The BMF belt is meant to be separated from a championship belt. It's offered to great fighters that don't usually have a path to the belt in the weight division but are huge PPV draws. If you combine the belts you tie the belt to the championship belt.

I got into a 1 vs 5 fight last year outside a nightclub on new years. My heart was pumping so fast from adrenaline as fight or flight instincts kicked in. I had to muster up all my strength, mental toughness, and and years of mma training and I managed to kick him after he went down and he was in the fetal position. Im a legend

Honestly, you can’t link a BMF to a championship belt. Otherwise no one else in any other division can ever be the BMF beside people around the 140-160 lbs division.
I think the next BMF title should be competed by:

I think fighters, on some level, have lost focus of their task & goal. Probably because 'The Belt' doesn't necessarily guarantee absolute financial security, or stardom. So, the fighters are navigating different possibilities to obtain those objectives. Meaning, there's not that absolute DEVOTION to capture that title at all costs. Who knows. That's just random thought on my part, and I'm not sure what these immaculate athletes are thinking half the time. PPV pts is the answer for Masvidal. I really like the idea of Max vs Arman for BMF but Arman would never do it because he would lose PPV pts.
Best scenario is Arman waits like a baby and fights Islam this fall. Topuria waits like a baby and fights Ortega this fall. Lastly, Max vs Aljo for the BMF belt would also happen this fall or late summer. That’s the best scenario because all the Champions would get PPV pts. Thank you Chael.

THE REASON THE BMF TITLE DID NOT GET DEFENDED BY MASVIDAL -
PPV points are only awarded to champions who DEFEND their title. Masvidal did not earn PPV points because he was not a champion DEFENDING his championship belt.

This is what the fans were afraid of the BMF turning into. The reality is that there are barely any fighters to begin with that qualify for what the BMF is supposed to represent. It's not a sustainable idea. It should only surface every once in a while to maintain any integrity and if it turns into a belt that is contested regularly it will lose all of its significance.
