
Novosibirsk, actually a small town near it, was my place of abode at my childhood. it was interesting to see it again even if you've passed through so fast. But your journey is a journey of how far you may get to the east.
I recall reading ones the diaries of Prince Kropotkin, a founder of the Anarchism. FYI he was a great traveler and geographer in his youth after coming out from the Pages Corps where her studied. Kropotkin also traveled to the east, exploring new sites, but at that time there were no all those comfy trains, buses and railroads, and his journey with a group of Kozaks on horsebacks lasted almost a year or even two. In winters there they had to trudge through deep snowbanks up to the bellies of their horses, and there was no chance to think about where they could get Siberian Corona beer from.
I wish to bet that finally you'll reach Vladivostok. There is the Sakhalin Isle though (or Karafuto as some old Japanese sometimes call it for the trace of their memory). But I believe to get there one has to get a special pass.
    Anyway, Good luck, man!

It’s impossible not to have a smile on my face watching these videos, seeing all these places and people that I never would have even herd of, it’s so heartwarming seeing all the wonderful interaction you have with the people you meet. Really proves that no matter where you are or where you drew up we are all still human.

Bus ticket ladies probably couldn’t find UK in their software because I think it was named there as Соединенное Королевство (Soedinennoye Korolevstvo), which literally means United Kingdom, and it is official name of UK in Russia. But nobody among common people in Russia really use that name of UK, usually they refer as Velikobritania (Great Britain), or just Anglia (England), but of course there is no such country in official software.

You forgot to visit the public toilet at Taiga Station.
This station is a transfer station for Tomsk residents.
I don’t know how it is now, but in Soviet times it was a legendary toilet. It was famous for its terrible smell, which hurt the eyes and could faint. But if you needed to urinate, then there was no choice and you had to go to this toilet.
