    Awesome video! Quick message to 80% of peoples comments here though; Real motocross riders don't give a shit which type of bike is faster or better, they just love riding. Everyone has a bike they prefer. For me its 2 strokes, because i just prefer them, no specific hate on 4 strokes, i still ride 4 strokes. Just prefer a 2 stroke. End of the day if you really do love this sport, like me, you'd be put on any bike and have a shit load of fun. Cheer up people!

    For the lines taken, the guy on the 125cc 2-stroke needs to be on the throttle more, even rolling it on sooner. He's waiting too long to get back on the powerband for taking the outside line a lot. He could easily have beat the 4-banger by holding more momentum. 125cc riding requires constant momentum and power to the ground, meaning you brake less and use the clutch almost only for slowing down instead of the actual brakes. Also, over-revving in the air doesn't do much for you as well, it just makes it sound like you are going faster. This guy could have done with an upshift and more momentum in sections to easily be faster. There's nothing more beautiful in MX than seeing someone really flow like butter on a 125 with the throttle pinned. It is amazing. For the record, I was a 125cc specialist at a professional level.

      Only 2 reasons to rev while in the air. 1 is a panic rev, for those situations where the bike is kinda nose down while in the air, it will help bring the gront end up a little. 2 is for better landings. It can help if you're landing crooked, and will help the bike to deflect more of the impact. It will keep the bike from bouncing around after a hard landing.

    Hell yeah! I love it. Back in my racing days four strokes weren't even thought to be competitive and were only for trail riders. Unfortunately the torque and rideability (I think I just made that word up) make it hard for a slightly faster rider on a two stroke to beat a guy on a four stroke. Had Jeremy Hand been on a four stroke it would have been an easier fight. But, you just cant beat the sound of a two stroke (any size) rippin' up a track. The best sound in the world is a lone 250 two stroke in a stadium. Anyone else remember watching one of the pros doing a hot lap at a supercross race?
    In my opinion, four strokes brought one major positive and one major negative to the sport of motocross (as far as people getting into racing). The positive is that it made it easier for guys to progress faster than they would on a two stroke. The negative is that it made it easier for guys to progress faster than they would on a two stroke. There may only be a few guys who understand that.

    • @Eastsidegeorgiaboy

      I think I get it. There's things that you will learn on a 2 stroke that 4 stroke riders dont typically deal with, and over the long run, it makes the 2 stroke rider a more complete rider. It's like this episode of Pokémon, where Pikachu and his trainer Ash battle someone who also had a Pikachu( but forced it to evolve into a stronger Pokemon, called Raichu). Raichu has all thebpowers of Pikachu, and is supposed to be stronger, and potentially faster. Well Ash's Pikachu mopped the floor with that Raichu, because his Pikachu never evolved, he learned new moves that the Raichu didn't know. Ash had a more complete Pikachu. Ok. I'm done with my analogy.

    Bro, THANK YOU for proving my point. Both bikes and riders were dead even for most of the race, the difference towards the end is the guy riding the bike that 25 lbs heavier that plants itself into the ground got a bit more tired than the bike on the lighter bike that dances OVER the terrain. 2 strokes rule. Politics and money greed by AMA, NPG, Feld, bike companies are whats killing 2 strokes. Just like in life off the track the people are speaking, none of the dullards in power are listening.

      I finally bought a 2 stroke still haven't got to really brapp on it yet because I'm waiting on parts. The only thing I do dis like though is the mixing oil and gas and how loud the bike is I wish the sound was a little less intense. I love my ears. Another thing I noticed the neighbors seem to hate my 2 stroke way more than my 4 stroke I think it is the aggressive sound it gives off.

    • @vetb882
      @vetb882 Před 3 lety

      @@Micscience Yaaay. Good for you bro. You'll be brapping in no time. You can fix the bike yourself, unless it's transmission you can fix the top end in your garage. No timing chains, no valves, no excess BS. 😉😆
      As for the sounds, it IS a more aggressive one, like A REAL racing machine should sound.
      If it's exceedingly loud though, repack the silencer. They make lots of kits where you can do it yourself. You'd be surprised how much lower the volume is over that's fine, plus it increases the low end snap.
      Hit me up if you have any more questions. I know local Pros who are hanging onto 15 year old 250 2 strokes and doing well on them. Train though, 4 strokes don't scare you so your not relaxed. A slow 2 stroke scares you cos it's hyper and aggressive. Cycling us a good way to build cardio and lung strength.
      Best ff luck and "rubber side down" ... that's a racers blessing.

    People dont truely understand the way a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke works.Actually the two stoke has less torque per cc because it is continuesly going fast it is like the difference between a person pulling back half way for a punch and a person pulling all the way back for a punch.The four stroke is the person who pulls all the way back for a punch.The four stroke doesn't hit on every stroke but when it does it packs a big punch thats why they are good on the lower end rpm's.I hope everybody can understand what I am trying to say.

    • @hacker8253
      @hacker8253 Před 9 lety +2

      *****
      What I am saying is correct.A 2 stroke appears to have more torque because I get to fire every stroke.I am computer a 2 stoke engine power to the 4 stroke for every combustion they get to make on their revolution not a buck of revolution combined.Of course a 2 stroke is going to win but for the 4 stroke to even come close to the power of a 2 stroke it has to pack a big punch when it does combust thats what I mean.

    • @hacker8253
      @hacker8253 Před 9 lety +1

      You know what I meant.if you were to compare a single combustion of a four stroke and a two stroke the four stroke has more power but because the four stroke does not fire every two stroke the two stroke has more combined power.For the four stroke to make up for the missed stroke it has to produce a lot of power in that one stroke it does produce to push all those heavy parts.Its shows you how much power a 4 stroke really has.

    • @hacker8253
      @hacker8253 Před 9 lety +5

      *****
      I know that all I was trying to say,but you have to be honest 4 stroke engines last way longer then a 2 stroke engine,and you have better control of the rmps.With a 2 stroke the only way I can describe it is like a on and off switch.You either have it at full power or its nothing.With a 4 stroke it has power through all the rmps and its way smoother.

      This whole 2 stroke vs 4 stroke debate is old and pointless.
      2 stroke
      - 30% more power
      - LIghter
      - Cheaper to repair
      4 stroke
      - Not as insane
      - Heavier
      - Better on hard pack dirt
      - expensive to repair but not as often
      I'm not bias, I just prefer 4 strokes because of a couple reasons.
      I like the weight
      I dig the sound
      And I don't ride chainsaws :) (My poke)

    The 4 stroke rider picked better lines around the track which made up for the lack of snap that a 2 stroke has but eventually old world technology and a determined rider won the race. Great riding by both but I have to say 2 strokes are just more fun to ride. 4 strokes are easier to ride but they just don't get your blood going like a smoker does. Facts are facts it takes double the cc of 4 stroke to keep up with a 2 stroke. There has to be a reason for that.

    • @Micscience
      @Micscience Před 3 lety +1

      Well thats because there is double the metal inside the engine of a 4 stroke and it takes more time to complete the cycle. Also all 2 strokes have an advantage they have expansion chambers which 4 strokes don't have. You would need to add a turbo or a super charger onto the 4 stroke to equalize the extra performance effect the expansion chamber gives a 2 stroke by using sound.

It's a good bike when the plig isn't fouled. But she also does a lot of trail riding at slow to medium speeds. Meanwhile, I bought my 2021 yz250 2 stroke in February, didnt get to ride until mid April due to rain and work. Anyway, Im still running the same spark plug that came with the bike from the factory. KTM, Husqvarna, GAS GAS, all offer fuel injected 2 strokes, with electric starts. Btw, KTM owns all of those brands. The GAS GAS receives ktm parts from about 2 - 3 years ago. It's not as new as the Husqvarna and KTM, but it is still new. They treated it like how Ram trucks has the ram 1500 and also the 1500 classic. The classic is basically the previous generation ram chasis, with updated lights.

    I personally have no idea why people choose to race 4 strokes instead of 2 strokes (besides obvious class rules) or why manufacturers don't update their 2 strokes or why the AMA changes its rules regarding 2 strokes because mechanical engineering wise, the 2 stroke is a superior piece of equipment that makes much more power, is much lighter, and costs way less to make because it has less moving parts. Someone argue lol

    A 2 stroke will ALWAYS beat a 4 stroke, so long as the rider knows how to ride. They have more HP than a 4 stroke, having there power ban between 6k and 8k rpm. After 8k rpm though the four stroke will start to show it true potential, but its usually to late. 4 stroke guys hate 2 strokes cause they have never been on one. I have a 250 sxf and im looking to trade for a 2. Have you ever taking the engine apart, a 4 will blow ur wallet. 2s are easier to maintain, cheaper to run and have more hp.

      I owned a Raptor Big bore 660 to 735 for 5 years and NEVER rebuilt it once.My CRF 450R that I have owned for 6 years and I have NEVER blew my motor ONCE. I only had to replace the piston and rings because it was going out of spec and shim the valves. Mind you I did it ONE time. The Top end kit for my CRF 450R is only 30 bucks more then a two stroke with ALL the gaskets, piston, and rings. I've never lost compression because I don't hug the rev limiter. 4 strokes are bullet proof as long as you do simple shit like changing the oil frequently, clean the air filter after every ride or two, and don't rev the guts out of it the motor will last years and years and years without any sign of a rebuild. You can't beat the constant torque and power of a four stroke, they are so much faster and you don't have to hug the rev limiter all day in order to go somewhere. I got power from idle all the way up to red line on my bike, and on 2 strokes ONLY have power in one place, the top end and I utterly hate it. It's "bog bog bog bog wah - shift a millisecond later - wahhhh- another shift and before you know it you're topped out while the 450's and 250's still got one or two left with the much longer gear ratio. Plus I like how the guy on the KFX 250 was probably hugging 3rd gear the whole race, instead of constantly shifting.
