This boss was so difficult to me it made me quit my first playthrough. To see it done this easily...
I've only fought it once and it one shot killed me. So I went and farmed souls elsewhere. Now I'm level 41 and I'm heading back to give him another go. I wear heavy armor but everybody on CZcams fights completely naked, apparently? 😆
@@Doctor-Stoppage Because you can roll faster . By the way the gaping dragon is weak to electricity so you might want to apply some gold pine resign on your weapon.
i beat this boss on my first try, but my heart was thumping at the end. i love how the boss gets more aggressive at the end and punishes you for being greedy

Didn’t actually notice that too busy only ever taking damage from the none hit his feet do on the ground, that shit hits me from far away and I wouldn’t call 2 hits with a dagger greedy

Ngl gaping dragon is my favorite looking soulsborne boss other than my fatboi Smough. Like 10/10 on the design with the 6 legs and all. Majestic
and the most dumb. you can literally kill him with arrows or run around him cause he slow as a turtle

Holy shit, thank you. I saw a strategy was to summon both Lauric and Solaire, and hit from the side while they tank, but they always died, and I was left alone. This made it so much easier
I didn't see a summon sign for Lautrec, but I was lucky enough to recruit another player
God it looks easy gere but the stress and anxiety get me mid-fight
this boss isn't nearly as easy as I was expecting he's killed me like 20 times so far on my first playthrough

Because I didn't have access to the 2nd knight phantom (I killed one of them for an item), I wasn't able to easily kill this boss like other guides were telling me to do. Luckily, this method did the trick.

@@diojoestar9229 I'm like 2 to 5 years late. But I'm pretty sure the sorcerer can just be killed before going into the depths and he doesn't respawn, mainly because I haven't had this happen to me
Beat this guy on my first try with a +5 claymore and fire paper.....then found out after the fact that I could cut his tail off for a weapon. I spawned an NPC in that died immediately so the fight was way harder than it needed to be since the boss gets extra HP to compensate for the extra player. My new rule of thumb: If it has a tail, cut it off.

Lmao i know this is an old comment. But this^^^ .Boss actually seemed easy in the first fight but I got greedy (and died). No worry, ill pop back and defeat him. *YOU ARE CURSED* oh fucking great. Problem is, the boss seems easy enough that i cant justify grinding for a purging stone then making it all the way back...

Just so anybody reading this in the future knows, you can get 2 purging stones by dropping a cracked red eye orb to snuggly the crow in the asylum, or you can buy them for 3000 souls from the guy in the first bell. No need to pay 6000 for them

idk for me he is jumping around like a basketball and every move makes ton of damage, sometimes one shot me with full health.
This method really works. I used the Rusted Iron Ring and kept my weight below 25% so I could move/roll quickly. Beat him very first try, first play through using this method. Only got hit once because I run in too early during the charge and must have got hit by one of the feet.
Tbh man you could just take of all your armour and shield all you need is a sword and patience

well this actually triviliazed the fight for me. I swapped from my +3 hally to an unupgraded claymore for the ability to chop tail off. hit head then tail 2-3 times and repeat. easy peazy.

This is really easy when you played through a quarter of the game and find the stone armor and great axe first
Not sure if it was because the summon glitched the boss, but mine wasn't attacking, he was just sitting there not even aggroing the summon, then he would only do his jump attack. Got him on my first try. Figured that wasn't how his boss fight was. Feel kinda robbed tbh!
Use the pine resin for lightning buff, I used the crystal sword and it was super super easy, 2 charges and I punished him easy

2nd try got this guy to literally 50hp. Like one hit and it was over. Out of nowhere he pulls out so wombo combo nonsense and stomps me to death before the animation for getting up could play. On the way back, some stupid basilisk cursed me too. This game tests you man

I was just about to watch the tutorial , but then I had an idea, at the end it was the same thing that this good guy showed in this tutorial and now I feel dumb XD
This one was the first boss in ds that I've beaten first try
I did this my second try, amazingly. I actually thought this guy was pretty easy. Capra demon being far harder. I just baited him into charging then got behind and attacking. Rinse, repeat. Careful not to cut off its tail the second time because it gets more aggressive. Kinda felt like I cheesed it though...
i attack the mouth when it slashed on the ground and then it would dash forward. by that time i m at its tail and swing a few slashes. it wasnt really hard.
run as far away as you can so that he charges, once he puts his head down run around the side of him to the back, attack the base of his tail the entire fight, repeat. got him 2nd try with the black knight great sword

This would be a really easy fight for me. Seemed easy in my first encounter. Of course I died by getting greedy. Then on my way back I become cursed... I seriously cbf going back and getting a purging stone. Now Im trying while he can basically one shot me... But it seems so easy I dont see the point curing myself and then running all the way back.
Not a hard boss at all, just time consuming with how much HP it has

I walked into this boss fight expecting to get destroyed.,. This guy was the biggest pushover in soulsborne and I beat him first try
size matters not. the boss isnt that hard, given we have a high damaging weapon.
but even without it its easy. when it attacks from the mouth and lays there give a two handed weapon attack and then run towards it tail avoiding the feet, then give a few swings on its tail n then back away. repeat it

wonder how many people killed this boss while cursed like me. I know its dark souls but thats some toxic game development lol... The vendor in the depths not selling purging stones and not being able to teleport is aids.
Is there a place to pick-up missed items? I didn't cutoff it's tail.

This boss was so good. Gonna be funny seeing the ds1 remastered noobs struggle on these bosses. Key is to just memorize the moves and learn to bait their weak moments
I played this back with the JP release (a month earlier than international) without any patches that were included on the int'l release and this boss was just SO difficult that even with 3 people one struggled. It's still a lot of fun but damn that thing was evil.

God is this boss slow and boring as hell
To me is a little cringy that he uses one of the much weaker weapons in all of his videos. I currently have the black knight halberd and it cuts through absolutely everything. I was lucky enough to get it from the knight in Darkroot Basin and compared to the damage his straight sword does it’s just kinda sad but that’s just my personal feelings.
The point is to show you can beat the game without optimized gear or stats. The build we used for these videos is extremely basic.
Fextralife I see, I’m less of one of those hardcore masochists that wear the calamity ring and use lower stats and weapons to challenge themselves. I’m more the person that likes progressing and getting stronger because it gives me a sense of fulfillment like I’m succeeding at a difficult task. Although my main goal for this play through is to collect all the dragon weapons. I just defeated the gaping dragon and got the dragon king greataxe so I’m on my way :)
Mainly what happened was that when we made the Dark Souls 3 videos, we made a good build and progressed it through the game, only to have people seeing the guides and thinking "you're overpowered!" because our stats were better optimized even at the same level. So for Dark Souls 1 we decided to focus on showcasing counters to the boss moves, and how a war of attrition works even with a bad build or sub-optimal gear.
So far this is the easiest boss in the game. The furthest I've been as of yet is Ornstein and Smough

@@skullthunder3181 i actually had a bit of trouble dodging those magic orbs. Once i figured it out, it was piss easy tho. My opinion has changed tho, now that I've beat the game. Pinwheel is definitely the easiest lmao

@@omegawario7479 well i guess, but that's just a tutorial boss so i wouldn't count it. imo the first REAL boss is Taurus demon (if you go the undead burg route). asylum demon is more to just teach you how boss fights work
