  • In this video lesson we will derive the point-slope formula for writing the equation of a line using the formula for slope. We will review how to find the slope of a line using two points. We will understand how to identify a point and slope from an equation written in point-slope form. We will learn how to write the equation of a line in point-slope form when given a point and slope. We will also learn how to write the equation of a line in point-slope form when given two points. We will discover how to write the equation of a line in point-slope form when given two points in function notation. We will also learn how to write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form that is written in point-slope form which we also refer to as solving for y. Student practice is embedded in the lesson with modeled exemplar solutions.
