- Muir Woods National Monument is just north of San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and is one of the few areas California hiking areas that preserved massive "old growth" redwood trees. The Muir Woods park is accessible for old and young alike so the main trails can get busy with hikers, walkers and strollers. We show you the best ways to get to Muir Woods and get around the park.
We show you the transportation options and give multiple tips on experiencing Muir Woods along with some redwood tree information. We show you several hiking trails and take a 2 mile loop hike along redwood creek including hillside trail experiencing Founders Grove, Cathedral grove, centennial tree and much more. We show you the Canopy view trail and Fern Creek trail that lead to Panoramic Hwy and a special secret across from Mountain house inn.
This may not be the best park for forest meditation (Also known as Forest Bathing) but the beauty and majestic feel are awesome. We give some local tips on serene redwood tree forest bathing in San Francisco.

The old growth Redwoods are intriguing and beautiful. Thanks for sharing the alternate parking information that would be super helpful and save some hassle. You provided great views looking up and around at the trees showing their grandeur. The information on needles and elevation is quite interesting. Pressed penny souvenirs... yes!!! A 2000 year old tree is awe-inspiring! Annular rings - is a flashback to my botany classes😊. The trail settings amidst tall redwood trees seems like from the prehistoric eras. One would feel dwarfed in comparison to their gigantic sizes. Excellent narration, outstanding footage, appropriate background score, and a complete and informative video for anyone planning to visit the Muir Woods National Monument Park. Good morning, my friend!! That was SO awesome to see the redwoods in the Bay area!!! I live up north of that, where we are literally surrounded on 3 sides by redwoods and the ocean on the other! That was so cool to see and to learn about the Muir redwoods down there! WOW! I had not seen this grove before! I also did not know that Golden Gate Park has a few redwoods. That is very refreshing to hear. I had an old friend years ago who had told me that redwoods literally used to go all up and down the California coastline. It's great to know that there are some down south of here still. Very lovely sharing. I enjoyed the video very much. Full viewing!!!
