    Awesome video. I noticed you already were able to read continuity through Line voltage wire through the low and high pressure control so the HPCO couldn't have been open due to the fan not running. When you ran the compressor after jumping from the timer over to contactor it seemed like it was simply pumping the system down due to the ice machine down stairs being in the OFF position, Manitowoc uses R404a and industry standard needs 250psi to close the fan cycle control so pumping down for 10 seconds (especially since the system was equalized when you got there) wouldn't be enough to even build pressure to 250psi. I personally think it's the delay block, they are pretty reliable but they do go bad like all parts do. Sometimes I even run into a brand new contactor that once energized at the coil its stuck and the pole won't go down to make contact at all, and I have to secure power and rattle the contactor bridge and "loosen" it up. Good luck.

      Hey there- thanks for watching, after I ran the compressor by bypassing the timer block I didn't specifically test the hpco but I did test the lpco and hpco circuit which was open,,,, I should have tested the Hpco by itself to be sure but hindsight is always 20/20-- for the fan cycle control you may have a point about the pressure it actually cuts in at, I didn't have my gauges on while the system was building pressure and 250 sounds pretty spot on,, I made the assumption it was well over 250 while running because sitting idle at ambient temps it was just about 230psi.

    I had those timer blocks go out on two brand new Manitowoc quietcubes. Would only allow about 180v through causing short cycling and chattering of the contactor which would in turn fry it.

    Seen quite a few of these fan cycle controls failing on the newer Manitowoc machines. Ive done one and know of at least 2 others done, in our company, in the past 4 months or so.

    Customer states: The ice machine you did not install is not making ice, can you please look at it?
    As you stated at the end, quote to make it good and it's like that.
    Biodegradable roof penetration to go with it, very cost effective.
    Enjoy that weather, your winters are brutal.

    Bill, Manitowoc has a service bulletin out on that timer. Good luck getting one.

    • @Brisket9392
      @Brisket9392 Před rokem

      It's just a 5 minute delay on break relay (anti short cycle). It locks out for 5 minutes when one of the switches opens going to terminal 2. ICM makes a couple options that work. Nothing special about it. Could be bypassed (just as he did) if in a pinch. You just lose the 5 minute short cycle delay.

    Seems odd to have that many issues with a new system. Manatowoc has been pretty rock solid in my experience. I know they were struggling with supply issues. Maybe these were substandard parts due to parts shortages.

    • @Brisket9392
      @Brisket9392 Před rokem +1

      If I remember correctly it's a 200co/250ci. They fail regularly and they are sweated in. These units have a headmaster but believe the fan cycle is to assist in harvest. They will work with the fan cycle bypassed. If you want to replace, I would just put a tee in and use a regular peanut. Not worth dealing with pinching and brazing in new unless you have endless time.

    • @jphvac5725
      @jphvac5725 Před rokem

      @@Brisket9392was going to add that manufacturer actually recommends pinching and brazing in to replace them, but read it in your last sentence! I find pinching refrigerant and brazing as a ultra risky idea when you can just recover the charge and not have to worry about all that refrigerant blowing out. Just my two cents. Ha. But seen bunches and I always install adjustable fan cycle controls after warranty expires.
