Those pinnacle starburst cards look awesome. I buy an old box of pinnacle now and then to see what I get.
Back in 1989 I did card shows, my brother wanted to open a card shop. I was more experience with cards , me had great job and made good. I had Upper Deck on phone about buying cases of cards. I bought 2 cases, my brother passed on it could of had pallets if he wanted.
Can you do these same videos but with raw ungraded cards?

Great job as always. I look forward to the Junk Wax Baseball card video in particular. It is worth noting that while the pop of the '89 UD Griffey is over 4000, it is growing at an extremely slow rate (I have kept track since I started watching your videos, and since around Nov. of last year I think only 20 PSA 10's have been added to the pop). I would expect that rate to stay low. I suspect that a number of 'new' PSA 10's were broken out of BGS or SGC slabs because of the significant premium for PSA 10's. I confess I think the card is overpriced a bit (it hurts me to write that since I own 2 of them, purchased one back when they were $400 and you didn't have to pay tax, and the second just above the 1700 mark...bought the second because it looks so clean...but I don't have the chutzpah to break it out and try for a BGS 10). I'm averaged in at 1050 per card, and I feel comfortable there, since this will consistently be a high demand card in this condition. For a lot of collectors, especially those who grew up during the junk wax era (as I did) this will be the flagship (or at least an important) card in their collection.

Are the Ralston Purina marked cards equal in value to the "cereal" ones? Haven't seen a generic copy till today. Have 2 or 3 sets of the Ralston marked version as the factory is located in my home town. Did lawn work for a former CEO there. Anyways, finding a 10 would be "needle in a haystack"- level - hard to find... "Miscut" being the worst culprit.

Those aren't the Diamond Kings he's talking about. The oversized you have are called Masters of the Game drawn by Dick Perez. They were issued for Walmart along with a couple of packs of regular Donruss. That's why they have postcard backs.

The 1990 Topps Rookies inserts with the test band was Topps attempt at issuing gold foil onto cards with a glossy surface, it must have worked because they used the foil on the glossy Topps Stadium Club cards the next year. I could be wrong, but I also think the foil on the 1990 Topps Rookies came in different colors such as red and blue as well as the gold. The 1992 Donruss Super DKs used to be hard to find but once Donruss as a company was bought by Playoff in 1998 more of the cards were in their vault and released. Still hard to find but not super rare. That Mattingly minor league card shouldn't be graded by PSA because the SCD annual states it was made illegally by a Broder type company and issued during his hype in the later 1980's. That's why it's black and white and labeled a promo. Mattingly didn't have a Columbus Clippers card in 1984 as he was already in the major leagues.

Any idea why the dufex types of cards aren't being produced now? It seems that Topps or Panini would find a way to copy it.
Not sure on that. I can do some digging if I have time because I do like the look of these pinnacle inserts from the 90s.
A lot of the printing technology and processes of the 90s was lost during Pinnacle bankruptcy; same with a lot of 90s card/printing tech of the time. That's why 90s cards are so innovative compared to today. That technology and expertise is probably too costly to reintroduce for today's card manufacturers who outsource everything and pull from same suppliers
They are, especially in Zenith football the past few years in their Z team cards.

Seeing what the "80s junk" psa 10s are selling for is a CONSTANTLY kick in the junk... I'm HUMBLED (correct usage) by it!!! I had a few, just a couple yrs ago, that I didn't get anywhere CLOSE to what they get now!
