Wouldn't be without an electric starter on my gx390, it makes life sooo much easier. The handle of my cord pull fell off the other day even though I've never used it lol. Must have rotted cord after 5 years. Now I know how to replace it, thanks 👌
Have changed my also on my 390 , noticed that for some reason about 1 1/2 inches from the handle it seems to wear quickly, took my recoil off again and filed the sharp edge where the cord goes into the recoil, might be why Joe D always left his loose lol
To make this a little easier, when you tape the end to pass through the cover add 6 inches of light stiff wire under the tape. You can now push the wire through the opening, then pull the rope through.
Always educating nice vid on "how to" is always helpful ..... what size hose you got feeding that 4gpm machine about to set mine up tomorrow and will like the proper size for it
@@allproexteriorservicesllc5338 gotcha brotha , I appreciate the feedback ...you guys have no idea the positive impacts yall have on us viewers, and for that I'm thankful
Thanks for the video I had trouble feeding the rope through the holes finally figured it out I used a lighter to cauterize the end but the guy who sold me the rope it was too short so I have I believe too much tension on the cord the rip cord how long is the original cord on that and does it have to be
Hello thanks for sharing I have a question the spring let go for me and I don't know if I'm missing a piece because when I wrap it around there's nothing to latch it to can you share a video of an exploited view of this and how you can wind the metal coil and what's its attached to thank you
I knew you were from Louisiana as soon as I heard you say Junk Trash...Lol...then it was confirmed when I saw your 985 area code on the trailer. I'm from Morgan City la
Well that was easy enough. I'm still adding an electric starter kit to my post-2011 GX390 but keeping the rip cord for backup. Bad thing about these pressure washer setups is if you don't get it started manually with first two tries, you gotta pull the trigger to relieve pressure otherwise you'll break your hand/arm trying to start the thing. Would've been nice if the manufacturers would've installed a clutch assembly on the pump to disengage pump and prevent pressure buildup while starting but I reckon they don't use these things. I love my GX390 but would've been nice if they would've installed electric starters from the factory.
Here is the link for the post-2011 engines. They've got all of them here under Honda GX on left side pane. auto-express.co/collections/gx390-starter-motor/products/honda-gx390-13-hp-electric-start-kit-flywheel-starter-motor-key-box-new-2013.
@@allproexteriorservicesllc5338 - My kit arrived today. The 2013 kit works on both pre/post 2011 engines as the flywheel comes pre-made with TWO timing notches in the flywheel where it mounts to crankshaft. This one flywheel works with both regular and 30° advance timing engines. Just have to match the keyway notch to the original flywheel to ensure correct ignition timing.
could you make a video on how to replace the ratchet pins inside the coil pull on a GX 390. Mine backfired so violently once on a pull that it bent the pins beyond repair. I purchased new ratchet pins but don't know how to install them.
@@allproexteriorservicesllc5338 No worries - I found a repair shop to install - which was a good thing because the rope pully was also damaged in the backfire and they installed a new one. Thanks for getting back to me!
I ve the same engine but when I try to start it, the rope goes back violently… have u you ever had this kind of problem ? Which is the cause ? The starter ? Thx 🙏
I am not sure you have a start on the engine. It sounds like you have pressure built up in the pump. Make sure you release the pressure before trying to crank the engine. Thanks
Very helpful! I'm back up and running with some extra cord on the truck just in case. Many thanks!

Agreed. I would pull the trigger on the gun to release pressure. Once you go electric start, you wont go back. Thanks
